Happy 4th of July, all. I’ve barely heard any fireworks today. Guess everyone blew their stock over the course of the weekend. Krauts. I’m down to a smoke bomb and a sparkler, and I just totally remembered right now that this is one of those rare days of the year where several channels run marathons of shows that are only good in marathon form. I’ll make this quick.

A month, nine pages and 56,000 words bring X-E’s Disney World Adventure to its conclusion. Part 3 has been posted, covering luaus, blinking drinks, roller coasters and giant bees. Hope you’ve enjoyed the series; I’m definitely ready to get back to doing some more “normal” X-E articles, starting next weekend.

Good feature here, touched on a lot of things that makes the experience what it is. But being the Disney expert I am, I did have to point out two things:
1) Cinderella’s castle doesn’t have a cafe in the cellar. There is no cellar. The Magic Kingdom is actually on the second floor of the complex. Under the castle is the Ultilidor, a maze of passage ways that are used for employee costuming, garbage disposal, stocking the restaurants, and also how those characters get from place to place without being seen or sweating to death.
But the castle does have a full service restaurant on the 2nd floor, Cinderella’s Royal Table, where the most saught after character dinign experience is held: Cinderalla’s breakfast. It has a 90 booking window, and if you don’t call in at 7:00 AM eastern time on the 80’s day from when you plan to be there, you won’t get in.
2) Tower of Terror is not the tallest structure on Disney property. It’s the third tallest behind Expedition Everest (which is half a foot taller) and Spaceship Earth, whose wand makes it the tallest structure on property at over 180 feet.
Just nitpicks really. Otherwise, excellent work, and some great pics, particularly of the castle.
Might I suggest you go back in January, when it’s less crowded, and they’ll be holding the new Pirates and Princesses Party. Everyone dresses like Pirates or Princesses, they get to stay in the MK after everyone else leaves and stay till midnight, and they search the park with “treasure maps” looking for “gold” (ie candy.) And of course, all the best rides are open as well.
Plus the tickets are only 38 bucks compared to 67 for a one day pass.
