Aw man, that's so sad. Especially since Frankie is near and dear to the fans. Ol' Dracula is the prima donna of the group. Very appreciative of the fans but doesn't like to do autographs.

Posted by Josh @ 09/23/2006 3:51 PM EDT

Aw, that's heartbreaking!  Look at his tear-filled…sockets.  You communicate so much through these ghosties, Matt.  So much.

Posted by Jessica Marie @ 09/23/2006 3:57 PM EDT

I was wondering when the Ghost with the Most would show up. I certainly hope to see more of him later on in the countdown.

Posted by DocDragon @ 09/23/2006 4:01 PM EDT

"Virgin Megastore", such funny words.

Posted by kingklash @ 09/23/2006 4:05 PM EDT

Awwwwwwww! Poor little spookyspook. :(
They can totally sell it on ebay and profit, duh!

Fuck yes. I love this part of the year.

I also love the pixellation on zoomed-in panels.
Yummay. :D

I just found this "Find the Horror Movies" flash game on the M&Ms website.  So far I've got 22 out of 50…

Jack Palance as Dracula.

Posted by Commander Awesome @ 09/23/2006 4:49 PM EDT

Jack could be a gardener or a ice cream salesman, and he'd still be fuckin' creepy :)

Great comix!

Brilliant! Hail Matt. Man, I love XE. Matt's like Sinatra – even on an off day, he's still awesome.

Hee! Poor guy.
Happy Saturday everybody! How was everybody's week, good I hope?

Do you think Frankenstein's autograph changes everytime he needs a new hand?

Posted by dohopoki @ 09/23/2006 5:35 PM EDT

Ahh. Saturday. Matt, you would fucking love where I work: A Halloween store. It's a fucking emporium! There's a whole section for Jason (F13) movies; they've got a different mask for nearly every movie.

They even have that flying ghost from your halloween countdown!

Posted by Spanky @ 09/23/2006 5:58 PM EDT

here's a way to kill some time for some horror movie buffs.

http://us.mms.com/us/dark/index.jsp
dark chocolate M&M movie game where you click on a movie picture reference (literally the movie name) and then you type it in.

Posted by Goob @ 09/23/2006 5:59 PM EDT

I now know what I'm gonna be for Halloween:

Blinged-out Samurai Jesus.

Posted by Spanky @ 09/23/2006 5:59 PM EDT

Only can find 30 of the 50 movies in that M&M game. I'm sure there's a few more that are quite obvious, but hell if I can find them. Oh well.

Posted by Disgruntled Spam @ 09/23/2006 6:02 PM EDT

And then, Spanky, you will post a link to pictures of you as Blinged-out Samurai Jesus.

I recieved my Halloween ponies in the mail today.  A little bit of excitement!  They really are both lovely ponies, my favorite being the orange one, Pumpkin Tart with the kitty cat on its hip and the cat ears.  Its a November/topaz pony which is my birth month and birth stone so that's really cool.  I highly recommend these for anyone that likes ponies… my daughter keeps grabbing them off the bureau where I have them displayed and goes "open open open ponies" but I havent succumbed to her wishes yet.  I cracked open my rainbow maned styling pony awhile back and gave it to her and its hair is now a matted mess. :(

The above link takes you to a preview of the new Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre comics coming in December.  Nightmare on Elm Street starts in November.

You know where you can find some cool, if expensive, Halloween decorations?  The hardware store.  I went to Home Depot today and they had giant blowups, animatronic decorations, and other cool stuff.

Other than that, I got nothing to say.

Posted by JLAJRC @ 09/23/2006 6:19 PM EDT

That bunyip thing is cool and all, but I wanna see\download the full "Thriller" video. Legos, videogames, and whatever other tributes are cool, but as is often the case, nothing beats the original. :)

Posted by 9-Line @ 09/23/2006 6:23 PM EDT

Not meaning to double post, but what happened to the Jason emoticons?

I heart the ghost with the most.

The week was good- I'm glad it's Saturday.
May I propose an informal survey for this week?
I've noticed that there seem to be quite a few Weird Al fans here, and I was wondering (since the new ALbum comes out Tuesday): what's your favorite Weird Al album? Feel free to explain if you'd like. (We didn't do this before, right?)

My favorite is Even Worse. It was the first CD I ever owned. It's got "Fat", of course, as well as "Six Words Long", "Velvet Elvis", "Melanie", and "Good Old Days." What's not to love?
Running With Scissors gives it a run for its money though, what with Albuquerque and all.

Anyone?

Posted by Rainbowfeet @ 09/23/2006 6:52 PM EDT

Up to 34/50 on that M&Ms thing. Some of them I've overthought. Then I felt stupid when I realized what they were.

Still baffled by the cave near the bottom-right. It isn't 'The Cave,' 'Holes,' or anything. The mountaintop's also giving me bafflement.

Posted by ChibiSoma @ 09/23/2006 7:04 PM EDT

Kittycatgirl2k, you're a pony collector too?  WHEE!  Do you haunt any of the MLP boards?  I've been meaning to check Target for the Halloween ponies, but I'll probably end up having to eBay them.

Posted by Julie/Blazer @ 09/23/2006 7:14 PM EDT

Rainbowfeet, I cannot wait for "Straight Outta Lynwood" to drop this Tuesday. I am also a HUGE Weird Al fan and have watching and re-watching "The Weird Al Show" DVDs a lot lately.  I would have to say "Running With Scissors" is my favorite. It is the one album of Al's that I almost entirely enjoy. Incidentally, my least favorite is "Alapalooza", which has only one song I like, "Jurassic Park".

Posted by Thomas @ 09/23/2006 7:22 PM EDT

I loooove Ghost With the Most!!!

Posted by Carri @ 09/23/2006 7:33 PM EDT

I'm stuck on the m and m's game.  I have 43 out of 50.

I need the following:

1.  The guy with the lantern
2.  The three kids dancing around
3.  The cave
4.  The staircase (not the people on the staircase but the staircase itself)
5.  The three people with the map (I could have sworn it was the Blair Witch)
6.  The big Hill
7.  The Grim Reaper in the Circle

Help a brother out…

Posted by bdsghost @ 09/23/2006 7:48 PM EDT

Oh…fuck…YES!!! *insert pic from last year with one of the ghosts saying "Fvck Ya!" here*

I, too can't wait for Straight Outta Lynwood, and Weird Al has the videos for the first 2 songs on his myspace (them + 4 more will appear in the US-only Dualdisc).

Personally, I love Alapalooza, and Running With Scissors is one of my top favorites. Though his recent Poodle Hat was great too. And favorite video? It's "Fat" but the new one for "White & Nerdy" certainly gives it a run for its money!

And for other fans out there: Watch sunday's Robot Chicken, there's gonna be a new Weird Al video on it!!

Posted by Invader Norbert @ 09/23/2006 7:49 PM EDT

bdsghost: Check your myspace, I didn't want to spoil them for everyone else. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but one of the things wasn't even a moive!

Blast you for introducing this game! Not being a horror (or Dark) movie fan, I've only gotten only 14 or so so far. Click my name to send me a mysapce message (so no one else gets spoiled)

Posted by Invader Norbert @ 09/23/2006 8:15 PM EDT

Ah, Saturday night. Who needs a date when I have SNT and a stack of porn?

…..

God damn I'm lonely.

Posted by Mystie @ 09/23/2006 8:20 PM EDT

Yeah, my least favorite is probably Bad Hair Day, followed by either Alapalooza or maybe even Off the Deep End. I can't put my finger on why I like them less than the others, they just have that feeling.

Favorite video is probably "Fat." I really like all the little gags in it. "One More Minute" is pretty sweet, too. I agree, "White and Nerdy" is really great. The Segway part gets me every time.

Also, in the new Rolling Stone, they reviewed some downloads and included "Don't Download This Song." I thought this was cool, until whoever wrote this mentioned that the last two albums were the "worst" of Al's career. (I can't remember the exact quote and I'm too lazy to find it.) This kind of ticked me off. Yeah, I like Poodle Hat and all, and maybe it wasn't the greatest, I'll give him that, but Running With Scissors? No way is that one anywhere near the bottom!

Posted by Rainbowfeet @ 09/23/2006 8:26 PM EDT

Hey Phil.  Thanks a bunch.  I also figured out the guy with the lantern and realized that I may be the most stupid horror movie fan on the face of the planet.  Anyone that wants help just send me a message on myspace.

http://www.myspace.com/bdsghost

Just 4 more to go… then I can sleep…

Posted by bdsghost @ 09/23/2006 8:29 PM EDT

Ah Weird Al, I can honestly say that I love almost all his songs and albums. I remember meeting him when I was younger. I got a few autographs and shook his hand. He is a really nice guy, spent time to sign all the autographs for the fans. Fat in concert kicks a lot of ass.

Posted by Phil G. @ 09/23/2006 8:32 PM EDT

bdsghost - They should be:

1. The Shining
2. Child's Play
3. ?
4. ?
5. Lost Boys
6. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's "The Hills Have Eyes"
7. Seventh Seal

I need:

1. Woman w/baby and child.
2. Green M&M
3. Guy in straight-jacket.
4. Woman with barrel of water.
5. Guys on stairs.
6. The knife.

I'm not sure what else is a clue.

Ummm.  I didn't even think about spoilers.

Sorry.

Posted by spacezombie @ 09/23/2006 8:38 PM EDT

Thanx bdsghost! Without that, I'm up to 32/50. And I bet I'll probably be branded dumb too because I don't know the lantern guy either…not the Pumpkin-head in the red suit.

Posted by Invader Norbert @ 09/23/2006 8:41 PM EDT

Mystie, you can't be lonely with the SNT *and* porn. Because then I'd be lonely too.

Posted by Welsh Rabbit @ 09/23/2006 8:41 PM EDT

I went into a Disney Store today, for the first time in ages–because we haven't had one around here for a while–and I didn't feel out of place. I was so excited.  Dorky, I know, but thank you Kingdom Hearts, nonetheless!!

But they didn't have anything KH. I even asked. C'mon, I want a Sora plushie!!!!

Posted by K- @ 09/23/2006 8:49 PM EDT

Poor ghost, man now I’m sad. So, stacks of porn, M&Ms, looks like it’s going to be a great SNT. That or the story of my life…

Posted by Darth Poop @ 09/23/2006 9:17 PM EDT

More spoilers for the M&Ms hunt:

Spacezombie:
3. Guy in straight-jacket. = Psycho
4. Woman with barrel of water. = Dark Water
5. Guys on stairs. = The Grudge
6. The knife. = Blade

Posted by ChibiSoma @ 09/23/2006 9:29 PM EDT

MaYBE SPOILERS FOR THE GAME!!!

1. Woman w/baby and child. - Classic Horror… Think Abbot and Costello
2. Green M&M - David Lynch movies are HUGE on this game…
3. Guy in straight-jacket. - Classic movie that MOTHER would love…
4. Woman with barrel of water. - New Japanese Horror
5. Guys on stairs. - New Japanese Horror
6. The knife. - Comic Book Horror

and I tried the Seventh Seal… didn't work…

Wow, I just got back from Target. My area might have been the last to start up, but man did they start up right. They hosted the largest and most awesome Halloween Zone I have ever seen. Complete with a giant candy section, and I'm not just throwing around words like giant, it was really almost too much.

Posted by Fox @ 09/23/2006 9:37 PM EDT

9-Line: The Jason smilie disappeared when the blog switched over from Greymatter. Actually, I think the whole set is slightly different?
It's been awhile, but previously somebody mentioned the Arrested Development reruns on G4. I've been watching them, and while I'm not one of those that can recite every episode chapter and verse I did notice they cut one of my very favorite jokes (and it's a pretty tame one; sure, it's dirty, but it's subtle) so I'd recommend the DVDs for the real AD experience. Not that anyone asked, but hey, what's an SNT without superfluous posts? ;)

Posted by squee4242 @ 09/23/2006 9:44 PM EDT

So, far I got 36 (my dad helped on a couple).  That dumb cockroach is bothering me.  So are the guys carrying and wearing those "O".

Hey everybody… first of all, I just wanna say that this is a first-time post by a long-time reader of the site. I've even lurked around the blog a bit, but for some reason have never posted before.
Anyway, I love them both, but I guess I might have to give the slight edge to Dracula… maybe because he seems to always bring to mind Joe Flaherty as Count Floyd on SCTV. Anyone else?

Posted by supremelegend @ 09/23/2006 10:15 PM EDT

Hey JLAJRC,

Here are some hints…

The giant BEATLE in the JUICE… that's hard…

And I would give everything to DAMIAN to help with the O-Men…

Wow, after having been gone since June 21, I have so much X-E reading to catch up on. I look forward to it! By the way, anyone familiar with the Spirit Halloween stores? There's one opening up in my area, and I'm waiting to hear back from them for a job! I really hope I get it–the inside of the store reminds me of X-E and the Things You Never Existed catalogs.

Posted by Venison @ 09/23/2006 10:46 PM EDT

Julie/Blazer:  Yes I have collected ponies on and off since I was a wee one.  Now that I have a daughter its more of an excuse for me to buy them again.  lol I dont know of any MLP boards but would check it out… the ponies had such cool accessories and houses and stuff…my fav as a child was the Pony Mansion, that thing was insane.  definitely get the Halloween ponies, they are must haves!  Just too cute.  I had to ebay them and paid 2x what they go for in the store but it was worth it.

for people going crazy for answers.  For some reason, I couldn't move over the left corner (there is the last movie title there) for the thing lurking in the shadows.  So I was 49 outta 50.  After about 16 I cheated and googled the answers.  I know a cop out but I was going crazy quite quickly.

You cheated at 16, Goob? I don't even like horror movies much and I didn't cheat until 35. (I'm finished now.)

I hit Target tonight with disappointing results.
I went in search of Halloween whoppers and a Pitch Black Icee.
I saw them in the snack bar and I was all "I'm gettin' one after I check out!"
But apparently the snack bar closes earlier than the store so I was SOL.
Failed on the whoppers, too.

Posted by Ryane @ 09/23/2006 11:47 PM EDT

Katerine

I know I just knew if I googled my little brain out then the answers were out there and that was easier then having me figure them out.  I wasn't going to wrack my brain too hard, I need it for work!  heh heh but I like the premise of the game though they should do those every once in a while.  And I had a pitch black icee they are GOOD.  I also hate grape soda, there is just something in those pitch black's that are awesome.  When I got that I also got a cornbread muffin and chili meal, the chili was ok I guess but the muffin's were obviously nuked.  I wonder how much that guy gets paid to do that :/

Oh yeah they have AWESOME t-shirts that are halloween themed at Target. everyone should see them.  there is one, with a cartoon vampire on it that says "sleep all day party all night" and there is one that had a picture of one person that has a trick or treat bag with more candy in it then the other and it says "mine is bigger" "take off that mask"  there was also a day of the dead one I believe, they were all rockin though.  I should be able to get one or two before halloween though!  I enjoy the t-shirts you can wear year round.  I have a red shirt that I got during valentines that says "you know you want me" that I recently got a scare while I was wearing it, an older guy whispered "yes I do but don't tell my wife" while I was shopping at a yard sale.  Ick.

Ok…thanx to that flickr page, I got 49 out of 50 (I had gotten around 25 or so on my own), but the flickr thing is saying that the pumpkin-head guy is for Pumpkin…but it doesn't go through on mine! :(

Posted by Invader Norbert @ 09/24/2006 12:11 AM EDT

Hooray t-shirts… I have a bunch of t-shirts from threadless.com, and I always forget I'm wearing one until a sales clerk says something like "cool, zombie bunnies" and I stare blankly like an idiot, because my clothing memory has been wiped clean. The bad part is Threadless changes their stock constantly, and when people ask I'm too chicken to tell them they can't get the same shirt. I always say sure, you should check the website…

Posted by Welsh Rabbit @ 09/24/2006 12:14 AM EDT

Invader Norbert, that's because it's actually "pumpkinhead," not pumpkin.

Posted by Katherine @ 09/24/2006 12:22 AM EDT

Yeah I thought it was still early for Halloween, but this week at work a bunch of the store telephone operators told me people are already calling in asking if they can buy tickets for the Thankgiving Day Parade. o.O;;

Posted by Mystie @ 09/24/2006 12:29 AM EDT

Click my name for a nice text solution. The Flikr thing was only a jpeg for me, and I don't know or care why.

I got 42 on my own before resorting to the linked solution and I'm not exactly the most versed Horror fan on the planet. I feel good about it,

Posted by K- @ 09/24/2006 12:31 AM EDT

I got 47 out of 50 relatively quickly, on my own, no help.  Took an HOUR but I got em.

I cannot guess as of yet, the Woman With 2 Children, Death in the Circle Gate, and The Stairs

After spending another 40 minutes unable to guess those three, I"m going nuts.

Anyone get em?

And no, again, I didn't cheat at all.  I'm just crazy.

And I know that when the other three are told, it'll make me feel just as stupid as the Omen.

Incedentally, Halfway through I realized I could think of movies first and THEN look for the clues.  Went Much Faster.  Plus the are heavy on Modern kinda crappy "horror" movies, David Lynch, ALfred Hichcock, M Night Shamalan, and 80's Slashers, obviously.

Even so, there were some realy odd ones.  Like I didn't guess Pirhanna cause though it was obvious, I thought it was too obvious and barely anyone but me would have heard of that movie anyway, so if it's the right answer, it's not because anyone knew it.  But it was the right answer.  Oh well.  And Twin Peaks wasn't a movie, nor really horror.  And before you say it, the movie was Twin Peaks: Fire walk with me, and I didn't have to enter fire bleah blah blech.  So strictly speaking these aren't even really all horror or movies.  But mostly.  ANd it is fun.

Thanks for the link.  AND GODDAMN THE WOMAN THE DEATH AND THE STAIRS.  I thought I was real inventive when I noticed the little kid was a real bastard looking git and though…."Oh of course, HELLRAISER!" but no dice.  SO it didn't get included?  Shoulda been the woman with the kids.

I'll be back here later to se if they got figured out.

Posted by spooky @ 09/24/2006 12:37 AM EDT

Women and Children–The Mummy. The stupidest clue on the entire painting. Yeah, some were obvious, but not THAT stupid.

Death–though I thought it was Death Stands Alone, whether or not that's really a movie, who knows, it was in my head, it was Dead Zone

Count the Stairs–39 Steps.

Posted by K- @ 09/24/2006 12:40 AM EDT

Wow guys, fun SNT.  I just got back from a wedding, where my brothers and I stole giant loafs of bread shaped like lobsters and crabs.  Pics to follow. :)

Posted by Matt @ 09/24/2006 12:51 AM EDT

I love Threadless shirts! Television Without Pity does similarly cool limited run shirts…I'm still kicking myself for missing out on the "stapler encased in Jello" shirt they did a few months ago.
Reminds me, I finally saw those Margarita/Pina Colada flavored Jellos (Jelloes?) at the grocery, in their own little stand off in the booze section.
Congrats to the happy couple, and the lucky bread stealers too :) .

Oh, and as for the stairs… think Hitchcock. And think steps.

Five to go. Stuck on…

1. That ugly-ass fish in the corner
2. The haystack/ball thingie with the shovel clock hands (under the invisible man)
3. Death in the circle
4. The broken tree
5. The cave

There were two others when I started this post, but as I was typing in the descriptions, the answers hit me and made me feel like a yutz.

Posted by Blake Petit @ 09/24/2006 1:26 AM EDT

1. That ugly-ass fish in the corner - Bottom-left? That's Creature From the BLack Lagoon. If you mean the bigass fish over near the O-men, that's Pirahna.

2. The haystack/ball thingie with the shovel clock hands (under the invisible man) - Clockwork Orange dood.

Thanx much for telling me it was pumpkinhead…I swear it didn't work the first time I put it through, but I don't even know if I did at all. I ended up Xing out the game before being told this, I already had the first 49, so no big loss. (like I said, I for around 27 without help, most coming obviously and me feeling like a dumbass for not knowing it.)

And I just saw a tv ad for Straight Outta Lynwood too! It showed clips of the White & Nerdy video. (plus clips from some of the others…including the one by John K)

All in all, this gold says that this was the best SNT ever. And PLEASE say that Ghost with The Most (and whatever the other ghost's name is) will appear again!!

Posted by Invader Norbert @ 09/24/2006 2:16 AM EDT

Gonna have to go with Frankenstein's monster for favorite out of the two. Dracula can't feed off his blood, he can walk around in the day time, and he's not evil, just misunderstood. And he's way cooler than the Increadible Melting Man.

Though absolute favorite would have to be some sexy alien chick a huge set of… antennae.

12 Monkeys with twelve monkeys and Seven with 7 makes me mad for some reason so I quit. So, where's this porn everyone is talking about? Is there some on the internet now?

Like you wouldn't believe, Doho, like you wouldn't believe. ;)

ok am I the only one curious about what kind of porn girls keep on hand for saturday nights?  I worked at a computer lab catching people looking at porn and one girl was catch in 2 years.  I really don't think it was cause I wasn't catching them either.  I have no problem with it, just not in public.
anyway, my cloest target is 90 miles away, drink an icee for me.

They see me rollin' on my segway, I feel in my heart they think I am too white and nerdy…I bet he put that on there just so he could use a segway in the music video.  Those things are neat but yeah they do make you look like a geek.  And they are expensive!

finally broke down and looked em up.  the last three.  The mummy was the stupidest.  As for 39 steps, or the 39 steps, as much as I like hitchcock, that was the one movie I hadn't actually heard of.

And it's not the tree that's the clue, there are two seperate clues for two seperate movies IN the tree, though I'm certain you know that by now.

Great suggestion Kentdog

Oh, ps, incedentally, ect.  the planets I kept trying at first, though it didn't work "When Worlds Collide".  I still think that's the "Right" answer, though it wasn't the one they were looking for.  Stupid Jupiter shoulda had a machine gun at least…

I like the older Jenna Jameson movies….probally the only p0rn I ever purchased.
oh and the Vampyres movies from a few years back… its like… Halloween p0rn!  Except with hawt chicks instead of gross stuff.  Cheezy as hell though, I'll admit that.

I just realized how much I miss this page.  I've been away for a long time now.  Don't know why just don't show up a lot.  Halloween and Christmas bring me back a-runnin' though.  Thanks Matt.

D'oh! Mountain Dew! My girlfriend and I were BOTH beating our brains out looking for iterations of "Hole," "Door," "Tunnel," and even "Gate."

Posted by Blake Petit @ 09/24/2006 10:26 AM EDT

Hell yes!! I love Ghost with the Most! Oh, how we have missed you, you ol' ghost.

Posted by Matt(#2?) @ 09/24/2006 10:32 AM EDT

I question the ghost with the most's sexuality, but then again i do love his antics.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning comes out real soon, personally it looks like nothing more than a crappy teen horror flick which will butcher the series more than it already has been, but i'll still end up watching it most liekly, just to put me more in the season.

I'm actually looking forward to the new TCM.  I think they stumbled onto gold with Ermey last time, and now that they've got the remake/reimagining/blah out of the way, they can just build a story that, while similar to what we've already seen, needn't necessarily be compared to it.

ok am I the only one curious about what kind of porn girls keep on hand for saturday nights?

The kind of girl that's sick of guys using her to cheat on their girlfriends so she instead spends her Saturday Night at home. I just got that stack of porn, my downloads were taking too long so I had to go to the porn shop and buy some. They always have a buy 2 get 1 free, so I can't NOT buy 3! ;)

What can I say…. I'm just all around a complete freak. I'd probably have better luck writing letters to the Penthouse forum, but instead I've chosen to fill the internet with crap about Popples and Darkwing Duck for the past 10 years. This is also why I have no friends.  ;.;

Spooky: It's "War of the Worlds."

What about the river of blood?  I thought it was "Bay of Blood but it's not.

Got all 50 with the help of that Flickr link.  Thanks.

At least they're not tacking on "Based on a true story" to the new TCM, which was my irritation with the last one. I'd like to see a flick that's really based on the facts but compared to modern gorefests it's actually pretty tame. I'm seeing Amy Madigan as dear old mum, and maybe Philip Hoffman as Ed.
Anybody thinking about checking out Dexter, the new Showtime show about the FBI agent by day/serial killer by night? It looks like the cheese factor might be high but it could be alright.
RAS, I think you're overlooking the fact that for some ladies, porn can come in a purely textual format. Romance novels don't sell for the plots, after all. I bet some of those girls in the lab could have been reading pure smut and you never would have known :) .

Sunday morning.

Hey, I saw an episode of "The Ant and The Aardvark" this morning with my four-year old.  It got me thinking about John Byner (who did the voices and used to host that Canadian skit show "Bizarre").  So I Googled him to see if he's still alive.

Sho’nuff, not dead.  Turns out they just released a bunch of unedited episodes of "Bizarre" on DVD a few weeks ago.  That show was wierd.  If I remember, all the people were just trying to make each other mess up all the time.

I'm so gonna order it.  Hope it's as funny as I remember.

Now it officially feels like Halloween.

matt, the ghosts rock. in the 2nd picture of frankie, you gave him playmobil people hair. damn good stuff.

and how do you wait on line at a store to get an autograph?

Posted by matty @ 09/24/2006 12:39 PM EDT

You can use "on line" for "in line." I've heard that convention used before.

As in, I remember waiting on line at 3am to register for classes before we FINALLY got online registration.

Wow, Matt was freaking right about Target kicking ass at Halloween. I bought the most bitchin' witches hat EVER. It's purple satiny stuff with a black veil that has spiders on it and lots of great feathers. It's great. They also had the Pitch Black Icees, but having just eaten a large, grease filled dinner, the though of sugar made me a litle queasy. Next time.

Posted by Mara @ 09/24/2006 2:30 PM EDT

K- don't you know it's supposed to be "queued up"? ;-)

That's true about girls liking story porn almost as much/as much/more than visual porn. I hate HATE to see bad acting in a porn movie, and you have to look around a little to find something with good acting and attractive people *and* a story, if that's what you like. The website Good Vibrations has some good stuff for women… I find I even like gay porn sometimes. Of course, my boyfriend finds that watching gay porn makes him want to kill himself.

More to the topic at hand- I entertained myself for hours today just looking at the Halloween stuff on the Target website. I love the costumes that are leeching off the popularity of TV show or movie characters, but they're vague enough to get away with it. Although if you do a search there for "Wizard Wanda", you'll see one costume I find a little disturbing.

(Sorry if I'm double posting- I tried to use the link to that Target page and the blog didn't like it.)

Posted by Welsh Rabbit @ 09/24/2006 6:38 PM EDT

I can see some kid asking their mom if they can get a Wizard Wanda costume. The conversation why not would be interesting…

Posted by Phil G @ 09/24/2006 6:50 PM EDT

If I had a kid I wouldn't let them be Wizard Wanda just because the tie doesn't make sense. I hate ties-for-the-sake-of-ties. (And the almost-naked thing. It's cold on Halloween!)

Posted by Katherine @ 09/24/2006 6:59 PM EDT

The worst part about that Wanda Wizard costume, is that if you look online it actually comes in plus sizes as well. I'd be horrified at the thought of anyone seeing my fat ass in that thing.

Posted by Mystie @ 09/24/2006 7:28 PM EDT

It reminds me of a stand-up comic (I think it was Jim Gaffigan) saying that women apparently want to dress like hookers on Halloween. I guess any costume idea can be turned into something kinda slutty.

Posted by Welsh Rabbit @ 09/24/2006 7:42 PM EDT

Arthur: I'm British, I know how to queue.

Yes, I am aware of many British conventions

/proceeds to miss the very next British convention

I was looking at the frankenstein atari picture on the front page, the small one towards the right, if you look really uniquely then between his face and the finger, the orangish part, looks like a drippy slice of pizza, if anyone is bored they should go look.

Posted by Goob @ 09/24/2006 8:52 PM EDT

I insisted on using British spellings for a while, that was an interesting time.

What terrifies me (speaking from the fat-girl perspective…) is the plus-sized girl that would wear the Wanda Wizard costume and think they look good.

And, WOW, it does look like pizza, Goob. That's one of the best pictures for looking-like-something-it-isn't I've seen in a while.

Posted by Katherine @ 09/24/2006 9:14 PM EDT

I always spell it poseur. because well you know. The sun never sets on my @$$hole, etc., etc. :P

Posted by K- @ 09/24/2006 9:17 PM EDT

That's the best! It reminds me of the Roseanne episode where David asked Darlene if it's going to be him or the other guy. Darlene said the other guy, and after a pause David said, yeah or me, now choose. Ghostie should have pulled one of those.
