05/21/2007: Pepsi Summer Mix & Diet Coke Plus!
I’m attempting to write through a fever — bronchial ashtma, to be exact — so my apologies if several points get lost in a sea of groggy antibiotics, Theraflu, NyQuil and delicious strawberry Halls cough drops.

Those competing cougars from Coke and Pepsi have unleashed one new beverage a piece onto the world at large, each manifested for a wholly different target demo. Dwurrr.
Pepsi’s offering is the most interesting of the two, so it gets top billing. Pepsi Summer Mix blends the taste of Pepsi with indiscernible artificial fruit flavors, and the end result is…subjective. I hate it. You may disagree. Though I admit that I liked the taste a lot better after allowing myself more than a single can, I also admit that I never quite shook the feeling that I had just downed a shot of rancid Southern Comfort and was trying to chase it with Pepsi Cola. That’s kind of what it tastes like.
The part of me that doesn’t want to be so harsh thinks it’s more like Pepsi mixed with tangerine soda. I don’t know. It doesn’t work for me, but I adore the effort and can totally picture being eleven-years-old and obsessed with making sure I drank nothing but Pepsi Summer Mix from now until September 1st.
And then, the competition! From the sentient polar bears at Coca-Cola, it’s Diet Coke Plus, which is essentially Diet Coke with added vitamins and minerals. At first, I was disgusted by what I took to be an aftertaste similar to that of a medicinny vitamin tablet. After a while, I realized that there was no such taste, and that it was a completely psychosomatic reaction to drinking “soda with vitamins.” If there is any real flavor difference between Diet Coke and Diet Coke Plus, it’s minimal. While I don’t think the world should be turning to soda for their daily fix of vitamins and minerals, I definitely dig the silver can.

I’m not really a soda-drinker (or “pop” as we call it round here) but the Pepsi has me kind of excited. Mostly because I love artificial fruit flavoring in spite of myself (banana-flavored Runts. Chomp.) As for the Coke, I’ve said it before - if people are really drinking this to get vitamins, they’re fooling themselves.
Thanks for the post! And keep feeling better. Maybe get some of those vitamins in there with the soda.
yum

I like Diet Coke Plus, I downed a case Fri-Sun. But right now my soda of choice has to be Cherry Coke Zero. It’s better than regular Diet Coke, like it has a sweeter flavor or something. Plus the can design is way cooler — cherries with little holes punched out of them.

I’ve always been averse to Pepsi’s weird flavors after Pepsi blue…but just this weekend I had a can of Cherokee Red, possibly the best soda ever made and one which I haven’t drank in literally about ten years.

I second the Coke Zero with cherry! It actually tastes more cherry-y than regular Cherry Coke (I guess they’re calling it CocaCola Cherry now though, huh?)

Summer mix? maybe that’ll help usher a return of Holiday Spice. God if they brought that back this Christmas I would promise to not drink anything else the entire time it was on the shelf.
Welcome back, Matt. Even though it’s a fever, your first lines made me think of some old cold remedy commercial. Someone shoves a seventeen-foot-long sandwich in the face of the afflicted and says, “You gotta feeeeeeeed a cold!”
Anyone else remember this, or better yet, know the product for sure, or still even better yet, have a link to an archived video or some such thing?

I wanted to try Pepsi Summer Mix because of the cool-looking can, but I quickly thought better of it. Instead, we bought some Welch’s Strawberry Soda because it was on sale for like 2.50 or something. Man, that stuff is good.

I didnt like either. I now like how coke has 4 levels of coke on a health meter: Coke, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, and Diet Coke Plus.

I have to admit, neither of these sodas get me excited. But, the Diet Coke is in such a pretty pretty can.
Thorzul- I remember that commercial. Very Well. The old lady shoving food at the sicky. I cannot remember where it’s from either.

Ah sucks that you’re sick. Is it from smoking?
Just so we’re clear, it’s not your imagination about the medicine aftertaste
Yuck. One try was enough for me a few weeks ago.

So, what’s with ‘New York’ being on the Pepsi can?
Reminds me of the Aqua Teens movie, when they keep putting the New York subtitle on the screen.
Picture it, they are clearly showing a space scene, and it gets identified as New York……yeah, you had to be there. August 14th is it? On DVD, yeah.

I love the Diet Coke Plus artwork. I think it looks like the Colecovision logo.
Personally, I love what off-brand soda companies do with product design. I found something called Mountain Holler———->

Has anyone else noticed the lack of white soda cans lately? it seems all the diets used to be white, and now they are going silver/gold or something else. Maybe soon they’ll get the white can back as a retro look.

I’ve been trying to cut down on soda in general as part of “changing my eating habits” (i.e, a diet), so I haven’t tried either yet. I don’t like diet soda in general (though the Pepsi Jazz Black Cherries ‘n Cream wasn’t bad), but the Summer Mix may be worth a splurge sometime before September. Not because it’s likely to be any good, but because it’s a “limited edition” and I like to try “limited edition” flavors at least once, just to say I know what it tastes like.

Huh, I didn’t even notice that the Pepsi can said “NEW YORK” on it at first. I wonder if the ones here say “OKLAHOMA”…

Annette @ 05/21/2007 11:51 PM EDT
Hmm…The “New York” label just gave me an idea…State Flavored Sodas! What would sodas representing different states taste like?
Florida could be Orange
Georgia could be Peach
New York would taste like polluted water and pizza crust
New Jersey would be like NY, only Diet
and so on.
Also, I’m having a bit of a headache myself (possiubly from allergies), but I will tell you what helped it…Americone Dream! I finally tried it, and I have to say it tastes pretty good. Not a fan of Caramel, but it really doesn’t distract from the overall goodness to me.
Dang, a perfectly good discussion topic gone because of the Approval Bin! Nothing bad was even said either.

I tried Pepsi Summer Mix a while back. I got the impression that Pepsico had taken all of the leftovers of their various failed fruity Pepsi flavor, then dumped them all in a vat and started bottling them.

I tried Summer Mix back 3 or so weeks ago…think I may have mentioned it in the then-current thread. After trying it another couple times, my opinion stands: I think it would make a good popsicle.

My Summer Mix can (saved three because it was pretty gross) doesn’t have a city on it at all.
The more I think about it, the more I’d actually like to somehow nab just one can of Pepsi Summer Mix and just keep it sealed for 20 years until it’s obscure and very, very flat.
Speaking of old soda, Matt, I guess I should take this opportunity to say that I thought your soda article was freaking awesome.

I absolutely love the Summer Mix Pepsi (no state on the cans though :). Saw it in Walmart and picked up a case–was gone within a week, which is crazy for me cause I really don’t drink soda that much anymore. Got another half-empty box sitting by my desk now. I need to get a stash built up, since any new flavor of anything that I like (whether limited time or not) always ends up disappearing and not coming back :/

I agree, I hated both new flavors.
I had been telling folks Coke Plus tasted like sucking on a copper penny. From the added Zinc is my theory.
Just yesterday I had Faygo’s Blueberry Raspberry for the 1st time (I’ll drink anything blue) and was equally let down. Very weak. I was expecting blue raspberry Icee power.

I tried the Diet Coke Plus the other day. I actually thought it was sweeter than regular Diet Coke. I didn’t really like the flavor. My girlfriend felt the same way. I wish I could still find the Diet Vanilla Black Cherry Coke, but I think they discontinued that one. Until then, I guess I’ll stick with Diet Coke Minus.

Ghosted by
Greg @ 05/22/2007 10:25 AM EDT
Brandon and Greg, the sweeter taste is probably from the added acesulfame potassium, opposed to diet coke which is only sweetened with aspartame.
Annette I know the 20oz bottles of Pepsi Summer Mix don’t say “Oklahoma” on them, not sure about the cans.
Has V8 ditched the tiny little can? Sure, I like getting a 12 oz bottle of V8 goodness, but where’s the fun? Where’s the love? Where’s the fun love?
Sorry for the double post, but is Pepsi Summer Mix anything like the Tropical Chill Pepsi from years ago? Anybody that can remember what it tastes like, that is.
http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0961/
I didn’t dig the Diet Coke Plus. I can taste the zinc in it and if anyone has ever used one of the Cold-Eeze products, they know what I mean. zinc has a very odd after effect on taste that can often last several hours. There’s not enough of it in this product to really affect taste afterwards, but I can taste it while consuming it.
Coke needs to bring back Vanilla Diet Coke and Pepsi really needs to bring back the Slice One lineup of sodas they had out at some retail outlets last summer.

Shakedog, you’re in luck my friend:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla_Coke
As of this month you’re going to start seeing Vanilla Coke again. Another article I read said it’s not supposed to be a common sight until around June-July, though.
Two of the Subway’s I’ve eaten at inside OKC metro Wal-Marts have had Vanilla Coke fountain drinks as of a couple months ago, which is the only reason why I go to eat at a Subway located within a Wal-Mart.
So Zinc, eh? That’s the culprit…bleck.

Anybody here ever tried Steven Segal’s Lightning Bolt energy drinks? I’ve tried the red and blue labels (one of which is “Asian Experience” flavor, whatever that means) I read somewhere there’s an orange label that’s Root Beer Rush.
These are by far the worst drinks I’ve ever tasted besides the Jones Soda holiday packs.
$1 a can at Wal Mart if you’ve never tried them, they have a sweet ass picture of lame ass Segal on the can too.

I haven’t had soda in ages, and the other day I drank a bottle of ramune (it had Hello Kitty on it, therefore I knew I must have it) and it made me oh-so sick. And those bottles are only 6.6 ounces! My god that Pepsi Summer Mix tastes like crap. It’s a hard to swallow tropical fruit drink that is too sweet. I bet that even if Coca Cola did a flavor like that it would probably be still too sweet but a little easier to go down. (Coke is generally easier to drink in my opinion)
I will say that Pepsi’s other fruit flavor drinks - Sunkist Orange and Hawaiian Punch among - are better than Coke’s fruit drinks, but Coca Cola still has the best soda.

doho - I don’t think you understand the extent of the torture: I just finished writing about a manuscript called “Shattered Dreams” which is a horrible, insipid autobiography about nothing interesting at all. Imagine a what college literary magazine gets for submissions; imagine the quality of the rejects; then expand those bad poems or short stories into epic works of fiction and autobiography.
I have to summarize these.
Unfortunately, aside from the authors, I’m the only one who has ever (or more than likely will ever) read them.
Check out the stuff that actually gets published: http://dorrancebookstore.com/biog1.html
If it’s any consolation, Jessica, you made me feel a lot less stressed about all the names of body innards I have to memorize for tomorrow.

1) Vanilla Coke Coming Back: HELL YA!!! Finally! Thank you! Now I can throw out those 2 bottles of Vanilla Coke stashed in my basement for the last 3 or so years…
2) Pepsi Summer Mix: Whomever said that it tasted like someone dropped Fruit Stripe Gum into some Pepsi, you were dead-on. Count me in on the “Not Liked” list. It seems like they took all the different fruit flavors they had (Lemon, Lime, Cherry, Black Cherry) and some other unidentifiable flavors, probably left over from Slice and Hawaiian Punch, and put them in the same soda saying “Screw it, stick a Mango on the can and call it Tropical!” I managed to finish it, but I won’t get it again. I’m saving the can for Posterity (a mistake I made with Holiday Spice by not saving the bottle)
3) I’m thinking of compiling a list of the Greatest Animated Villains of All Time. Anyone have any suggestions? For the ones you list, can you please explain why? I’d like to know.
@ Invader Norbert, Question #3: I would definitely include the Unibrow Baby from the Simpsons on that list. And Santa from the Futurama X-mas episodes.
Also, has anyone noticed that Coke changed their can design? When did this happen? Anyway, I approve. It’s all minimalist and just red and white (probably cheaper that way). It looks better.

Megatron: He actually kills Prime. Okay, well, maybe it was Hot Rod’s fault, which is why people think Hot Rods kind of a douche, but still.
Unicron: A planet that turns into a robot. Let me say that again:
A planet
That turns
Into a robot
Plus, he eats smaller Transformers.
Wheelie. Everybody hates Wheelie, so he might as well be a villain.
Hordak. He could turn into a rocket, duh…
Little known fact that the guy who did Megatron’s voice (Frank Welker) also did Dr. Claw’s voice on Inspector Gadget.
What I didn’t know, as the mighty Wikipedia has just taught me, is that the voice he used was actually Soundwaves voice minus the processing used to make Soundwave sound cool.

JLAJRC - Sorry to hear about Kelly, you guys are having a rough time.
I was petrified both of the spirit in the book from the original Care Bears movie as well as the really, really creepy Baron DeGhost from The Fantastic Adventures of Unico. In the end he gets skewered on a spire and it’s super graphic; If my mom had known about that, there’s no way I would have seen it at 3 or 4 years old.
JM: Are you implying that “Malice Toward None: Remembering Pittsburgh Mayor Joe Barr” isn’t the greatest book ever written?

Ghosted by

I could never imply such a thing, though you may infer it…also, I’ve lived in Pittsburgh for only 5 years and cannot possibly comment on anyone besides Bob O’Connor and Luke Ravenstahl.
If I were allowed, I would post excerpts from the ones I read - the ones that nobody will ever see because the authors don’t realize what “subsidy” means - and you would feel so good about any writing you’ve ever done. Trite poetry, sappy children’s stories, autobiographies of regular people who think they’ve lead a unique life…mostly written without a thought for structure, grammar, spelling, etc. Some have the audacity to write their own cover copies that include phrases like “Soon to be a major motion picture.” Especially the sci-fi manuscripts.
It’s a great job in general - working from home is awesome - but I’m a week away from a vacation and feeling very, very unmotivated.

The limited edition retro starburst they have out now one of the flavors is “Optimus Lime” Even though I am not a fan of that stuff (don’t wanna tell you what that’s from) I still think that is funny, I might get a pack just for a thumbs up to starburst for hiring good writers!

I had heard about them before. How does it taste?
I always kind of thought of they did make a candy out of Optimus, it would be flavored kind of like Smurfberry cereal. He’s basically the same colors.

Sorry to hear it JLA. I had to put my dogs down within the span of 6 months. And during that time my girlfriend of 4 and 1/2 years broke up with me. Life was pretty grand back then.
Anyways, with the launch of the movie is going to bring with it some interesting promotional items. Although I was able to resist (for now) Darth Tater, it would seem Mr Poato Head has completed a face turn as he is now Optimash Prime.

Dallas - DR. CLAW!
My favourite villain is *any* villain from The Tick. I bought The Tick Vs. Season 1 on DVD.. man did I miss that show! Also bought Dinosaurs! on DVD.. seasons 3 and 4 (one set!) Now I need to get Seasons 1 and 2.. On drinks.. I’m a fan of Vanilla Coke and the regular Ampd Energy drinks.. Right now I’m drinking Dead Guy Ale.. Very good..
There must be something in New York water, Matt, because I spent almost all day Thursday in the emergency room and Friday through Sunday admitted into the hospital. Bacterial or viral infection, they said. Man, eating nothing but liquids for a week was fun. Not.
Hope you’re recouperating as well as I am! I’m on a low fiber low fat diet for a while till my stomach straightens itself back out, which is the first time I’ve ever had to be on a restrictive diet…and it’s awful. I want Taco Bell and to try those new cheeseburgery Doritos and to down lots of Shrek shakes, but alas, I cannot have any of those things for a while. Cry.
Pepsi Summer Mix I’ve had, and I can’t decide if I like it or not. At first, I was kinda grossed out, but the more I drank it, the more I liked it. I can’t drink diet sodas because my stomach doesn’t tolerate any sugar substitutes, so I’ll pass at vitamin-enhanced diet soda. Eyuck.

JLAJRC, I’m really sorry to hear about your pup.
I was all gleeful a couple weeks ago when I discovered the local Rubio’s still had Vanilla Coke at the fountain. I assumed they’d never gotten rid of it because I’ve seen it there before, but now I wonder if it’s a part of the comeback? Whatever, the important thing is I got my favorite mixer back.

Villains, Norb? Honestly, I think pretty much any of the Disney ones are pretty good. Maleficent, Jafar, the Evil Queen from Snow White, even Gaston to name a few. All good bets. Going from TV… what did I even watch? I think Roger Klotz is kind of a good villain type (maybe just an often-jerk), and I second Dr. Claw.

Best villian: The red furry monster guy with the red and white Converse sneakers from Bugs Bunny (Dr. Claw from Gadget is great, but you never once get to see his face).
Best Character on TV: Disco Stu from Simpsons, period!
Worst Cartoons (Tie): Mr. T cartoon
GI Joe. OK, I realize millions of people are screaming bloody murder over the seemingly ridiculous idea of me listing GI Joe as the worst cartoon, but put down your torches and pitchforks and hear why. How can anyone watch a war show (cartoon or otherwise) where no one EVER dies? I was in grade school and even then found that concept to be pretty stupid!

Diet Coke Plus is not bad. I prefer it over regular Diet Coke, in fact. It has less of that bitter aftertaste.

Ghosted by
The Kraken @ 05/24/2007 10:56 AM EDT
Diet Coke has no aftertaste, at least not after drinking it for 10 years. The Diet Coke Plus on the other hand…what swill.
The odds of no one dying in the GI Joe cartoon must have been miniscule considering whenever there was a battle there were about 10 gazillion laser beams shooting from each side.
Firefly was my favorite.

meepy @ 05/24/2007 11:08 AM EDT
Anybody yet to try these new Monster energy drinks? There’s “M-80″ which is a fruit juice type thing, I don’t know, I’ve just read about it, but haven’t seen nor tried them. The other 3 are the Java Monsters, “Mean Bean” which is supposed to be like a vanilla capp, “Big Black” I’m assuming is a simple coffee flavor, and “Loca Moca” which I’m going out on a limb on this one, but I do believe it’s supposed to be a mocha flavor.
I’m going to pick up a “Big Black” this evening and see how I like it, everybody seems to love the taste.
I like the fact that no one dies except for the android dudes in GI Joe. It’s the same for the A Team. Hand grenades are an effective tool to make the bad guys flip in the air and dust themselves off while running away.
I miss that era of TV. The shock value of TV today has made me desensitised to pretty much anything.

Cartoon Villain: I always thought that Cruella de Ville would rank way up there on this list. The concept of someone scheming to skin 101 puppies to make a fur coat had to be scary as hell to a bunch of kids.
Never thought Cobra commander as much of a villain as so much as just plain incompetent. All that time and he couldn’t take candy from a baby.
I mean what was with that whole Chi pet plot anyway?

I like Pepsi Summer Mix because it reminds me of the old tropical Pepsi that came out with the strawberry and raspberry kinds a while back. The new Vanilla Coke Zero is good, too.
Diet Coke Plus, on the other hand, is kinda gross. At first, I couldn’t taste the difference, and I said “I’ll start drinking this instead of Diet Coke because it’ll be better for me.” But the further I got into my little mini 8 or so oz bottle, the more I experienced the crushed up Flinstones aftertaste. Ick. Never again, Diet Coke Plus. There’s definitely a noticeable difference to me.

Man was I confused for a second: I didn’t remember ever saying I never watched LOST…then I read on :)….and heck yeah I will watch LOST when it comes back; only two years left and now the whole flip thing is very interesting to me…I’m not sure when it started to take so long to make episodes for a TV show, but complaining won’t fix the fact it won’t be back until January…grrr….
Best cartoon villians? For me one was Sam Hain from the Real Ghostbusters…remember, he was the spirit of Halloween basically a pumpkin head with a robe….really dug him as a villian (I provide a wiki link on my name)…all my others have been named…
I watched Gremlins today for the first time in what had to be decades…really great little time travel movie….best part? When my little nephew asked, “why were their cd’s so big?” when he saw the record playing….{sigh}…he makes me feel old sometimes…it’s funny how fast technology has advanced since 1984, so much so that kids today do not even know records, or even cassette tapes….wierd…but this is the kid who thought the first Mario game was Mario Sunshine…he’s smart, but he’s only six…

Nice suggestions everyone. I’m actually trying to compile a Top 50, and these were all good suggestions. I was looking for any genre of animation (traditional, stop-motion, CG, anime, etc)
I have a few that no one said yet:
Feathers MacGraw from “The Wrong Trousers”
Judge Doom from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (sorry for the 8 people who didn’t see this for spoiling the ending)
Plankton from “Spongebob” (as much as the show sold out and sucks, I still think he was awesome)
Richard Nixon’s Head from “Futurama” (several good villains from there, like Mom, the Omicronians, Robot Devil, Robot Santa)
Maleficient
Hades (Hercules)
Jafar
Team Rocket
*whispers* Candle Jack from Freakazoid (again, a show with many great villains)
Many villains from “Darkwing Duck” come to mind, especially Megavolt, who was my favorite.
Well hell, if Malificent and Hades made it why not just take the entirety of Organization XIII. Just stick ‘em at the end of the list. Then you only have to do 37 more.

Had company, so I’ll post this while everyone is asleep: I followed instructions today and bought a bottle of the Pepsi Summer Mix….it tasted like Pepsi, with an after-taste of Kool-Aid…and acid…I’m sure there was some acid in there at the beginning. It’s one of the few drinks I can recall leaving a totally different taste in my mouth after I swallowed it, and that made me a little nervous. That went away, however, as I finished it…maybe the after-taste was lost in the flavors of cheap pizza I had for dinner along with it….
And can I also say that, even though I may be in the minority, I was so glad to see Studio 60 again tonight…and realize again just how great this show was. Maybe it’s because I can relate to the show in many ways, but I don’t know, it’s just so quick and entertaining to watch….

I’m honored that you would name me as a villain. Unfortunately, a Galvatron crossed with a Sith never made the drawing board. That would been almost as awesome as C’Boath crossed with a Prime. Just more stable ( I bet there are about 5 people who know what I’m referring to)
Whoever mentioned Organizaion XIII is spot on.
I completely forgot the Real Ghostbusters has a nemesis.
Shaunfu I still don’t get how Welker didn’t get Megs even if the designs are complete garbage. He did voice a majroity of out childhoods and people don’t even realze it. Speaking of, the ESPN zone has a huge billboard of Prime and Megs on it. I almost popped a boner looking at it today when I drove by. Matt you need to take a pic.

There was a real charm to it back then. That’s what I want a Time Machine for, to re-witness Pop Culture from my own lifetime. KISS dolls, Evel Knievel, Star Wars, Where’s the Beef, Shogun Warriors (MAZINGA!), G1 TransFormers, Lawn Darts, Battery-operated water guns, Lazer Tag, novelty transistor radios in odd shapes, Trapper Keepers, WKRP the first time around, Farrah Fawcett posters, PONG, the UFO craze, the Pyramid Power craze, Jack Palance hosting Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Jack Palance on Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century, Police Squad!….

In other randomness….
Don’t think I ever mentioned that weird shit appears on the side of the road in front of my house. The first weird thing was a pink teddy bear that could have only belonged to the people from “The Hills Have Eyes”; we refused to touch it thinking it was how ’someone’ chose their next target -you pick it up, you get tortured kinda thing. Mysteriously it disappeared. Then a month or so later there was a trash bag that had ’something’ in it…maybe the body of the person who picked up the pink teddy?? Then it too disappeared. Today, after I went for a four hour round trip to Atlanta and back, I return home to find two large (big tv size) cardboard boxes…one on each side of the road, sitting in such a way that they could not have just fallen off a truck…no, there must be something more to these boxes…I really want to investigate, but I’m skeered….
Also, looks like tonight will be the night that I test the waters and see if a man can truly have a friendship with the ‘bears’…here’s hoping it all goes well…it’s been almost a month since the last encounter. And Bill, uncanny timing as usual man :)…it was like you somehow knew what I had planned for today…
Now I’m skeered of Bill, too

Hell, it was this website that convinced me to buy a Boglin off of Ebay and made me feel less alone in being a 13-year-old who’s obsessed with 80’s shenanigans. First comment I’ve posted here, since I’ve been too nervous to post so far. I dunno why…you’re just too awesome I guess.
In other news…just got a Gizmo backpack. A fuzzy one with a way oversized torso for stuffing books in, though all I could fit in the thing was a pocket dictionary. It definately both surprises and makes me warm and fuzzy inside that they still make ‘Gremlins’ stuff. Gremlins is one of my favourite things of all time? Who doesn’t want a mogwai? Who doesn’t want to see gremlins drinking alcohol, with popcorn bags on their ears, getting blown up in microwaves and/or shredded in paper shredders depending on the film? You gotta love it.
Thanks for all so far. I’ll try to post more often, but I’m always up to date on the articles.
Feel better!

Pepsi Summer Mix = a whole bag of gummi worms stuffed into a can of soda… mixed with a little bit of Pepsi.

I just tonight thought to see if Matt had reviewed this abomination. Hence my post almost a month later. The first drink was like the flouride that they put on your teeth at the dentist. Which is in direct opposition to a soda’s high sugar content.
