SNT.

I can't decide if I kind of wish it was summer, or kind of wish it was October.  Happy SNT.

Cameron T I don’t know. I’m getting some ideas of how an SNT writing contest could work but I think I want to actually hold this idea off for a while so I can think it through. Like, for in the summmer.

Nes games, Mega Man 2, Tecmo Super Bowl and Hello Kitty World.

I know, I know. It’s easy to blame the toddler for my lack of reading lately but…I blame the toddler.
I did just finish LIKE A HURRICANE a book about the Indian movement from Alcatraz to Wounded Knee 1973 so I am not a complete slacker.

usally I go with summer(and I still will if I get a new job) but at work its terribly hot during the summer. Then again it makes a dip in the river and a cold beer all that more inviting.

So I was at my local mall when I felt I had to move my bowels. Anyway, when I finished I took one quick look, you know, to see what I made. Thats when I noticed that I had passed an entire Red Bean. Now I had passed corn kernels in the past, say after eating a KFC flavor bowl, but a red bean? Was this a magic bean I wondered. But since I was not at home I could not examine it or even pluck it and plant it. No, all I could do would be to flush it away to poo poo land. It was a sad day.

To cover the major topics:

It’s hard to choose October or Summer, mainly because it’s been in the 70′s here all week :) But I alsways liked October; the whole fall vide is awesome….

My three top NES games: TMNT: The Arcade Game, Super Mario 3, and Blaster Master

I think I’m an April kinda guy.

NES games: The Legend of Zelda, River City Ransom, Double Dragon II.

The opening SNL sketch was HILARIOUS. The monologe is also great.

Also, don’t know if anyone is aware of this, but there is a new flavor of Diet Pepsi Jazz called Caramel Cream. It’s actually pretty good compared to the other two Jazz’s and tastes actually like it sounds.

I change Hello Kitty World to River City Ransom, damn I’m stupid.

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 02/25/2007 12:45 AM

i’m going to go with october because my birth day is in that month and there is a minimal chance of a drive by icing which is going on right now outside my window. tommorow everything is going to be covered in a glittery sheen from hell. welcome to ohio.

I’ll take the last week of summer, for 1000 Alex.

“another lonely seaside town
where the seasons closed it down.
but if you close your eyes
you can almost hear the sounds of crowds gone by”

That’s right, I went there.

I’ll take May 7, 2005, FTW.

I went there AGAIN!

Chestnuts roasted by K- assumes this only makes sense to him. @ 02/25/2007 12:52 AM

ok so this peeping tom skit is totally proving that snl uses a laugh track

I’m all for spring. Not too hot, not too cold, and I can start my garden! :)

Chestnuts roasted by Moony @ 02/25/2007 1:08 AM

Am I the only one not watching SNL? I’m listening to End is Forever, since I went and referenced it. I still haven’t really listened to Welcome the Night.

I’m too enwrapped in Infinity on High, which is highly recommended, btw.

Chestnuts roasted by K- @ 02/25/2007 1:11 AM

I’m not watching SNL, because I never ever watch SNL. I don’t know how any of you can sit through it for more than 2 minutes.

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 02/25/2007 1:19 AM

The weather here in SoCal was really nice today. It was comfortable enough to go out in shorts if you wanted to, without getting too hot (it was 80 here last week). As to the topic of indie movies and actors, I must respectfully decline to answer the question, as I myself am not really a fan of independent film, especially as it is so difficult to define an “independent” movie. BTW, I am currently listening to “King Of Suede” by Weird Al Yankovic.

Chestnuts roasted by Thomas @ 02/25/2007 1:27 AM

You’re not, K-. I don’t have broadcast TV, so I’m listening to NPR…oh wait, forgot Coast to Coast is on…

Chestnuts roasted by Moony @ 02/25/2007 1:30 AM

I have two things to say.

#1, I totally got my photo taken with Gary Coleman.

#2, I fucking glomped Donatello in a major way.

*crash*burn*die*

As to the comments about “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”, however confusing and difficult to follow the book and movie may be to follow, you must also consider that the movie was directed by Terry Gilliam, whose movies have a reputation of being rather obtuse. This is coming from someone who’s seen Gilliam’s “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”. Wow, that was weird.

Chestnuts roasted by Thomas @ 02/25/2007 1:34 AM

I constantly have that same debate in my mind.

I love the summertime feelings of summer

I love the halloween and beginning of the holiday season feelings of october.

Chestnuts roasted by Anonymous @ 02/25/2007 1:39 AM

Is that a Walmart employee badge Gary Coleman is wearing?

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 02/25/2007 2:07 AM

Might as well be summer (best part of living on the greater puget sound), because October is not far behind!

NES games: Bubble Bobble, Kung Fu, Super Mario Bros. 3

Chestnuts roasted by Timbo @ 02/25/2007 2:18 AM

Woo! It looks like I got here in time for SNT!

As for the survey…I choose October. I despise summertime because it’s so disgusting and miserable where I live—maybe I’d like it more if I were living somewhere that has cooler summers. October is my favorite month of the year, though it has become kind of gross and hot in recent years thanks to stupid global warming. But if I had a choice, I’d pick January. I’m feeling nostalgic for January 2004, for personal reasons.

I can’t pick a favorite indie movie. Don’t have Netflix, and the theaters and video stores in my area suck.

Chestnuts roasted by Astro Zombie @ 02/25/2007 2:25 AM

1. Given that my heater is currently broken and I’m wearing like, three shirts and a cardigan, I’ll take summer.

2. Does Priscilla, Queen of the Desert count as an indie film?

3. My favorite NES games were Super Mario/Duck Hunt, Q-Bert, and Spy vs. Spy. I chose those because when we had an NES I was three years old and those were the only games we had.

4. Gary Coleman!!!!

Chestnuts roasted by jazzy @ 02/25/2007 3:01 AM

Summer or fall….umm….I can’t decide. I like shorts, but I have no air conditioning. I like new episodes on television, but I hate the shorter sun time.

Chestnuts roasted by Mars @ 02/25/2007 3:03 AM

hmmm…with close to a foot of snow coming down tonight i have to say summer looks good about now.

Greatest indie film? I have to go with Clerks. I do share the love of Garden State that some on here have, though.

Manimal – North and South rules. As a 12 year old history buff that was my crack. (That and the North and South mini-series.) Top three NES, though, I’d have to say

1. Zelda
2. Tecmo Super Bowl
3. Tetris
