Happy SNT! I’m spending my Saturday in, playing Wii and catching up on my Netflix movies. Anyone have any opinions on Tristam Shandy or The Marine?

Éste es el nacimiento de mi timidez.

Ghosted by Jose Murphy @ 03/10/2007 8:14 PM EST

im spending my nite eating pierogi, probably playing marvel ultimate alliance on ps2 and eventually doing something productive. ah, nerddom. hey matt, how about an update for the main page, this site is the only thing that keeps me sane at work.

I am gleefully a first-time poster, enjoying a rainy day in Seattle and trolling through the archives for articles i might not have read yet. Or rather reading things i’ve forgotten that I read many years ago. Oh, and being introduced to Deadwood while the New Super Mario kicks my tail.

Ghosted by astro-greg @ 03/10/2007 8:20 PM EST

Neat. I usually don’t get in this early.

…now if only I had something to say. I still don’t have a Wii. Anyone wanna play Mario Kart DS with me?

Still no Shamrock Shake…More SNT-type stuff from me later.

Ghosted by Invader Norbert @ 03/10/2007 8:41 PM EST

A week from St. Patty’s Day and I still haven’t found a Shamrock Shake yet. Cripes.

Welcome astro-greg!

My husband is out at a board-game-playing thing, and has been since noon, I don’t expect him back anytime soon. We’re getting kind of into board games…it’s like this whole other realm of nerdiness that I didn’t know existed.

I love having time to myself. Maybe I should blog, or do something crafty, or listen to embarrassing music. The possibilities…

I’m listening to FOB right now. You don’t have to have time to listen to embarrassing music. You make it. :P

I have a Wii, but I also have MKDS. Sure…

I went to see Bridge to Terabithia again today. Has anyone else seen that? So good, I cried. Ahh. Happy SNT!

Ghosted by kb @ 03/10/2007 9:16 PM EST

Whoo! SNT!.. I spent the day building a light box to take still life pictures in. Yeah, exciting, huh?

Anyway, US people, don’t forget to spring forward tonight! (ugh…not looking forward to it…)

Ghosted by Cameron T. @ 03/10/2007 9:32 PM EST

Today is my birthday. Whoopty-doo.

Ghosted by Jim @ 03/10/2007 9:38 PM EST

Happy bday Jim!

My car broke down today. =( So no going out tonight. Just gonna watch the Big East tourney with some Sam Adams.

Ghosted by K- @ 03/10/2007 9:45 PM EST

Happy birthday, Jim!

I spent my Saturday with my parents and grandparents, ripping out half a mile of four-strand barbed wire on cedar posts. Damned fence had to be the original section marker the homesteaders put up in 1890. On that note, is anyone interested in purchasing some original XIT ranch ribbon wire? We’re tearing out about four miles of it next, and I’m sure you could spend the rest of your life productively selling it off in six-inch sections at state fairs and gun shows.

Ghosted by Jedoc @ 03/10/2007 9:47 PM EST

Oooh! kb- it was fantastic! I’ve been psyched about it since last year, and I finally got to go yesterday. If I have the opportunity, I’ll definitely be back at the theatre. Great book, great movie.

Happy birthday, Jim and welcome, astro-greg!

Ghosted by Rainbowfeet @ 03/10/2007 10:05 PM EST

I did errands, got called into work, which was thankfully quiet due to the warm weather, and will spend the rest of tonight browsing and chatting with friends online. That’s about as exciting as my Saturdays get.

Ghosted by starwenn @ 03/10/2007 10:11 PM EST

Happy Birthday Jim!

K- I made time to listen to embarrassing music, but I’m watching an even more embarrassing tv show – BBC’s Robin Hood. It’s my guiltiest almost-pleasure…it sucks so bad, yet I can’t stop watching.

Ghosted by Jessica Marie @ 03/10/2007 10:12 PM EST

All I did today was see 300. It’s not bad.

BTW, does anyone know why Jones Soda doesn’t do anything special for Easter like the other holidays?

Ghosted by JLAJRC @ 03/10/2007 10:18 PM EST

Yay! I’m glad to see some new activity here.

I haven’t done anything interesting today. Ate some so-so Mexican food, played with my cats. I’m now in my room listening to Guided by Voices, wishing my tooth would stop hurting and that I could afford to go to a dentist. Yeah…real exciting.

Ghosted by Astro Zombie @ 03/10/2007 10:36 PM EST

Wow! I finally made an SNT in real time!

Right now I’m just taking a break from hospital duty with my mom. She’s in ICU after having emergency surgery. They’ve got it under control and the doctors feel pretty good about the situation, but if anyone would like to say a word or two for her, it would be MUCH appreciated!

On a more upbeat note… I’M ENGAGED!!!!! Woooooo!

And now it’s back to the hospital for visiting hour. Happy SNT, evareebuddy!

Ghosted by Special K @ 03/10/2007 10:36 PM EST

Has anyone here actually been to a Long John Silver’s? It’s one of my stops on the “Lent Fast Food Fish Sandwich Challenge” and I wanna hear a second opinion before going there. A friend of mine tells me to skip it entirely, but I want someone to say something.

Speaking of a topic, anyone have any guilty fast food pleasures? We all know that all this fast food crap is terrible for us, but what do you usually love for some reason? For me, obviously the Fish sandwiches, whether it comes from White Castle, McDs, etc.

Ghosted by Invader Norbert @ 03/10/2007 10:39 PM EST

LJS is coronary on a tray :-P

Ghosted by K- @ 03/10/2007 10:43 PM EST

Also, there is a hotdog joint that we have called Das Wiener Works. They have the greatest shakes in the history of mankind. They go out of business about once a year, but they always come back.

This time they’re called Hot Diggity Dog.

They have all the dogs :D

Ghosted by K- @ 03/10/2007 10:45 PM EST

I spent a good chunk of today staring at the ceiling thinking about how bored I am and wondering what to do to remedy the situation. At one point I climbed full clothed into the shower and stared at my face in the shiny shower head and thought how it reminded me of Prince John staring into the crystal ball in Robin Hood. Then I bought stuff online and did some freelance work. Kinda dull Saturday. *shrug*

Ghosted by Mystie @ 03/10/2007 10:45 PM EST

Invader Norbert sorry they are building the first LJS here. Been working on it for awhile and I keep forgetting about it until I go to PoJos to play Skee-Ball

Ghosted by mrjayberry @ 03/10/2007 10:51 PM EST

Congrats Special K and happy b-day Jim!

I’ve had two shamrock shakes so far… it’s not enough. Oh, and I saw 300 yesterday. It was awesome. Not heavy on the story but visually it was spectacular. My favorite character would have to be the fat, mutated executioner with blades attached to his stubs. He was only on screen for a couple seconds, but he captured my heart.

Happy SNT!

Ghosted by Joker @ 03/10/2007 11:06 PM EST

I already set my clock ahead and I am listening to Pink Floyd (Piper at the Gates of Dawn) and surfing the net while trying to make my self tired enough to go to bed a whole hour earlier than normal.

Happy B-Day, Jim!

Ghosted by Cameron T. @ 03/10/2007 11:13 PM EST

Glad to see he SNT is as blah as I am.

Spent the day putting up a swingset. No where near done. And now zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Ghosted by The Manimal @ 03/10/2007 11:45 PM EST

Special K – Congratulations! Marriage is really hard so much fun. And I hope your mom gets well soon, emergencies suck.

Fast food guilt, Invader Norbert? I’m usually a pretty organic girl, but sometimes I just really love a McDonalds cheeseburger.

Ghosted by Jessica Marie @ 03/10/2007 11:46 PM EST

JLAJRC, what Easter soda flavors do you have in mind? Chocolate Bunny? Hard Boiled Egg?

Ghosted by Joey the Girl @ 03/10/2007 11:47 PM EST

Cross-promotion time!

Cadbury Cream Soda, FTW!!!

Happy Saturday Night Thread! SNT. Sierah /November /Tango.

Ghosted by Bill @ 03/10/2007 11:51 PM EST

spent the night drinking Gin and Tonics and eating Gino’s Pizza Rolls what a great SNT

Ghosted by jvicious @ 03/10/2007 11:53 PM EST

This is wierd. Does anyone have quirky fears? I have always felt a fear when standing next to skycrapers. It’s the wierdest thing. Afraid of hieghts from the ground-up? wtf.

Ghosted by Bill @ 03/11/2007 12:00 AM EST

Actually Bill, it’s funny that you say that because I’ve felt the same way. I’ve been to the Sears Tower on numerous occasions and I can’t shake the feeling that the fucker would fall down on me.

Ghosted by Jvicious @ 03/11/2007 12:11 AM EST

The other thing that has always freaked me out is somehow falling face first on a concrete surface and fucking up my front teeth. Ever since I saw that flick “Last house on the Left” where one of the characters has this nightmare sequence where this chick knocks out both of his front teeth with a hammer and a chisel, I’ve been nagged by this feeling that I’ll somehow wind up with a bloody face and two or three of my front teeth knocked out in a bloody mess.

Ghosted by jvicious @ 03/11/2007 12:22 AM EST

I feel that way at Home Depot. Those pallets of fresh lumber and those lovely sink-tops are going to kill me.

Ghosted by K- @ 03/11/2007 12:22 AM EST

I’m scared of ventriloquist dummies, and every time a trailer for Dead Silence comes on I totally piss myself.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 03/11/2007 12:23 AM EST

Thanks K, now I’m haunted by visions of falling in a drunken stupor in the bathroom and fucking my teeth up on the bathroom sink.

Ghosted by jvicious @ 03/11/2007 12:28 AM EST

I’m scared to death of porcelain dolls. My mom still has her childhood collection and I swear they can see into my soul.

Ghosted by Jeff Mack @ 03/11/2007 12:29 AM EST

Jvicious: Whoa. I have a front tooth fear also. I was drinking a beer and this girl backed up and the bottle cracked my front tooth. It was so hard I thought for sure it was out. Just a chip. Really sucked and it still gives me the willies.

I think my skyscraper fear is from when I was a kid. I think someone told me that God can shut off the gravity if your naughty. Pretty technical for a threat.

Ghosted by Bill @ 03/11/2007 12:29 AM EST

Yes, SNT!

Special K, all the best for you.

And happy birthday Jim!
(I kinda feel like George, in that Seinfeld where he gets the new job and its “Karen’s” office birthday, and he gives a toast, and teh two guys next to him shake their heads…just because I’m sorta new here)

Hey Lilly, I’ve been meaning to listen to Animals for a while, so I think I’ll do that tonight.-In the meantime I’m gonna stream Astronomy Domine off progarchives.

So I pretty well pissed today away. Woke up at 1, had A&W for supper. God that place is expensive.

Ghosted by Tutsuro @ 03/11/2007 12:30 AM EST

Invader Norbert if you skip Long John Silver’s you’re doing yourself a serious disservice. Go, get whatever it is you’re looking for plus hush puppies and fries, and then be amazed that they’ve brought everything to you on little piles of fried batter drops. Spectacular.

Ghosted by canoesforshoes @ 03/11/2007 12:33 AM EST

Happy Saturday everybody! Congrats Special K, happy birthday Jim and welcome astro-greg! Jose Murphy, I’ve been trying to decide if you’re being poetic or what. ¡Si usted es nuevo escritor en el blog, no sea tímido!
I’ve gone from seeing 300 at midnight -> whole work day -> all night paper writing -> midterm this morning, so I’m grateful for not much to do at this point. Though I did find the energy to meader around Target awhile. Easter candy out the ears.
I have a lot of irrational fears, including the old teeth fuckup. Also, that I’ll leave the car windows open overnight and it’ll rain.
