Even with all of its campy glory, it's films like F13 P3 that literally HURT its viewers with terrific eye strain. When your eyes are constantly adjusting to various convergences (ie. things coming out at you constantly), you get a terrible headache by the end of it.

Still, this is certainly not the worst entry in the '80s cannon of 3-D films. Stuff like TREASURE OF THE FOUR CROWNS, JAWS 3-D, PARASITE (with a young Demi Moore) and THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE are all awful, and I'm sad to say I projected all of them theatrically at some point.

If you do get to see F133D, see it properly, with polaroid glasses rather than anaglyph ones. It truly makes a difference, particularly with the off-the-screen stuff.

I was lucky to see F13 3D at a Drive-In around last Halloween, it was the last movie in an all-night horror movie marathon. The Effects were nothing short of amazing, even the damn Yo-Yo. Jason was breaking out of the screen as the sun was rising, We had McDonald's breakfast on the way home, easily one of the best nights EVER!

I wish they would make the old Collegeville costumes in adult sizes, just for giggles. It would make my Hallowe'en to see grown-ups in vinyl jumpsuits printed with a picture of a cartoon and the cheapo platic mask with the elastc string. I would buy one, of course.

This is way off topic (off season, even) but I just found out Trans-Siberian Orchestra is coming here in November. Oh hell yes, I HAVE to go see that.

That is all, you may return to your regularly scheduled Halloween-and-OLP discussion.

Rosella (aka Joey)- Yes, I think it will be playing in most major cities throughout the country for two days only (Sept. 20 & 21) in honor of the new Nightmare on Elm Street DVD release. They are playing a montage of Freddy's best kills before the movie...can't wait to see it!

I remember the 3d scenes from the End of the one Nightmare on Elm Street movie. It was Freddy's Dead I think. They had to use 3D glasses to go into some weird altered state of reality. the scene at the end with thousands of little Freddy heads freaked me out in the theater.

Did anyone ever play those 3D videogames back in the early to mid 90s? They sold some special glasses that worked with different games; each game had to be programmed to work with the glasses.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see the Wii come out with some 3d glasses. Along with the new controller it would make for a super-immersive experience. Can you imagine riding around on a horse in that new Zelda game, shooting arrows by pulling back a virtual bow, and watching your arrow fly "away" from you and hit baddies?
