I remember when I was in DC back in ‘91, we ate at a Roy Rogers. I was with someone who worked at Hardee’s and he whooped and hollered because he was so excited since Hardee’s was buying Roy Rogers at the time. They did the same to them that they did to Carls!

Roy Rogers is pretty gross… there is many strong reasons it went out of business.

Yuck, I don’t normally like eating at Penn Station unless I’m really hungry. I’ve seen the Roy Rogers there plenty of times but never thought about eating there.

There used to be a Roy Rogers at Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, near the Toys R Us. My family used to be regulars there. It’s now a Wendys.

I think I will eat at Roy Rogers soon just to see if the chicken tastes the same.

Oh yeah, Roy Rogers is all over the New Jersey Turnpike. I ate a burger and fries at one of those rest stops last July. It cost my girlfriend and I $18. Don’t ever eat at those stops if you don’t like to spend money.

You are having the reaction a number of my friends have had to seeing the Penn Station Roy Rogers.

That food court isn’t as bad as you are making it out to be, I’ve been there a few times, but usually do Nathans over Roy’s chicken if I have to get something quick from that section of Penn. If I have time I avoid the fast food places, and just go to Rose’s Pizza on the LIRR level. Rose’s and Starbucks just aren’t as icky as the rest of the places in Penn.

Penn takes some getting used to, after a significant amount of time you come to appreciate the 24 hour restaurants. Also the place isn’t nearly as grimey as the Port Authority, and always seems well policed.

I like this topic. too bad it was so difficult to think of anything.

1. A Fonzie doll that does the “Aaaay!” move when you push a lever on his back. (Which in turn reminded me of my Mr. Miyagi… don’t know which deserves a spot.)

3. My 2-ish ft statue of Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
