Summer Megaparty: X-E’s Summer Jukebox!

X-E's Summer Jukebox is now active! A stunning combination of oldies, cock rock and songs from Pokemon movie soundtracks! It's not finished, but in case anyone without a radio needs some easy breezy listening as they spend Independence Day playing Yahoo! Checkers, I figured now was the time. It's a pretty eclectic (read: ridiculous) mix, but this is a pretty eclectic (read: ridiculous) site. I'll add more songs soon.

Even when it falls on a Wednesday (ugh), the 4th is typically one of the lowest days of the year in terns of web traffic, or at least, X-E's web traffic. If you're about to head off for barbecues with celebrity friends for a day, have a good one. Us? We got nothing planned. Maybe a little grilling, or maybe I'll track down a leftover smoke bomb from this article, or maybe I'll waste the entire holiday reading up on carpenter ants, which for some reason are creatures I find quite kickass.

Got the jukebox going now. It’s the simple pleasures in life I tell ya.

I got giddy when I saw you had Wipeout on there. Must go get my microphone out now.LOL

iAMYou, I totally understand. I’m not one for spoilers, but I love the ideas bouncing around right now!

Tan, other than Voldemort I don’t really know who else will be killed. I’m guessing Snape, only because he made the Unbreakable Vow to protect Draco from harm, and Draco will probably have a huge role in the next book. What are you thinking?

Ok, what I read was this:

‘Good News: Dumbledore IS ALIVE!!
Bad News: Snape is forced to kill Dumbledore.
Ron Weasley dies.
Then later; Hermione dies.

AND they are REALLY dead and not coming back by the end of the book!

So then: Harry kills himself in order to destroy Voldemort!

In the end of the book Harry is reunited in the Deathly Hallows Ghost World with his parents, Ron, Hermione, Sirius and Dumbledore…kind of like the end of Return of the Jedi! ‘

I don’t like that sounds of it.

FYI – after all these years of singing it drunk at parties, I finally learnt the ACTUAL words to ‘land down under’ and never realised they used ‘Where beer does flow and men chunder’
Chunder is such a charming word….

JK has said Dumbledore is definately dead. :( However, I feel Harry may get to speak with him in some form, like in a portrait in the head master’s office. The other portraits talk so I assume Dumbledore’s will be able to do so as well.

I don’t think BOTH Ron and Hermione will die, but it’s possible one of them may. Sadly.

I also wonder if it’s possible for Harry and Voldemort to kill one another? I know one cannot live while the other survives, but what if neither survives? That’s a pretty surefire way for JK to make sure there aren’t future books written by someone else. Of course, they could always do prequel type books, but I know enough back story on most of the characters that I wouldn’t feel a pressing need to read one.

Eek, that’s a lot of killings! I just have a hard time believing that Harry will die. Practically speaking, she’s got two more movies after this new one, and killing off the main character is not going to get people interested in seeing those last two.

In other news, I saw a commercial for the Harry Potter video game for the Wii. That game will be mine!

Chestnuts roasted by eliza @ 07/03/2007 11:06 PM

I know she has said Dumbledore is defiantely dead but I dunno, I just found him dying in the last book way TOO easy. He’s supposed to be this grand amazing wizard – and there is so much that can be done in the magic world and that happens? I reckon he let Snape kill him. But agree like you said, he will be back in some shape or form.

The info so far seems to point to Harry and V both having to die but then again in a realm where she can make up the rules, surely there is something out of the blue she finds to maybe not ‘fulfil the prophecy’.

I really don’t like the pairing of Ginny and Harry, she’s never done anything for me. I wouldn’t be happy about Ron and Hermione either. So I guess the scope of possibilities is endless and I’m sure there will always be something else I’d prefer.

I spend my days at the bookstore now pre-ordering Harry Potter 7 for customers and talking about rumors…it is great fun. So far most of our staff is betting that JK Rowling will write another Harry Potter book (or at least one on the back stories of Harry’s parents, Lupin, Sirius, et al.) within 5 years, after her attempt at adult fiction fails miserably.

I am walking out of Transformers. It rocked. Alot.

*dancing to summer jukebox*

Harry who?

Chestnuts roasted by ellaenchanted @ 07/03/2007 11:13 PM

I’m not a big fan of the Ginny and Harry pairing either, but I definately want Ron and Hermione to get together. I love Ron. I just think he’s adorable.

The only reason I found the death of Dumbledore somewhat believable is because he had to drink that horrid potion to gain the fake horcrux. The potion had weakened him, and without that storyline I wouldn’t have been to eager to accept his death, but with it I find it quite plausible.

I was wondering what the jukebox logo would look like. Neat. I wouldn’t mind having a summer themed real life jukebox. And I’ll get a jukebox, a real one, eventually for the den I will have in the future someday. That and a bar with a tap. They have handles for those that are Moe’s Tavern themed, also duff beer themed. I thought I would plug in one more simpsons thing before it gets bad. Also a simpsons talking dart board. My future den/bar is coming together now. OH and moe’s tavern barstools. They make those I believe.

I am listening to the summer jukebox on a windows media player skin called “blue crush” from a movie that was out a year or two ago. It’s shaped as a boogie board I recemmend downloading it, it’s on the microsoft site.

We ate pizza tonight and I have mountain dew! Cheers!

If Voldemorte has horcruxes then why can’t Dumbledore? and I hope Draco gets the boot. So is it unanimous which side Snape is on?

Chestnuts roasted by Tan @ 07/03/2007 11:27 PM

Muppet Baby, working at a bookstore was my dream job growing up. That is, before I realized how antisocial and unhelpful I can be at times. Do you intentionally wear glasses, sip at lattes and sneak off to read on stacks of books in the back aisle? Or do you actually have to ‘work’? :P

Chestnuts roasted by eliza @ 07/03/2007 11:33 PM

Oh no… horcruxes are very dark, evil magic. I don’t think Dumbledore would ever rip his soul apart to make them.

I’m sooo undecided about Snape. I really want him to be good, but it’s looking less likely.

hey guys, you’ll never guess where i’m posting from!

Summer Jukebox = awesome.

Ate at a buffet with the gf and our good friend (fellow geek) then hung out here for a while.

Found out the 7-11 near my house sells Buzz Cola.

Tomorrow is the 4th, BBQ and fireworks day!

Transformers was awesome (I said in previous thread). I tried putting a spoiler in a spoiler space, but that part of the post got omitted. For the best I suppose.

Life is good.

Where, Hoverbored? Could it be from your brand-new Nintendo DS?!

Chestnuts roasted by Thomas @ 07/03/2007 11:44 PM

Very funny, Thomas. I posted the last comment on my new DS. I love that Turtle Power is on the jukebox, coz I love the soundtrack to that movie.

Matt, I love you forever for including ‘Walk the Dinosaur’ on here. I haven’t heard that song since I was like twelve. HELL YES.

Tomorrow I have nothing fun planned other than going to see relatives, who are in their 90s. So it’ll be something to do, but not exactly a wild party. But who cares – I have the day off work!

Goob, your post reminded me of something I had totally forgotten about. When I was about 15, the oldies station here ran this promotion where if you wrote down every single song they played between certain hours of the day, you could enter to win a REAL JUKEBOX loaded with albums by all the artists they played. My mom and I were both thrilled with this idea so my mom seriously spent hours and hours writing down songs. We totally didn’t win, but it was pretty funny watching her sit by the radio all day with a notepad. My mom is awesome.

I love how the Beach Boys have three songs on the jukebox. Good Vibrations, Kokomo, and Wipe Out. Yep, that’s the Beach Boys singing on that track with the Fat Boys.

Chestnuts roasted by Hoverbored @ 07/04/2007 12:04 AM

Kokomo always brings to my mind, being in Primary school and having to do this pointless (yet fun at the time) choreographed show that we did for gym class? It took place outside of my school in the paved playground area. The parents were all in folding chairs watching their kids try to move in synch to music and to each other, while utilizing parachutes and hoola hoops. Did anyone else ever have to do this in primary school???? I always forget about this weird event until I hear Kokomo.

I won at karaoke tonight. I am now the proud owner of a mad 3rd place $10 gift certificate for Applebee’s for my madcap rendition of Under The Bridge, even though I couldn’t stop picturing the Ghost with the Most through the whole ordeal. I almost ordered the pineapple burger…. almost. Next time.

Chestnuts roasted by Mystie @ 07/04/2007 12:44 AM

Magnificent Jukebox, Matt. Only thing that would’ve made it better is the inclusion of Rythm of the Night in there somewhere.

Chestnuts roasted by DocDragon @ 07/04/2007 1:12 AM

I knew a kid who was bitten on the lip by a carpenter ant. His own fault for being a fugmo simian who walked around with his bottom lip hanging down all the time.
Its madibles were stuck in his lip for about a week.

Nice! When I first started this playlist I thought I started one of my own by accident. Why else would I be listening to The Go-Go’s and Escape Club? But then you had Jimmy Buffet so I knew there had to be something terribly wrong.

Plans for tomorrow? Oh, hell yes. Transformers Movie.
