Some favorite X-E articles that come to mind include the infamous Hungry Man Breakfast article, the Hulk reviewing his fine movie tie-in products, the re-creating the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving… there are too many to list!! I also REALLY enjoy the holidays at X-E, I have been here through three Christmas countdowns. Also, I like the annual Macy’s Parade reviews.

This reminds me, is there an archive page someplace that lists ALL of the X-E articles from the very beginning of time? I hate having to rely on my foggy memory and the search box for anything earlier than the Garbage Pail Kids snappers on the main page.

Thanks and keep up the great work on the site!

Luap: Apparently the Princess is a paralell universe version of Mae West.

Whou would of thunk it?

Those plaid pants were too much.

Actually somebody on a message board (yesterdayland.org) linked to the hungryman breakfast review for some reason and I just read and read after that. This was the beginning of the Halloween countdown, two Halloween’s ago. So this is my third one I will spend with X-E. My sister’s were confused when they saw me looking at commerical after old commerical. Good times heh. My oldest sister asked me, "why do you have a thing for commercials now?"

I love the chocodile one never having one though is confusing but I love the pictures. I love the thought of eating something a long time ago and knowing it’s hard to get but you can still get it somehow. When he got all of those random things from the video store. I love those stores because the stuff in there is SO OLD. Another reason why I love goodwill and garage sales. They are getting so you can goto like 7 a day recently, I have been begging my roommate to goto them, either they suck or he won’t let me :( I can’t go on ebay so doing the "online garage sale" thang can’t work out either oh well.

I loved the article about Corey Haim’s tooth on eBay. So funny and cruel you almost feel sorry for the douchebag. Almost.

I have a Pepperidge Farm outlet store near me, but I’ve never been. Does anyone have one of those nearby? Is it worth going?

Really glad you’re feeling better, Matt.
Jon: Nope. There are a few ways to get to old versions of front pages. Plus there are a couple of smaller archives, one of Spooky articles and one in the 3rd Year Anniversary article. I can’t help with links at the moment but you can hit up the site search.
LOL Manimal, I must be morbid too because that thought as occured to me before.

Chestnuts roasted by squee4242 @ 07/16/2006 4:04 AM

The Manimal: Hah, bugger that. When I die, you’ll all be fully aware of it. Less of the "peacefully in his sleep" and more of the "visible from orbit" and "international community reeling," right?

Seriously, though, that is an oddly compelling thought. When you really think about it, it’s a bit strange that there aren’t more "ghost in the machine" urban legends floating around about this sort of thing. What does that say? That we’re not as intimidated by the internet as we are, for instance, microwaves? Any folklorists on the board today?

My personal favorite articles are the internet scams. The absolute best one was where Matt sold moss, twigs, dirt, and rocks from his backyard as a "Magical Mystery Kit" or some such thing. The fact he sold it at all was hilarious, but he sold it for a lot- like 10 or 20 bucks, plus shipping.

I also liked the tributes to less popular Transformers. You know, I haven’t seen a TF or G.I. Joe article on here in a long time. That makes me sad.

Chestnuts roasted by spaz307 @ 07/16/2006 10:55 AM

My favorite article is "X-E Invades Atlantic City" just because I love that pic of Matt holding a plastic penis.

2 favorite articles come to mind: Spiderman Reviews Crayola Crayons, and Worst Gameroom of All Time.

Chestnuts roasted by Ryane @ 07/16/2006 12:06 PM

Anyone correct me if I’m wrong, but am I the first X-Eer(huh?!) to post from the beach? I’m at sandy hook nj and its fureakin hot! But I’m able to post all thanks to my sidekick 3 lol. My fav articles? Anything with toys. Like when skeletor wanted that pepsi blue. Or when spiderman counted down the crayons! I love that stuff!

Chestnuts roasted by PRSense @ 07/16/2006 12:09 PM

Jedoc, you can call me Manimal. I think we are familiar enough to drop the article in front of my moniker. However, if you want to keep it formal, than The Manimal is also acceptable.

The Worst Game Room was a great one! Good call.

Chestnuts roasted by The Manimal @ 07/16/2006 1:06 PM

My favorite article is the one about the Wizard movie. Hard to believe that they got away with a colossal advertisement for Nintendo.

In response to the Hostess outlet post earlier, I do like those outlets too, but they are difficult to find. Out here in Raleigh (home of the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes) there’s a Sunbeam/Holsum outlet that has lots of good cookie and snack deals.

Chestnuts roasted by mjf7583 @ 07/16/2006 2:30 PM

I love the Worst Game Room, the incomplete Chia Plot (I think the Chia ate everybody and Fearless Leader didn’t want to tell us), but my favorite thread was when Matt disappeared unexpectedly, leaving us unsupervised. I like the threads that attain a life of their own, and all our collective weirdness reaches critical mass. Like Matt’s "Tell Me A Story" question.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 07/16/2006 2:43 PM

Oh man I just remembered we had one of those hostess/wonderbread outlets here too! But it wasn’t in the best neigborhood soooo……. yea that place is closed

Chestnuts roasted by PRSense @ 07/16/2006 3:05 PM

Best articles, huh? Of course, in general I’ve always liked the trip ones and the old place ones (video store, gameroom, etc). For ones that I haven’t seen mentioned, Alf Cakes. Loved the Alf Cake article. Also the finale of the Petster article. That was gold. Go cats! It’s your birthday! There have been so many great ones, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Oh, Nads! How could I forget Nads?

The blog has been great as well. Photog, of course! The "Matt’s Adventures at Staples" blog was fabulous (221). It’s harder to think of great blogs because they so often turn into something completely different from where they began. It’s always fun to read what you guys have to say, though.

And on a completely unrelated note (except to the topic of driving, that is), I finally got my license. I’ve never mentioned it to you guys, but I’ve been slowly working towards this goal for three years. I figured I’d wait until I turned 21 to skip the whole vertical license thing, and I finally did it. I was so excited to tell someone, but none of my friends are in town right now. So yay, guys, know you know.

Also, congratulations, Matt! You’re well!

Chestnuts roasted by Rainbowfeet @ 07/16/2006 7:21 PM

i still like the article that pointed me to the site in the first place: the one about the star wars presto-magix.

is anyone else ready to fight hbo in the parking lot behind hardees after school for cancelling deadwood?

Chestnuts roasted by consulatsunset @ 07/16/2006 10:07 PM

I have only been reading the site for about a year, but by far The Worst Witch article has got to be the best ever. I thought that I was the only one who remembered that movie. I used to wait for it to come on every Halloween. Tim Curry RULES!

Day late and half drunk. Long live the Saturday night.

Chestnuts roasted by VigoWilcifer @ 07/16/2006 11:03 PM

Congratulations, Rainbowfeet. I myself was 19 when I got my license, 16 just seems criminally young.

I believe it was Milch who said he wouldn’t do another season of Deadwood, not HBO. I get mad at HBO for pushing back Deadwood’s season until June, or not releasing the Oz DVD until 8 months after they said they would, but I am HBO’s bitch. I’ll keep watching whatever they’re showing.

Chestnuts roasted by Welsh Rabbit @ 07/16/2006 11:14 PM

Why thank you, Welsh Rabbit. I agree. 16 seems to be way too young for most people to drive.

Chestnuts roasted by Rainbowfeet @ 07/17/2006 1:45 AM

Wow…favorite article ever? That is tough…’The Worst Witch’ article made me laugh out loud a LOT, in public too…I also enjoyed all the trip articles, the Worst Game Room Ever, and the article where Matt spent the weekend with friends at an old cabin…

Chestnuts roasted by Muppet Baby @ 07/17/2006 11:52 AM

Best Blog – Photog Definitely
Best Article – Fireball Island

I actually peed a little when I read Fireball Island. I played the hell out of that game, and besides Legend of the Hidden Temple, I have never seen better use of a scary Jungle Idol. That’s so Bitner has been used as a catchphrase by me EVER since. When I find a new catchphrase I don’t get rid of the old one. You will hear me say anything from far-out to Cowabunga at a moments notice. Isn’t that just totally gnarly…Word to your mutha
