06/17/2007: X-E’s Summer Megaparty: Begins June 20th!
After five minutes worth of careful deliberation, I’m happy to announce the forthcoming maybe-annual X-Entertainment Summer Megaparty! If you weren’t here last year, the Megaparty is explained simply as a set period of time in which the blog will be updated on a daily basis. We did this all throughout August last year, and it seemed to work well enough. This time, I’m gunning to dance from 6/20 all the way through 8/1.
So, what will you see during X-E’s Summer Megaparty? The beauty of it is…I don’t know! What I loved most about last year’s was the complete lack of theme or direction. One day, you’ll get a toy review. Another day, a commercial download. Other days, I’ll reach under my desk and write about whatever I yank out. Sometimes, I’ll post a new entry shortly after midnight. Other times, 8 PM. It’s lawless except for one rule: New blog entries, everyday from 6/20 through 8/1! Wheeee.

Hell yeah! You should do some fast food reviews! There’s tons of new crap out there right now and I’d love for someone who’s not me to sift through and see what does/nt suck.

Whoa! X-mas has come early this year. That’s good to hear, Matt.
Jessica: If you have the time you should check out some glass bottom boat cruises in Florida. I live about 2.5 hours south of Orlando in Palm Beach and the water and surfing is pretty good. Tons of marine animals. Click my name to see about a mile from my house. The sheriff warned my buddy and I about surfing after seeing sharks in the waves.
I can’t believe Stacy is 38!

Terrific! I had forgotten about the Megaparty since last summer. I do seem to remember that was a stretch where we did not get daily updates. Hopefully, this can be whatr sustain until Halloween and Christmas.

VERY awesome! I third Fast Food Reviews (as I’ve done it myself…moderation is key)
Also, I went to the Strawberry Festival in Mattituck, NY today which had its first ever Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest.
It turns out it was an official IFOCE Event…in other words, and actual, real-live Competitive Eating Event. All of the non-Kobayashi “Legends” were there:
-Ed “Cookie” Jarvis (didn’t compete, was a referee)
-”Badlands” Bana…well, I forgot his name (also didn’t compete and was a ref, but sang a song off of his new Rap Album)
-”Eater X”, who won 2nd place (with his dad, Peter, who didn’t eat nearly as much)
-Big Mike (the event didn’t have shirts in his size)
-The Mad Greek (who is going to be in the Nathan’s hot Dog eating Contest for the 6th straight year)
-”Crazy Legs” Condi (who won 3rd)
-”Deep Dish”…forgot his name too, but he won by eating 15 1/4 lbs of that stuff in 8 minutes.
All in all…I never saw an official Eating Event before, and I gotta tell you…it was freaky as hell. One of the guys, forgot who it was, was a Champion of French Fry eating. Now THAT’S an event I can get into.
Stacy is so much more attractive now that I know she is older than we originally thought. I wonder how Kryssa is doing these days…
Megaparty pwns all.

Yay! Megaparty is the bees knees.
Bill - Awesome idea. My husband was seasick on our last whale-watch though…I’ll have to take along some ginger pills for that.
After looking up Wikipedia, I have found that it’s “Badlands” Booker, and “Crazy Legs” Conti.
And “Deep Dish”’s real name is Patrick Bertolelli.
Whee! This sounds like all kinds of awesome.

Aw, I just realized I’m going to miss the beginning og the party! Crap. I’ll be fashionably late, I guess, next Monday.
Woot! A Megaparty and Vanilla Coke all in one day!
My husband went over to Buffalo today and he found Vanilla Coke at Wegmans. He bought us 8 cases, just incase we can’t find it here in Canada for awhile, or they decided to get rid of it again. We are set.
I went to a Strawberry Festival this weekend too at my moms church where she is in charge of one of the tables. It wasn’t very exciting, no eating contests, but I did have crepes with whip cream and strawberries, then I had a strawberry shake, later in the day I also had some corn on the cob, mmmmm.
Happy Fathers day to all the Dads!

MegaParty ROCKS!
I tried that Pepsi Summer Mix today and it’s good, but I can’t really figure out what’s in it. I think I taste some coconut flavor along with some pineapple, but I could be wrong.
Also, those mystery Doritos (X-160D?) are DELICIOUS and definately cheeseburger-flavored. You can tell by the subtle dill pickle flavor, which I usually DESPISE, but it works here perfectly.

Alright, so, things newer people need to know about the Megaparty:
It is amazing fun to take part in the MP Challenge: Post in every thread of the Megaparty, before the next is posted. This means everyday, but also in any additional threads that may be posted on a given day. Me and the Colonel came so close to doing this last year, but Graymatter ruined it. This year will be different!!
It is a great time to define and establish yourself. Shuanfu once mentioned the benefit of late night/early morning conversations that are prone to happen. Very good times.
This place gets to be BUZZING. Seeing the amount of activity we’ve been sustaining of late, I know it will only be THAT much better this year. You can almost constantly refresh, and you will be sitting on pins and needles starting around 10:00pm EST.
It’s just brilliant, all the way around. I thought Matt was crazy when he proposed it, and did for much too long into it, but it is without a doubt one of my fondest memories of X-E and that is just mind-boggling when I think about how many perfect memories I have of X-E.

Speaking of constant refreshing, any chance of getting the “top of the page link to the next entry” fixed so that it actually links to the next entry instead of the current one? Not to be a total complainer or anything.
I don’t think I’ll be able to take on the Challenge. Things are shaping up to be an unfortunate combination of fecal matter and wind generating devices this summer so I may not have as much time as I like to dedicate to the consta-refreshing.
Say, are we gonna get a new set of hot Corona-drinking Megaparty babes this year?
Yes! Now every day there will be at least one nugget of amusement awaiting me!
Matt, your recent productivity is making my summer that much more enjoyable. Thanks!

I agree, the Mega Party last year was great fun and perfect timing; just like this year. It’s also when I got into the blogs and, as K- mentioned, the many late night/into morning conversations that let me get to know everyone in my ‘X-E Fam’. Can’t wait…
Hey Bill: did you actually film that? I really dig placs where you can go and be away from everything and just watch nature do it’s thing….

Matt, you’re August megaparty was extremly enjoyable to me, considering that I started school last year on July 31. It really made the long, intolerable, miss-no-days till labor day, month of August fly by, or at least seem not as depressing.

Shaunfu: I did. That’s probably why it looks so bad; it was a cell phone cam. That is my secret beach that not many go to. The die hard surfers don’t like all the rocks and the beach peeps hate the rough surf. I think it is great.
The other day I saw two 600 lbs + sea turtles swimming less than ten yards of the rocks.
By the way, my buddy is there too. I wasn’t talking to myself.
Matt!!! I am on business in Savannah, GA and you really should come here for the Halloween countdown now that you freelance. Why? Let’s see….most haunted city in America (if you believe in that), pirates, bars every few feet, and open bottles are allowed on the streets. The bar I was at had a tunnel that pirates used to shanghai drunks for slave labor. Have you ever drank at the same bar pirates did 300 years ago? I could go on forever about this city but i won’t. I’ll blog it.
Jennyb7: You have a tough job. Good for you.

Hope everyone had a grand weekend and a superb father’s day, where applicable.
So I see we have a mega party to prepare for, should be fun, though I didn’t post last year, I was there reading and laughing.
So this weekend I was digging through boxes of old stuff in my garage and I found a cassette tape that had a couple songs my friend recorded for me, and on there was a “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Rap”.
Has anybody heard this? I’ve searched and searched for this song and can’t find anybody even mentioning it on the internet, only other stupid TMNT rap songs that aren’t this one.
Some of the lyrics are:
[something something] and someone’s in trouble
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are there on the double
So let’s all join along and clap
To the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle rap!
I had to go to my brothers house to use his cassette player to play it since I don’t have one anymore, so I’d love to find this on mp3, and after a good hour of hardcore internet searching, I’ve found nothing, and if anybody knew anything about this song, or atleast even heard the piece of crap, it would Matt and X-E fans.
I’m with Bill on the Savannah thing. We LOVED it. Damn good ghost tours too (at least the one we did).
Bill: Palm Beach, eh? That’s where I’m from. Florida native, born and raised. Managed to get a whole 3 hours north to Orlando, where I’ve been for the past ten years. Dammit, now I feel old!

That rap is Vanilla Ice’s Ninja Turtle masterpiece. Another popular Ninja Turtle rap was one located on a cassette tape from a Bobbi Katz book about staying off drugs.
This rap song is neither of those raps mentioned.
I sent out a mass email to all my nerdy co-workers (I’m IT) and only one person has recognized the song, but has no clue where it came from either. Other than that, nobody I’ve asked has even heard it.
Thanks Matt! Looking forward to it!

Is there a different Vanilla Ice TMNT rap I’m missing? Because the only one I’ve heard and have known about from Vanilla Ice is this one:
YO! It’s the green machine — Gonna rock the town without bein’ seen
Have you ever seen a turtle Get Down? — Slammin’ Jammin’ to the new swing sound
Yeah, everybody let’s move — Vanilla is here with the new Jack Groove
Gonna rock, and roll this place — With the power of the ninja turtle bass
Iceman, ya know I’m not playin’ — Devistate the show while the turtles are sayin:
Chorus:
Ninja, Ninja, RAP! Ninja, Ninja, RAP!
GO GO GO
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
Go Ninja, Go Ninja. GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
GO GO GO GO
Lyrics, fill in the gap — Drop that bass and get the NINJA RAP
Feel it, if you know what I mean — Give it up for those heroes in green
Just flowin, smooth with the power — Kickin’ it up, hour after hour
Cause in this life there’s only one winner — You better aim good so you can hit the center
In it to win it, with a team of four — Ninja Turtles that you gotta adore it’s the:
Chorus
Villians, you better run and hide — Because one day you might not slide
Choose your weapon but don’t slip — Vanilla’s in control with the flex of the mic grip
Rockin’ the crowd the way it should be rocked — With the Miami drop that you like alot
Hittin like a Ninja Turtle when the bass kicks in — You better check your level
The power of the Ninja is strong — Fightin’ all the crooks until they’re all out cold
Where the rap song I’m talking about, has these (there are more, obviously, I just can’t remember them )lyrics:
[something something] and someone’s in trouble
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are there on the double
So let’s all join along and clap
To the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle rap!
So does Vanilla Ice have another TMNT rap song I’m not able to find anything about?
Sounds great Matt , just be careful what you reach under your desk and pull out to write about.

Okay, so after a week of thinking it was Nintendo’s server’s fault, I fixed my router by changing the channel it was set on (who knew?), and got Castlevania because I had Wii points burning holes in my console.
Let me say one thing–Unlimited continues FTW!!
Anyone who finished the game on the default number of continues, YOU ARE A GAMING GOD. I’m just past Frankie and Igor and getting my ass handed to me by those Knights

Sweet… I missed most of last year’s Megaparty, and I was lurking when I was around.
Shuanfu- Awesome
So I was thinking purple had to be Inky, logically, but Wikipedia is calling it Sue. But then some other article is saying Clyde had a sex change and became Sue. Whoever she/he is, they’re cute up there.
I couldn’t stand the idea of being away in class every night of the Megaparty, so I dropped that bitch just moments before I was supposed to go in. So now you guys are stuck with me, haha. I’m sure everyone is thrilled. BTW, I totally used “cognizant” in my last blog entry, which just so happened to be about MST3K. Thanks for the suggestion Matt!
Wow, bold move Squee. I’ve dropped a lot of classes in my time, but never for a forum/blog. That’s hardcore.
Now I have to think of something radical to do to top that.

Believe me if I could drop the classes I’m taking this summer, I would. But I wouldn’t graduate on time, and well this’ll be my 8th year. I think it’s time I left for good.
