highlight: first post! (I think)

Ghosted by Lilly @ 09/16/2006 6:46 PM EDT

Highlight, saw a friend unexpectedly. Lowlights, the fact that this week should have ended about 3 weeks ago.

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 09/16/2006 6:58 PM EDT

The highlight of my week? That’d be a three-way tie between getting to watch the first half of Casablanca in Film Lit, playing Final Fantasy 5 and remembering how fun it is, and finally getting to use the computer on Friday.
The lowlight? No-brainer. That’s getting about 4 worksheets of homework for PhysChem. 4! Plus I have Section Review for homework too. I hate PhysChem.

Highlight – X-E Halloween Countdown 2k6!!!
Lowlight – Working for the weekend, then working all weekend.

Ghosted by Sara @ 09/16/2006 7:03 PM EDT

Highlight, being on vacation in Athens from Friday till Thursday.
Lowlight, flight returned being delayed for like 4 hours, plus I’ve got my car fixed while I was on vacation and it costed 750 euros (which must be around 1000 USD), plus on monday I start work again…oh, this really was a week with way to much distance between my highlights and my lowlights…

Got in trouble at work.Saw the flaming lips

Ghosted by Agent M @ 09/16/2006 7:30 PM EDT

This was a mostly bad week. The highlight was watching lots of episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Youtube. The lowlight was too whiny when I typed it, so I’ll leave it out.

Ghosted by Katherine @ 09/16/2006 7:40 PM EDT

Highlight: Got laid.
Lowlight: Too drunk to remember getting laid.

Ghosted by Al @ 09/16/2006 7:43 PM EDT

Highlight…my cousin who’s in the navy surprised us with a visit.

Lowlight…still being unemployed and living at home. It’s only been three weeks and I’m starting to go crazy.

Ghosted by Jeff Mack @ 09/16/2006 7:43 PM EDT

Highlight: Yay eBay Mystery Auctions and cheap Halloween goodies.

Lowlight: I went to Target and they were out of the Limited Edition Halloween My Little Ponies. I went to Customer Service and made them go look in the back for me. Still none. I also had to work like a billion hours this week. And still no one loves me. :(

Ghosted by Mystie @ 09/16/2006 7:48 PM EDT

Lowlights: I ate fresh spinach out of a bag on Monday. Yes, chances are slim that I’m gonna get sick, but ecoli can take up to eight days to make you ill. Also, I had a tooth pulled and 4 crowns prepped yesterday, unfun. One last lowlight, Liriano is out for the season. :(
Highlights: I now have no more drilling on my teeth scheduled! And my mom and sister are coming out from Seattle this week for a visit. AND I “played” outside with my son today for a couple hours.

Ghosted by kb @ 09/16/2006 7:53 PM EDT

I’m so pathetic, I don’t even have a highlight. I’m gonna go with being able to watch new anime tonight.

Lowlight: Having another week to get through before my vacation starts, and still not having been able to find a new TV or Monitor yet.

Ghosted by Ryane @ 09/16/2006 7:54 PM EDT

Don’t worry, kb,, I’ll be having ecoli with you. I was eating Herb Salad all week from Natural Selection and that has spinich in it.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 09/16/2006 8:03 PM EDT

Jeff – You can have one of my jobs… I have 4.

Ghosted by Sara @ 09/16/2006 8:05 PM EDT

Highlights: Volunteering at the thrift shop again today. Getting my chores done. Finally being able to clean my apartment. Making brownies and fresh peach crisp that came out really well. My knee’s finally healed enough that I can dispense with the heavy brace and just use an Ace bandage. Getting a good paycheck thanks to extra Labor Day hours.

Lowlights: Crappy humid weather. A mix-up with my ride to work on Thursday. Not winning the Sailor Pluto doll at eBay I had my eye on. I just hate my job, period; I’m so sick of being a cashier and feeling like a reject from a Kevin Smith movie, but I’m not having any more luck finding something better than most of you. The hours I got last week were rarer than snow in the desert.

Ghosted by starwenn @ 09/16/2006 8:11 PM EDT

Highlights- Voltron on DVD. Having lovely conversation with fellow grad students (I’ve been without peer-type casual conversation for a while)

Lowlights- Too much work/reading for said grad program.

Ghosted by X @ 09/16/2006 8:20 PM EDT

Highlight – Buying a bunch of stuff today (including Halloween merchandise at Target, although they didn’t have the Roseanne DVD :( ).

Lowlight – Missing my train by a few seconds after my last class of the week. I had to walk around in the rain for an hour.

Ghosted by Hey I'm Jeff @ 09/16/2006 8:29 PM EDT

Highlights: Bought The Office Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD! Also, my Tamagotchi had a new baby :)

Lowlights: Was sick Monday night and most of Tuesday. I actually threw up in the gas station parking lot on Tuesday morning (but that didn’t stop me from getting to Best Buy for the DVDs!)

Ghosted by Lilly @ 09/16/2006 8:34 PM EDT

Highlight: getting back some important test results and finding out that i wasnt going to die! yay big highlight!
lowlight: finding out my ex is talking to someone new…ugh no fun.

Ghosted by Katella @ 09/16/2006 8:35 PM EDT

oh and of course X-E is a highlight too! it keeps me sane!

Ghosted by katella @ 09/16/2006 8:35 PM EDT

Highlights – The countdown, obviously. Partying with my friends last night. Blowing my birthday money (21 in just over three hours! Whoo!) on three new CDs that I am LOVING. I got the new Muse, the new Franz Ferdinand and the old Scissor Sisters. Everyone’s making a big deal about my birthday which is awesome.

Lowlights – My ex’s psychotic mother coming to my house demanding that I give her the dog that my ex SAID I COULD KEEP before he moved out. I told her to get off my property or I’d call the cops. Now she is threatening “court action” to get custody of a dog that was never hers to begin with. *sigh* It seems like this stuff only happens to me…

Ghosted by jazzy @ 09/16/2006 8:36 PM EDT

Highlight- Went out today and blew my ENTIRE paycheck on only things Halloween-themed
Lowlight- Same, as I now have no cash for the week…

Ghosted by cait @ 09/16/2006 8:59 PM EDT

Highlight: Attending two tapings of Maury with my best friend (who I never get to see anymore) on my birthday!
Low: My lame extended family visiting and pretending to care about my birthday, which they haven’t for my entire 19 years. The only reason they acknowledged it was because my grandmother passed away last week, so everyone had to write thank you cards or whatever today. I really hate my father’s side of the family. :(

Ghosted by Denise @ 09/16/2006 9:04 PM EDT

I just realized after reading cait’s post that the true highlight of my week was going to Party City and getting a bag of rats.

Ghosted by Katherine @ 09/16/2006 9:15 PM EDT

Highlights: finding out I dont have heart disease. yay. Finding the Hello Kitty victorian dollhouse for my daughter for Christmas. Scoring a halloween beanie baby cat from Stopo N Shop for 1.75 on marked clearance.

Lowlights: still being ill with no clue whats wrong.

Had no idea there was a Halloween special ed My Little Pony… I must…have….it

Ghosted by kittycatgirl2k @ 09/16/2006 9:27 PM EDT

Highlight: Starting the Halloween coverage on my website.

Lowlight: Linux deciding that I don’t have permission to access two of my three hard drives, one of which contains a lot of the Halloween stuff I was going to talk about on said website.

Ghosted by Jeff @ 09/16/2006 9:37 PM EDT

denise – was anyone the father???

jazzy – happy birthday!

highlights: release date for wii announced.
lowlights: working 7 days a week now; possibly failed a test on thursday; want to break up w/ girlfriend but we just got back together and it could be awkward

Ghosted by kyle @ 09/16/2006 9:37 PM EDT

Highlights – the flaming lips show tuesday. See my super awesome pictures from it in my blog (click my name, leave some comments)

Lowlights – 1. Fighting with my girlfriend. She needs to learn how to treat a gentleman. 2. At this very moment I’m stuck selling merch to a bunch of frunk hicks for Govt Mule. Holy shit this is terrible. Save me . atleast I’m making shittons of $$$. That can be a highlight.

Ghosted by brian @ 09/16/2006 9:40 PM EDT

UP: Lego Star Wars 2, bartending my friend’s birthday last night and serving up my signature drink, The Admiral (Ackbar), X-Files on DVD through the man-thing’s Netflix

DOWN: Acting as den mother to friends who are all 3-15 years older then I. The L train not running nights when I get out of work at 2 am.

Ghosted by Gadget @ 09/16/2006 9:53 PM EDT

Highs…finally got a day off from work…Lows…got my car towed by NY cops because Geico insurance sucks!….Go Buffalo!

Ghosted by twiztidjuggaluva @ 09/16/2006 9:55 PM EDT

Highlights: I went to Target and found the My Little Pony Halloween ‘pail’ ( I already have my Halloween ponies, two sets, one to open and one to keep MIP ^_~), I also got my Jones Soda Lemon Drop Dead, candy corn and some sparkley Halloween magnets. I got the new computer desk I’ve been eyeing for months.

Lowlights: Personal stuff has me down. And I’m dreading getting up at 5:00 A.M. tomorrow but that’s every Sun now so it doesn’t really count.

Ghosted by Realm @ 09/16/2006 9:59 PM EDT

Highlight-Teaching the Revolutionary War :)
Lowlight-Teaching the Revolutionary War to kids with no appreciation or frame of reference of anything that occured before 1996. :(

Went to TARGET and picked up one of the mini-gargoyles and tombstones. Then over to the grand-opening of HOBBY LOBBY to see the the sights. Verdict-meh. A larger MICHAELS filled with over-priced whatnots.

Happy Birthday Jazzy and happy SNT to us all.

High-Mummy Mango Mojitos from Target!!!

Low-Major home renovation.

Ghosted by Fungusmungus @ 09/16/2006 10:07 PM EDT

Highlights: Marlins winning the 2003 World Series, Marlins winning the 1997 World Series, elementary school, the day my family bought a widescreen TV, getting my own computer.

Lowlights: High school, the day I realized stores stopped stocking Vanilla Coke, realizing that the Back to the Future trilogy has to come to an end, the moment my iPod Nano’s hard drive reached its storage limit.

Ghosted by Joseph Valencia @ 09/16/2006 10:16 PM EDT

Manimal: I’ll give you a cookie if you work the phrase “If it weren’t for the French we’d all be speaking English right now” into next week’s lesson.

LOWLIGHTS: Unemployed, on a year-long forced haiatus from college.

HIGHLIGHTS: Plenty of free time for playing through Fallout 2 again. Yee-haw.

Ghosted by Jedoc @ 09/16/2006 10:18 PM EDT

Highlights:
*Rediscovering the glowing monster balloon on here from 10/2/2004. I so plan to make tons of those.
*Finding sparkly lime green nailpolish that likely goes against all rules of fashion, but is still pretty darn cool. I love funky nailpolish colors. ♥
*Spooky central at Walmart!

Lowlights:
*Having not-an-eye-infection but something my eye doctor never diagnosed but gave me meds for Monday. It’s symptom free by now anyway, so I guess that could be another highlight. ;)
*The fact that the Philosophy 1010 book that I need urgently (basically two weeks ago) and ordered from Borders three weeks ago still hasn’t come in.

Matt – What are yours?

Ghosted by Christine @ 09/16/2006 10:21 PM EDT

low: Have you ever played ‘find the smell’? I found it — two days later. (dead mouse)

high: watching Goodburger for the first time

Ghosted by jrh @ 09/16/2006 10:25 PM EDT

New lowlight: finding out that the Nickelodeon time capsule was prematurely dug up to make way for some new attraction at Universal Studios. :*-(

With this and the closing of the Back to the Future ride, I now officially hate the Universal Studios theme park and vow never to return there.

Ghosted by Joseph Valencia @ 09/16/2006 10:32 PM EDT

If you want to know the lows and high of my week, I’ve actually discussed them in the latest entry on my blog.

Furthermore, I’ve made a tribute to Nintendo’s Mario Energy Drink called “Power Up!” I just discovered it today at Hot Topic. Check it out!

Oh, and I realize that I haven’t ben posting much lately. This due to the fact that I’m currently busy with kendo, Japanese class, and tutoring Japanese people. All three of those activities involve Japan. Makes sense that I’m going there I guess.

Ghosted by Nate @ 09/16/2006 10:42 PM EDT

Christine: I have a picture of that glowing balloon monster as my desktop wallpaper! I really need to make some of those… And I adore sparkly nail polish. I say the heck with fashion. My fingernails, my color choice.

Ghosted by jazzy @ 09/16/2006 10:53 PM EDT

Highlights: Going to the US of A to go halloween shopping. My husband actually surprising me with not being cheep and offering to buy Jones soda. My sons first birthday. And I had friends over today that I havent see in a very long time!

Lowlights: As always my husband working midnights, and an annoying zit on the tip of my nose!

Happy birthday Jazzy!

Ghosted by IHAQ @ 09/16/2006 11:09 PM EDT

Jedoc, consider it done.
One thing I can never understand: The students all want to learn about the Civil War and WWII but never the Revolution. WWII I can see, (Nazis, Holocaust, Pearl Harbor) but the Revolution is something they already have at least SOME prior knowledge of but it never really is something they want to learn more about.

Ghosted by The Manimal @ 09/16/2006 11:30 PM EDT

Joseph Valencia

WHAT? Name your sources, STAT.
I was just at Universal in June and I mourned Nick Studios; the only thing that consoled me was the capsule, which Nickelodeon had stated wouldn’t be dug up until 2042, I think.

Now that’s MY new low, too.

Ghosted by Denise @ 09/16/2006 11:36 PM EDT

Well I guess the highlight of my week was probably my birthday (Saturday the 16th) which was fairly tame. I got some money, a cd, a cake, spaghetti with family, sat out and had a bonfire… and I got a paperweight and a craftish bee made out of old jingly bell things from my aunt and uncle, who are notorious for seeming to have no idea of my tastes.

I will admit though, I am always using illegitimate paper weights (books, DVDs, action figures) to hold down my stacks of drawings and such; now I have a legitimate one. I’m an old-fashioned kind of guy.

The other highlight would be getting the Transformers Star Wars Millenium Falcon. Seriously folks, if you have any love for Star Wars, robots, Transformers… get this toy. It is FANTASTIC. Two robots with heads modeled after Harrison Ford and Chewbacca (that also come with small Han Solo & Chewbacca figures for the mech cockpits) combine to form the Millenium Falcon which has electronic lights, sounds and movie quotes! They come in robot mode, but after combining them I can’t bring myself to separating them again; the ship is just too pretty.

Matt, seriously, consider picking this thing up and taking a crack at it. It is the BEST of the Star Wars Transformers line, and if you regret getting it for any reason, I will personally reimburse your cash. That is how confident I am in the awesomeness of this toy.

Denise:

According to the wikipedia entry for Nickelodeon Studios, the Nick time capsule was removed last month and replaced with a slab of concrete. :-(

Ghosted by Joseph Valencia @ 09/16/2006 11:58 PM EDT

Denise

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickelodeon_Studios

The Slime Geyser in front of Soundstage 18 was removed in May 2005. The trademark “Nickelodeon” sign above the facility was removed in January 2006. A time capsule buried by the network in 1992 in front of Soundstage 18 was removed in mid-August, 2006 and was replaced with a concrete slab. The Time Capsule contained items deemed to be important to the children of 1992 as voted upon by Nickelodeon viewers, and included such items as a new Nintendo GameBoy, a then-current issue of “Nickelodeon Magazine” and other various toys, many of which were Nick-related. The time capsule was scheduled to be opened on April 30, 2042, 50 years after it was buried.

Happy birthday Jazzy!

Highlights:
Definitely tops is the Halloween Countdown. Every new post is a joy. :) :) :)
The weather turning overcast/windy, though it’s supposed to heat back up tomorrow.
Realizing that Rainn Wilson is in Baaadassss! (sp?), which I’ve never had much incentive to watch before now, despite owning it.
Fashion Week photos.
Looking forward to all the finales/premieres of my shows.

Lowlights:
Not being able to buy all the Arrested Development, Lost, Star Wars and The Office DVDs I want.
The daily grind.
That lame ass twist on Project Runway.
Waiting for all the finales/premieres of my shows.

Did anybody sport khaki Friday in honor of old Steve-o? I was afraid I’d got the date wrong, but I figured it’s the thought, right?

Ghosted by squee4242 @ 09/17/2006 12:00 AM EDT

I don’t think my week had any real highlights or lowlights. Nothing interesting enough to put words to, at least. Instead, I’ll just say that it’s past midnight and I’ll probably be up till noon. :o

Ghosted by Matt @ 09/17/2006 12:13 AM EDT

Highlight: Just got back from Dropkick Murphys show..INSANE. Oh, and losing my SNT Virginity!

Lowlight: The Long ass buss ride home everyday from work. At least my DS & Mario Kart keeps me company. Did anyone get Star Wars Lego for the DS?

Having freaking fun!
Seeing Tim Curry as a permanate fixture on the halloween countdown!
