Fright Bites and a new Halloween Jukebox!

I have a feeling you're going to want what today's Halloween Countdown entry is about. Made by Snak King, it's "Fright Bites," the only tortilla chips in history shaped and colored like bats, pumpkins and ghosts! They're better in concept than execution, but even a shittily executed bat-shaped tortilla chip is welcomed.

I have a friend who chooses to go by the name "Tummi" whenever I mention him on the site. I'm not sure why; he's never expressed any major love for Disney's Gummi Bears. But, as he's been a big help behind the scenes, I'll call him what he wants.

Aside from handling a lot of the backstage encoding, Tummi is responsible for the holiday jukeboxes. This year, he's revitalized the Halloween Jukebox with a new order, new songs and new hidden messages meant to inspire you to kill people. Click here to give it a listen! New songs include everything from the Count Duckula theme to MC Hammer rappin' philosophical about the Addams Family. There was only so much he could do with the pitiful amount of real Halloween songs available, but I think it's pretty rockin. Thank you TUMMI. The new juke is also linked in all of the 2006 Countdown entries for easy access.

Invader Norbert: did they play “A Quick One”? That was always my favorite.

OOOOOHoohoo, a diehard Nightmare fan, who happens to be a friend of mine, well let’s just say he holds FOB and P!ATD as satanic as he holds Nightmare holy.

Can’t wait to tell him. At least I’ll like the remakes :)

An updated Halloween jukebox? Pure awesome. I know I downloaded at least half of the songs from the only one and put them on my regualr playlist.

Goob: Fergully wasn’t Disney, it was 20th Century Fox. It does feature the almighty Tim Curry.

i leave way too many comments on these blogs, but i have no one else to talk to. i am lame.

spoodles; it also features Robin Williams. who is Batty. and anytime Robin Williams gets to rap, I’m going to be listening.

yeah, the whole Nightmare Before Christmas thing is unsettling. I love me some Fall Out Boy, but I just don’t think you’re supposed to mess with that stuff. What are they going to do next? CGi Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with Fall Out Boy covering “We’re A Couple of Misfits”? oh dear, lord. that sounds almost too perfect for them. let’s hope they don’t read this.

I’d like Patrick as the Snowman. No offense to Burl Ives, but hey, you gotta pick your loyalties.

Is it wrong that I want to put Pete’s Gap Ad on my wall of clippings? :P

Chestnuts roasted by Knegative @ 09/14/2006 2:23 PM

As a direhard Clandestine Industries whore/fan (see my portfolio in my blog), I was very very upset at Pete’s Gap ad. that face he’s making is so random. And the fact that the first time I saw it was on a bus when I was visiting NYC was even weirder. He needs to stick to the Clan. speaking of which, have you seen the video of the Clandestine Industries fashion show? it’s on youtube and it’s the saddest thing ive ever seen…scene?

Patrick would be an adorable snowman. So long as Joe gets to be the Abominable Snowman. Thats what he gets for being Jewish.

Yeah, it caught me offguard the first time I saw it. But then my whole “you can never have too many people questioning which side you hit for” instincts kicked in, and I’m like this is going to eventually adorn my wall.

Does anyone else wonder what Bitner is doing for Halloween?

Chestnuts roasted by Old E @ 09/14/2006 2:42 PM

Boo old jukebox, hooray for the new jukebox! Hooray beer!

Chestnuts roasted by Darth Poop @ 09/14/2006 2:56 PM

brianfax — You get the new Cursive disc yet? Tim Kasher is an effin’ genius. Screwed up, yes, but still an effin’ genius. Proves yet again that emo isn’t all about teenagers crying about breaking up with their girlfriends.

Chestnuts roasted by LemurCat @ 09/14/2006 3:02 PM

Duece: Probably, I didn’t know the titles of a good # of songs they played (like, I knew that “Teenage Wasteland” isn’t the title of that song, it’s something else, but I don’t remember it. They did play this one, and it was awesome)

Plus, at around 3/4 or so into the concert, Pete Townsend was talking about the stage, and he says at the end of this “…I think I’m some sort of Rock Star.” Probably from now on, I’m gonna use that for my XE name

Chestnuts roasted by Invader "...I think I'm some sort of Rock Star" Norbert @ 09/14/2006 3:03 PM

That song isn’t called Teenage Wasteland? What the heck is it called then?

Chestnuts roasted by jazzy @ 09/14/2006 3:06 PM

Isn’t it Baba O Riley (sp?). That’s what Wikipedia said, because I wasn’t sure of my hunch, and they seem to confirm it.

I could still be wrong.

Chestnuts roasted by Knegative @ 09/14/2006 3:11 PM

Boo scary foot doctors! Hooray beer!

You know those commercials are good when they pretty much brainwash you into buying Red Stripe beer. It’s not bad though, that is, if you like dark beers. I still prefer my Shiner Bock.

Chestnuts roasted by Deuce @ 09/14/2006 3:17 PM

You all make my head hurt.

OF COURSE IT’S BABA O’RILEY! Jesus, what’s wrong with you all? Are you so thoroughly lacking in good music that you don’t even know The Who? My God! What next? Don’t tell me you don’t know who Bob Dylan is? Or Joe Strummer? Or Jimmy Paige and Robert Plant?

I’m so thoroughly depressed by you all.

Chestnuts roasted by LemurCat @ 09/14/2006 3:18 PM

Do you know who Raine Maida is? :D

Chestnuts roasted by Knegative @ 09/14/2006 3:23 PM

He’s the frontman for Our Lady Peace. Nice try, K-Neg. And produced that pseudo-punk rawk chick April Levine, I mean Avril Lavigne.

And Roger Daltry can kick his ass.

Chestnuts roasted by LemurCat @ 09/14/2006 3:26 PM

Gah. That Grinning Ghouls/Ghosts/whatever song from Haunted Mansion! I remember hearing that in a really cool Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 video a long time ago. I don’t suppose anyone else knows what I’m talking about, do they?

Chestnuts roasted by ChibiSoma @ 09/14/2006 3:43 PM

I know that we’re barely into the Halloween season here, but I’ve stumbled across some Christmas goodness that I just had to share. Click my name if you’re one of the many (like me) who grew up celebrating the arrival of the annual Sears Wish-Book almost as much as Christmas Day itself.

Chestnuts roasted by The Yeti @ 09/14/2006 3:51 PM

Anybody see that Blue Man Group thing on PBS recently? They performed a interesting arrangement of Baba O’Riley that used the Backpack Tubulum and Piano Smasher. (Never thought I’d type a sentence like that.) Could have used a different vocalist, though.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 09/14/2006 4:42 PM

Oh hell yes I have the new cursive disc. One of my many jobs is at a record store, so I got my greedy hands on a promo copy 3 weeks ahead of the release date.

And I don’t know if I already mentioned it, but cursive is playing in my town ON MY BIRTHDAY (november 16th…ill be 20). Annnnnnddd Jeremy Enigk may open for them. If you don’t know who Jeremy Enigk is, he’s the frontman for the amazing early-90s TRUE emo outfit Sunny Day Real Estate. Omfg. I’m a mega fanboy right now. Haha

PS – matt, X-E is NOT Sidekick friendly. I’m at work and i m not allowed to read magazines, but they can’t take my “phone” away

Chestnuts roasted by brianfax @ 09/14/2006 5:29 PM

You do all know that it is commonly accepted (and credited by Csi: NY) as TEENAGE WASTELAND. The last such mockery was on this season of Rockstar Supernova.

Chestnuts roasted by Old E @ 09/14/2006 6:04 PM

Holy Jeezus…that Halloween Mega-Mix on the jukebox is something else. I can feel little horn-nubs start to poke at the surface of my forehead when I listen to it.

Chestnuts roasted by The Yeti @ 09/14/2006 7:00 PM

Thank you LemurCat for being unnecessarily rude, unless you were being histrionic for comedic effect and it just didn’t translate well in text.

I happen to know who all those people are. I just didn’t know that song was called Baba O’Reilly, for you see, when I listen to the song I hear the words “teenage wasteland” about 400 times and the words “Baba O’Reilly” zero times. Nor has ANYONE ever told me the name of the song.

I hardly think not knowing the name of one song that came out when my mom was a teenager means I don’t like good music. Do you know who Franz Liszt is? Do you? Hmm?
