I decided to use this gorgeous day off to ride around and run random little errands at various small dollar stores, drug stores, and grocery stores in Haddon Township, since I hadn’t been there in a few months. As I walked my bike up the steep hill to the Westmont Plaza shopping center, I got a bit of a surprise. Instead of selling swing sets and trampolines, the first store in the 70s-era mall was now a Halloween costume store. I was in search of Halloween decorations anyway, so I locked the bike and took a peek.

A few glances at some of the apparel told me I could buy similar stuff for cheaper at department stores and dollar stores, but that didn’t stop me from walking around for almost an hour. They really had a good selection despite the prices. Slutty adult costumes. Sweet adult costumes. Serious adult costumes. Scare-the-hell-out-of-you adult costumes. Kids’ costumes in the same genres. Huge inflatable pumpkins, ghosts, and vampires. Giant plastic “rotted” monster heads. Everything to make your own graveyard, from “gravestones” to signs. The place had “Matt” written all over it, and indeed, that was the first thing I thought when I entered the door, that this kind of place would be Matt’s second home at this time of year.

I saw it like once and was absolutely enthralled. Gonna have to see it again.
