I've gotta say, the paragraph regarding the crazy old grandpa pushing the kid down the sidewalk on the broken tricycle is one of the funniest things I've ever read online. I get the feeling that God is fucking with me all the time. That is hilariously awesome.

Im so late for this: :(

My backpack stuff
Food- packets of lipton noodles, instant mac and cheese, powdered milk, some cans of chicken and a box of chipsahoy with sprinkles
Drink- Hmm.... bottled water.
Entertainment- My DS and all my games (they are just tiny cartridges). Ok so if i could only pick a couple of games it would be - Planet Puzzle League, Puzzle Quest and a RPG.. probally the new Pokemon since I havent played it yet. My mini mp3 player loaded with some great songs too and a book... hmmm... Cygnet by Patricia Mckillip or the Morgaine Saga by Cherryh or His Dark Materials Omnibus (all multi book...books)
Weapon- 38 special.

TO THE PERSON LOOKING FOR DS GAMES..
I have alot, and have played alot. These I can recommend without thinking twice about it.
Elite Beat Agents!! (great rhythm and music game)
if you like EBA import Ouendan 1 and 2. These are also superb! No need to read Japanese either, the storyboards tell it all.
Puzzle Quest (RPG meets puzzle games>..)
Planet Puzzle League (its Tetris Attack given a mature makeover)
Scurge: Hive (its a Metroid like game only in an isometric perspective and Zelda=ish dungeons - tricksy and HARD!)

For the sidescrolling games, I was underwhelmed by New Super Mario Bros but thought Princess Peach was crazy fun. Sonic is also decent if its on sale....

I bet that old man is just some kind of elderly Macgyver and needed to whip up some crazy thing quick to amuse his grandson for a few hours. So basically he just slapped a bunch of crap together that he found in his shed and Taa-Da! "The Paitriotic Weed-Whipping Super-Tryke of Mystery!"

The Mafia's on my tail and I have time to load a backpack... mmm.

GUNS. Lots of guns. Nigh-untraceable street level arms - no serial numbers, teflon to prevent fingerprints, and lots of barrel changes to prevent easy changing.

Then we'll see who hunts who.

Oh, and my DS. I can't live wouth me Tetris Ds.

And i'd love to fit in an iPod with a bunch of Savatage lyrics.

Pokemon Pearl = Very Yes.

The photo of the guy pushing the kid seems like it should be one of those What's Wrong With This Picture coloring book activities.

My Backpack would contain the following:
Food: pizza and Buffalo Wings
Drink: a bottomless bottle of rootbeer
Entertainment: DS and PSP with games
Protection: Guyver Unit, and my Entertainment stuff zapped with the energy from the Allspark, so they can turn into homicidal little robots and eat the mafia guys faces.
