Somehow I knew that there would be a lapdance in that. So, can I assume she was with the guy she starts making out with? And I can’t get over teh way she just “collapses”, quite the catch kb…or not, depending on how you look at it.

“a FABULOUS afternoon” That makes me chuckle.

I don’t care what anyone says, 300 was great. Plot and acting included. Happy SNT.

Oh yeah, and Daylight Savings Time sucks in the Spring. It rules in the fall though.

Chestnuts roasted by HapyScrapy @ 03/11/2007 4:06 AM

Hiiiiiiii everyone,

I spent the day working at the Irish pub that I work at…..it was alright, made a few hundred dollars in tips…

I’ve been working on lucid dreaming lately..click my name for more info…

anyways damn clocks going ahead….time for beddie byes…nighttt

Chestnuts roasted by Gralf @ 03/11/2007 4:15 AM

Hah, a Jones boiled egg flavor soda would be awesome. And putrid. So it would be feasible, right? And maybe a chocolate rabbit flavor or something, just chocolate soda.

Chestnuts roasted by Supragenius @ 03/11/2007 4:25 AM

My day was bland.

I finally moved the rest of my stuff into my apartment, some six weeks after moving in. Went and saw 300 and was pretty impressed with how far Zack Snyder made a 60 million dollar budget go.

I’ve got a stack of Dario Argento movies that have yet to be viewed that I might start on, but I’ve got a research paper I should be writing, too.

I hate losing an hour. It means I have to go to work an hour sooner. I like the afternoons being longer though.

Chestnuts roasted by Wukong @ 03/11/2007 4:25 AM

Oooh Wukong did you see the Pelts episode of Masters of Horror (directed by Argento)? So good. Probably my favorite one, with the possible exception of the John Landis “George Wendt dissolves people in his basement” ep.
Lucid dreaming would be awesome. I notice though that their “Why attempt to have lucid dreams?” page says nothing about macking with celebrities. I’m sorry, but I’m going out on a limb and saying people would be more interested in that than, say, “pushing your car to its maximum speed (and beyond)” or “trying out new behaviours and testing yourself under different situations and scenarios” ;) .
Hang on a minute…now that we’ve spring forward, does this mean the blog time is correct again?

Anyone wanna play Mario Kart DS with me? Ah, man, why did I chose today to sleep 60 hours?

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 03/11/2007 5:41 AM

hate…time….change…..I just woke up from a deep sleep, now I can’t sleep but need to be up in a few hours anyway….suckage

Chestnuts roasted by Shuanfu @ 03/11/2007 6:48 AM

Arghh…I hate the time change, too…

On the subject of dreams: the recurring nightmare that I have is that I’m late for something…Like late for work or school (when I was in school). And I don’t mean simply late…no, there’s usually a whole series of cataclysmic events that cause me to be late, events that are way out of my control…Usually I wake up from these dreams in a sweat and almost panicking…but then I look at the clock and realize that I’m not late, and I wasn’t even CLOSE to being late.

Weird…

Chestnuts roasted by Cameron T. @ 03/11/2007 9:20 AM

I guess I’m the exception in the fact that I love the time change and am glad it’s here even earlier for now on. I love it when it’s 9 o’clock and still daylight outside.

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 03/11/2007 10:11 AM

I too have “Irrational Front Teeth being Knocked Out in a Bloody Mess Fear,” esp when it comes to going down stairs.

Belated happy SNT. My weekends are usually pretty quiet. Bear in mind, my weekends start at about 2:15 on Wednesday afternoon. I only work Monday and Tuesday (20 hours) and I have a bowling class (for college credit, mind you) on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. And for those who might be wondering, yes, you can eat and buy yourself beer during class; you are still technically a paying customer.

As for Shamrock Shakes, we still don’t have them in our area (So. Cal). My brother, Hoverbored, who works at our local McDonald’s says he doesn’t think they are going to have them this year, or the stuff would have been put out already. BTW, for those who have not yet had any of the 1/3 lb. Angus burgers, you’re not missing much.

NEW TOPIC: define “Asasaisiasi.”

Chestnuts roasted by Mars @ 03/11/2007 2:23 PM

KB: It’s like watching a car wreck. I nominate you for an XE emmy for best picture.

K: It’s been a few years since I was in college taking psychology. That probably explains my 5th grade level definition.

Chestnuts roasted by Bill @ 03/11/2007 2:30 PM

As-as-ai-si-asi: Noun Plural. A collective of leaves that have turned brown and fell off a tree during the wrong season. This is a rare phenomenon.

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 03/11/2007 2:48 PM

Joey: Other than Cadbury Eggs and jellybeans, does Easter even have any food associated with it? I know around here my mom basically makes the same stuff she makes for Thanksgiving, although ham is made instead of turkey.

Saw 300 yesterday, not a bad flick, but not that interesting either. HBO’s Rome is better.

Chestnuts roasted by JLAJRC @ 03/11/2007 3:24 PM

Man, I could never even attempt that lucid dreaming stuff. The way people describe it reminds me of the sleep paralysis stage I went through between the ages of eight and twelve. Nothing like waking up with the feeling that something massive is sitting on your chest while sensing that something else is standing at the foot of your bed hating you as hard as it can, all without being able to move a muscle. I finally solved the problem by never, ever sleeping on my back, and didn’t find out years later that it’s not an uncommon occurrence. So it would have been sort of nice to know back in the day that A) I wasn’t actually going insane and that B) demons weren’t actually trying to kill me once a week. Good times.

Chestnuts roasted by Jedoc @ 03/11/2007 4:07 PM

I have just about the opposite problem. I involuntarily jerk my legs when I sleep.

Chestnuts roasted by Mystie @ 03/11/2007 4:22 PM

JLAJRC

Uh, solid/hollow chocalate bunnies? And DEVILLED EGGS. And hard-boiled eggs. And colored eggs. Basically eggs. Ham is a must. Although, we have Ham on Thanksgiving, too.

Chestnuts roasted by Cameron T. @ 03/11/2007 4:25 PM

Nothing like waking up with the feeling that something massive is sitting on your chest

Is this the result of “waking up” during what is typically REM sleep, with the concomitent lack of muscle tone?

Reminds me of how you deprive a rat of REM sleep. You put him in a cage that has water on the floor of the cage and a small, upside down pot (or other podium). They can stay on the podium, out of the water as long as they are awake. As soon as they hit REM sleep, they lose muscle tone and fall off the podium into the water, waking them up and depriving them of REM sleep.

Quite ingenius, eh?

Before anyone says that this is “mean,” know that it is (or at least was) a viable method of REM deprivation, used to study that effects of said deprivation.

Chestnuts roasted by K- @ 03/11/2007 4:26 PM

You hit it, K-: “Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain is awakened from a REM state into essentially a normal fully awake state, but the bodily paralysis is still occurring. This causes the person to be fully aware, but unable to move. In addition, this state may be accompanied by hypnagogic hallucinations.” Jedoc, that sucks that you had to experience it without knowing what it was…Wikipedia also says that it can be preceded by a lucid dream, so you’re spot on as well.
It hard to compare Rome and 300, since the format is so different, even if they’re similar on the surface. Rome has a tendency to cheap out on battle scenes, for one thing, but they have a lot more room to develop characterization. Can you believe we only get a few more episodes? :( I still really miss Max Perkis as Octavian, but otherwise the last few episodes have been good fun.

I just knocked off another Fish Sandwich, this time the BK one…it was good at first, but then 1/2 hour later…I felt absolutely terrible. Ugh, literally fishy aftertaste. It only reminded me why I don’t go there.

And comedian Richard Jeni died early today/’ast night due to suicide by self-inflicted gunshot wound. Damn, I loved that guy, but I heard he was under a bad illness and probably didn’t want to suffer anymore. :(

Chestnuts roasted by Invader Norbert @ 03/11/2007 6:37 PM

my main weird fear is the build a bear workshop. I hate that hell hole. I went in there one time and the worker there told the girl to kiss the bears heart to give it life and then she put the heart in the empty skin and then stuck it’s ass on the nozzle and it suddenly was a bear. It has completely scarred me from there on out.

Chestnuts roasted by danny @ 03/11/2007 11:49 PM

Dude, Build-A-Bear workshop is the best. You’ve got a mother, you’ve got a girlfriend, a child, you buy them a bear and I assure you they will love it.

Hell, I love it. I have a Hello Kitty Build-A-Bear.

You can buy clothing and accessories, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Little slice of heaven. I’d love to work there.

Everyone one here knows I’m dead serious :D
