Highlight: Starting the Halloween coverage on my website.

Lowlight: Linux deciding that I don’t have permission to access two of my three hard drives, one of which contains a lot of the Halloween stuff I was going to talk about on said website.

Highlights – the flaming lips show tuesday. See my super awesome pictures from it in my blog (click my name, leave some comments)

Lowlights – 1. Fighting with my girlfriend. She needs to learn how to treat a gentleman. 2. At this very moment I’m stuck selling merch to a bunch of frunk hicks for Govt Mule. Holy shit this is terrible. Save me . atleast I’m making shittons of $$$. That can be a highlight.

Highlights: I went to Target and found the My Little Pony Halloween ‘pail’ ( I already have my Halloween ponies, two sets, one to open and one to keep MIP ^_~), I also got my Jones Soda Lemon Drop Dead, candy corn and some sparkley Halloween magnets. I got the new computer desk I’ve been eyeing for months.

Lowlights: Personal stuff has me down. And I’m dreading getting up at 5:00 A.M. tomorrow but that’s every Sun now so it doesn’t really count.

Highlight-Teaching the Revolutionary War :)
Lowlight-Teaching the Revolutionary War to kids with no appreciation or frame of reference of anything that occured before 1996. :(

Went to TARGET and picked up one of the mini-gargoyles and tombstones. Then over to the grand-opening of HOBBY LOBBY to see the the sights. Verdict-meh. A larger MICHAELS filled with over-priced whatnots.

Happy Birthday Jazzy and happy SNT to us all.

Highlights: Marlins winning the 2003 World Series, Marlins winning the 1997 World Series, elementary school, the day my family bought a widescreen TV, getting my own computer.

Lowlights: High school, the day I realized stores stopped stocking Vanilla Coke, realizing that the Back to the Future trilogy has to come to an end, the moment my iPod Nano’s hard drive reached its storage limit.

Chestnuts roasted by Joseph Valencia @ 09/16/2006 10:16 PM

Manimal: I’ll give you a cookie if you work the phrase “If it weren’t for the French we’d all be speaking English right now” into next week’s lesson.

LOWLIGHTS: Unemployed, on a year-long forced haiatus from college.

HIGHLIGHTS: Plenty of free time for playing through Fallout 2 again. Yee-haw.

Chestnuts roasted by Jedoc @ 09/16/2006 10:18 PM

Highlights:
*Rediscovering the glowing monster balloon on here from 10/2/2004. I so plan to make tons of those.
*Finding sparkly lime green nailpolish that likely goes against all rules of fashion, but is still pretty darn cool. I love funky nailpolish colors. ♥
*Spooky central at Walmart!

Lowlights:
*Having not-an-eye-infection but something my eye doctor never diagnosed but gave me meds for Monday. It’s symptom free by now anyway, so I guess that could be another highlight. ;)
*The fact that the Philosophy 1010 book that I need urgently (basically two weeks ago) and ordered from Borders three weeks ago still hasn’t come in.

Matt – What are yours?

Chestnuts roasted by Christine @ 09/16/2006 10:21 PM

low: Have you ever played ‘find the smell’? I found it — two days later. (dead mouse)

high: watching Goodburger for the first time

New lowlight: finding out that the Nickelodeon time capsule was prematurely dug up to make way for some new attraction at Universal Studios. :*-(

With this and the closing of the Back to the Future ride, I now officially hate the Universal Studios theme park and vow never to return there.

Chestnuts roasted by Joseph Valencia @ 09/16/2006 10:32 PM

If you want to know the lows and high of my week, I’ve actually discussed them in the latest entry on my blog.

Furthermore, I’ve made a tribute to Nintendo’s Mario Energy Drink called “Power Up!” I just discovered it today at Hot Topic. Check it out!

Oh, and I realize that I haven’t ben posting much lately. This due to the fact that I’m currently busy with kendo, Japanese class, and tutoring Japanese people. All three of those activities involve Japan. Makes sense that I’m going there I guess.

Chestnuts roasted by Nate @ 09/16/2006 10:42 PM

Christine: I have a picture of that glowing balloon monster as my desktop wallpaper! I really need to make some of those… And I adore sparkly nail polish. I say the heck with fashion. My fingernails, my color choice.

Chestnuts roasted by jazzy @ 09/16/2006 10:53 PM

Highlights: Going to the US of A to go halloween shopping. My husband actually surprising me with not being cheep and offering to buy Jones soda. My sons first birthday. And I had friends over today that I havent see in a very long time!

Lowlights: As always my husband working midnights, and an annoying zit on the tip of my nose!

Happy birthday Jazzy!

Jedoc, consider it done.
One thing I can never understand: The students all want to learn about the Civil War and WWII but never the Revolution. WWII I can see, (Nazis, Holocaust, Pearl Harbor) but the Revolution is something they already have at least SOME prior knowledge of but it never really is something they want to learn more about.

Chestnuts roasted by The Manimal @ 09/16/2006 11:30 PM

Joseph Valencia

WHAT? Name your sources, STAT.
I was just at Universal in June and I mourned Nick Studios; the only thing that consoled me was the capsule, which Nickelodeon had stated wouldn’t be dug up until 2042, I think.

Now that’s MY new low, too.

Chestnuts roasted by Denise @ 09/16/2006 11:36 PM

Well I guess the highlight of my week was probably my birthday (Saturday the 16th) which was fairly tame. I got some money, a cd, a cake, spaghetti with family, sat out and had a bonfire… and I got a paperweight and a craftish bee made out of old jingly bell things from my aunt and uncle, who are notorious for seeming to have no idea of my tastes.

I will admit though, I am always using illegitimate paper weights (books, DVDs, action figures) to hold down my stacks of drawings and such; now I have a legitimate one. I’m an old-fashioned kind of guy.

The other highlight would be getting the Transformers Star Wars Millenium Falcon. Seriously folks, if you have any love for Star Wars, robots, Transformers… get this toy. It is FANTASTIC. Two robots with heads modeled after Harrison Ford and Chewbacca (that also come with small Han Solo & Chewbacca figures for the mech cockpits) combine to form the Millenium Falcon which has electronic lights, sounds and movie quotes! They come in robot mode, but after combining them I can’t bring myself to separating them again; the ship is just too pretty.

Matt, seriously, consider picking this thing up and taking a crack at it. It is the BEST of the Star Wars Transformers line, and if you regret getting it for any reason, I will personally reimburse your cash. That is how confident I am in the awesomeness of this toy.

Denise:

According to the wikipedia entry for Nickelodeon Studios, the Nick time capsule was removed last month and replaced with a slab of concrete. :-(

Chestnuts roasted by Joseph Valencia @ 09/16/2006 11:58 PM

Denise

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickelodeon_Studios

The Slime Geyser in front of Soundstage 18 was removed in May 2005. The trademark “Nickelodeon” sign above the facility was removed in January 2006. A time capsule buried by the network in 1992 in front of Soundstage 18 was removed in mid-August, 2006 and was replaced with a concrete slab. The Time Capsule contained items deemed to be important to the children of 1992 as voted upon by Nickelodeon viewers, and included such items as a new Nintendo GameBoy, a then-current issue of “Nickelodeon Magazine” and other various toys, many of which were Nick-related. The time capsule was scheduled to be opened on April 30, 2042, 50 years after it was buried.

I don’t think my week had any real highlights or lowlights. Nothing interesting enough to put words to, at least. Instead, I’ll just say that it’s past midnight and I’ll probably be up till noon. :o
