Happy Halloween From The Darkside!

Happy Halloween! This year's Halloween Countdown ends, oddly, with a review of my favorite episode of Tales From The Darkside. Such a great show, and it gave me just the kind of last-minute spirit zapping I needed. I know most people did their big costume/haunting things this past weekend, but tomorrow is Halloween Propa. Do your best to enjoy it, however you can.

I really didn't want the season to slip by without getting to write about these, because they're great. Let me sum it up quick: Cars, in horror shells, fun times. Don't think that'll due, so, expansion: Remember those Matchbox Christmas Coal Cars I wrote about ten years ago? Same idea here. Regardless of whether your costume-wearing widdle-wons have been naughty or nice, they, and I and you will all revel in the glories of horror-shelled mystery Matchbox cars. Each plastic case splits open to reveal a toy car that is sadly not at all Halloweeny, but it's the cases that count, and these are great cases. Not sure which I like better, but it doesn't matter much; they're both mine.

They're coming to take me away, ha ha.

I remember this and it still doesn’t make sense. Sure it’s cool to have a naked hot chick basting in your rumpus room, but you’re not just going to be able to eat her like a chicken leg. They’re going to need to take the organs out at the very least or they are going to have all kinds of bile in the soup and the vegetables just aren’t going to do anything. You couldn’t even cook a rabbit like that despite how hard the pygmys or tazmanian devils try.

Wow. That is the only Tales from the Darkside I remember from my youth, and it had almost the exact same impact on me!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

I’m going trick or treating this eve with some of my friends. I, like everyone else who posts on this blog, am going as V. Well V if he was an overweight, 17 year old dwarf. Close enough. And thank you once again Matt, thank you for this wonderful countdown.

To Poop and Danny:

I wore my Guy Fawkes masque today, and it was hot as holy hell, as expected. I did not expect it to be so ill-fitting, however. I was looking at the plastic just above the eye holes the whole time. And that was with the square of foam attached to prevent such a thing!!!

Needless to say, I had it on for a total of 3 minutes. Oh well. It has always looked better on my wall anyway.

So, do you guys have the cape, wig, knives, etc.? They actually have a knives set available onlne. I just went for the Anarchy in the UK guy look, because well I’m fat and I knew the masque was going to be more for permanent decor than actual use.

Matt,

Thanks for keeping Halloween alive for us again. Don’t ever let us turn into France http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061031/wl_nm/life_france_halloween_dc

Happy Halloween everyone!!
I am spending my Halloween Night here at work. My wife gets to take our daughter out for Halloween. I am excited to go home and see hom much candy/ggodies she got. I am prolly gonna steal all her Snickers cause she is too young to eat that kind of stuff. I am watching Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things tonight. That movie is awesome. Have fun all.

I remember watching “Tales” late at night in syndication when I was younger. Some of them really messed with your head, I’ll have to agree. The one I remember the most, and I can remember very little of it, but the final scene had a very old man who sneezed his entire nose off in his hankie. Good times…Happy Halloween! :)

IMDB just decided to link to the Halloween countdown, on the last day. Hmm, makes sense.

Thanks once again for the Halloween spiriticism, Matt.

Honestly, your site is one of the only things in my life that helps makes holidays fun again. And don’t feel bad about the updates–the way you’re able to crunch in the amount of articles you do is amazing, considering that I don’t even have the time to READ it all. And I’m a slacker!

Chestnuts roasted by Venison @ 10/31/2006 6:13 PM

Best Tales ever was the one with the demonic ringing phones in the room that tormented the gal who lived next to them. That seriously freaked me out as a kid….seriously…..

On second thought, don’t click the link. I messed it up.

Happy Halloween biznitches! I wish you all a good candy buzz and the chance to hear “Monster Mash” 400 times on the radio.

Happy Dappy Halloween, all!

As like everyone else here, I’ve been reading this for years (this is at least my 3rd consecutive H’Ween Countdown and my 4th Xmas one), and Matt, you are indeed one of the greatest people on the internet, and I’m hoping to be that good too. The blog I have now has nothing on you, but it’s a start!

There was a Fall Fest thing at my college today and I dressed up as Dane Cook. Had the facial hair, spiked hair and pretentious clothes to match.

I’m gonna go watch some H’Ween toons and give out some candy now!

Happy Hallow’s, everyone! The trick-or-treaters have just started showing up here, but I’ve already got my great story of the night. I’m handing out candy using a Freddy Glove (which is precarious and difficult, to say the least), and the kids love it. In fact, one of them exclaimed, “Wow! Just like Wolverine!”

Damn, I feel old.

Chestnuts roasted by Declan Dempsey @ 10/31/2006 7:09 PM

I’m pretty sure that Wolverine came before Freddy in some comic or another, so that kid may well be older than you. Or he may well have been a midget posing as a child. Perverted logic is the best kind.

Oh, and nice article there Matt…

Happy Halloween all! Time for me spray my hair black and paint my face white while I don a cheap plastic cape and scare the neighbors cat drooling in my plastic fangs! You guys have fun too! :)

Glad to see “Tales From The Darkside” getting the love on Halloween. I’ve been recording these off of the TV since early October on the Sci-Fi channel. Not sure if the episode aired that you enjoyed the most, but I’ll look over my tapes for it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO EVERYONE! I’m watching a butchered cut of Friday the 13th on Bravo as I type this. The editing on the movie is the only part that is horrifying to the fans who watch it.

THANK YOU MATT

What you forgot to mention in your Great Pumpkin article is that the 100 other sites like this are all ripoff copies of you,but shitty instead of funny. I hope you never stop doing this.
