Yeah I remember you saying that and I actually checked their website when you did. Circuit City it is. But there’s like 3 GameStops on the way, and my favorite is just a little further up the road :P

I seriously don’t need anything else right now though :( Cheeky you’re making me feel self-conscious!!

I’m actually off to bed….maybe a bit of Elite Beat before sleep? K- if you don’t have that game, that is one you should certainly try!

I always like the SNT around this time; it falls to the small group of people who see sleep as an option not a requirement….

haha very true, and K- don’t listen to me, I’m just a random fool posting on message boards at 3 in the morning on a saturday night!

The thing about moving is…I never realize just how much crap I have until I start to pack it up. My DVD collection is about 10 times larger than I thought it was, and I’m finding stuff I haven’t seen in years.

Including a Yoda Pez Dispenser. Huzzah.

21 Jump Street’s first season opener was awesome.
Adventures of Pete and Pete was very good as well.

I think those are the only two that stick out in my head.

I just finished watching Return of the Jedi. The original VHS version, not the bastardized new one with computer generated crap flyin’ around the whole time. My buddy has the 3 VHS set from 1995 before they crapped it up with CGI junk. I watched Star Wars on Tuesday night and Empire on Wednesday night. Wheee!

This might be a bit late, but one of my favorite TV theme songs is “Go Go Power Rangers”, from the original “Power Rangers” series. I especially liked the version from “Power Rangers: the Movie.”

I’m so totally late here, but I could always hear just the very first chord of the Simpsons theme from clear across the house, and I’d come running.

I also adored the themes to Muppet Babies, Salute Your Shorts, and Tiny Toons, and occasionally my friends will STILL burst into the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme at random. I realize I’m showing my age (or lack thereof) as more of a 90s kid than an 80s kid, but in the 80s I mostly just watched whatever my mom had on.

Oh my goodness, how could I forget the Muppet Babies?!?!? I should have included that when I mentioned The Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock. I could have very well have added the animated Fraggle Rock series, but that’s pretty much like th live-action version. As for Salute Your Shorts, might I also add “Hey Dude” along to that list? A very good quality show on Nickelodeon’s part, I must say. Okay, I better finish this before I start running off more theme songs through my head. Saying Nickelodeon kind of triggered off, “You Can’t Do That on Television” and….oh, I CAN’T STOP IT!!!!!

Hey Justin, the original “untouched” versions are available on DVD now. Just FYI.

And yes, I’m still up.

Well, I have finished watching all of Arrested Development on DVD, and I want to cry because this show is no longer on. Damn you, Fox.

Dick Van Dyke – one of my very very VERY favorite shows ever…I have all but the last season on DVD, and it’s amazing how that show still holds up in terms of writing and acting. Dick Van Dyke’s acting was genius in that show. Fun fact I learned: Carl Reiner wrote and starred in the original pilot (which they show) and it was turned down because he just wasn’t right, and the show was just kind of bleh. Reiner gave up on the idea and then was convinced to try it again with someone else in the lead…and the rest is history. It was Mary Tyler Moore’s first comedic role, also.

Theme song – X-Files, Miami Vice, Mighty Mouse, Underdog, the old Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck cartoons, (yes, I’m older than you guys).

Squee- I too like the Boy Meets world song. That show started bugging me after Cory and Topanga were together forever and they acted as though they didn’t creep the hell out of each other when they were 11. Also, why should two 18 year olds have the perfect relationship? Seriously their problems were so petty. Why am I overanalyzing a fictatious sitcom?

Squee-

I am sitting on the sofa
There’s a T.V. in the corner
I am watching Major Nelson
He is played by Larry Hagman
And he found a little bottle
And out popped Barbara Eden
She folds her arms and blinks her eyes
It’s kind of like Bewitched

That’s the first verse to the Nick at Nite Jeannie song. I never knew the rest of the words, but I’m sure that line you remember is in there.

Speaking of Nick at Nite, I guess, does anyone remember the old Milkman or How to be Swell shorts they’d show during commercial breaks? I found some of the latter online one time, but I still haven’t found Milkman.

Man, do you know what has really been in my head? it’s the South park episode when everyone is a japanimamtion character. When they break into a fight scene this Japanese mixed with English rock song kicks in.

“Go Go, ich nee sun go rucke, ichnee kana rookie, protect my balls.
Love is for fighting!”

Something like that. I hum through the Japanese verse but sing out loud, “protect my balls” in a Japanese accent.

ROFL kb, we’re totally on the same page in the BMW book. :D
Thanks to the wonders of Amazon, here’s the second verse of the Jeannie song (hear it here)
Tony Nelson works at NASA
With suspicious Dr. Bellows
And there’s also Roger Healy
Who would become Howard Borden
And Jeannie always means well
But they get in wacky trouble
She folds her arms and blinks her eyes
it’s kind of like Bewitched.
I can’t remember whether or not both verses ended the same way, but Amazon only lets you listen to the second. Props to Lori for a fun survey, BTW.

Ghosted by squee4242 @ 01/14/2007 4:02 PM EST

No, wait, I remember now! The first verse ends with the lines:
But she couldn’t show her bellybutton
All she did was blink!

I can’t believe I’ve wasted so much brain space on this stuff. :)

lol, KB, you’re right. Corey and Topanga *were* getting too perfect. But then, the show was constantly in danger of being cancelled those days so the writers tried *anything* to save it. And let’s face it, Boy Meets World had the same audience as Full House (they were on, I think, like an hour after them on TGIF). Technically, I should hate Boy Meets World for the cheesy shit their writers tried to pull, but I don’t know. It makes me like them more. I like shows that struggle to stay on.

The fact that you could painfully tell the last few episodes were slapped together (Come on! All of them go to New York? Feeny only gets a 2 minute goodbye? Shawn gets closure from his half brother AND Dad in the same last 2 minutes? WTF??) because they were canned just makes it better for me.

Write another Blog about your AC trip! where did you end up staying?

Yay! Thank you Squee and Amazon! Finally I know more than what I thought I knew.

Ghosted by Rainbowfeet @ 01/14/2007 7:26 PM EST

I’ll add two that haven’t been mentioned (I don’t think:

-All in the Family: All time stops when I hear that song and for some reason I am sucked in every time.

-I got my 4 year old the complete 60’s Spider Man series on DVD. There’s some thing cool about your kid yelling “HE’S GOT RADIOACTIVE BLOOD!!” at the top of his lungs.

Lest we all forget the MacGyver theme song? Or Airwolf? They’re both instrumentals but they rock, if not for the show they represented, but the music itself.

Ghosted by Tony @ 01/15/2007 9:25 AM EST

Buffy the Vampire Slayer had the best intro song. Anyone who uses the Butthole Surfers is tops on my list! In fact, and you may think this is wierd to admit, I actually bought the soundtrack because it has some really sweet music on it.

Sorry for the double post but my brain is late catching up with the late post so FORGIVE ME!!!

On a sweet note, my other faves are:
Fraggle Rock
Family Guy
and last but not least…
Land of the Lost

Has anyone named The Equalizer yet? Now that was a decent theme tune. I’d buy it if it came out on cd. Also, Tales of the Unexpected. It scared everyone (including me) but I still kind of love it in a weird sort of way.

Yeah… I’m not a true “regular” but I like to participate.

I loved the Disney Afternoon themes. As far as themes that had me running to the TV in the first few notes- Misfits of Science, JEM, the Facts of Life, Diff’rent Strokes, Silver Spoons, the A-Team, Golden Girls… and I liked to sing along when applicable. And I wouldn’t have even thought of it if someone else hadn’t said it, but I LOVED Land of the Lost and it’s theme song… which plays a big part in my love of the movie “Bubble Boy.”
