Paprika is okay, in limited contexts. However, added to any dish that is supposed to be savory, Lowery’s season salt is like the mighty fist of a vengeful yet delicious God in your mouth.
It’s the Super Mario Bros. Super Show Box Set DVD. Just in time for valentines day!
I know it’s off topic, but Matt, I knew you’d get a kick out of this.

I’m quite fond of Mrs. Dash.

Is it wrong that Stacy R.’s contention that she loves to write, couched in a post of that quality, made me want to cry?
Just curious.
Also, besides seasoning salt for general use, Lawry’s Chicken Seasoning is the best.
Chestnuts roasted by ZiZak @ 01/26/2006 10:02 AM
For those of you who love spicy things, Lawry’s makes a Tabasco seasoned salt as well. It’s really good (not too hot or I wouldn’t be able to eat it.) I’ve only ever seen it on the Tabasco website. By the way, if you love Tabasco and have never visited the Tabasco Country Store (countrystore.tabsco.com), you’re missing out. My husband LOVES Tabasco, so I get him stuff all the time. For Christmas, I got him three bottles of the new Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Flavor that I believe is currently only available on the website. (Well, obviously, that’s not all I got him.) Plus, I always give him a bunch of those miniature bottles in his stocking. That’s because if he doesn’t have them, he’ll seriously lug his full-size bottle anywhere he anticipates wanting to use Tabasco (restaurants, friends’ dinner parties…it can get embarrassing.) Anyway, just a tip for pepper sauce fans.

Oooh I went to the Lawry’s Prime Rib in Beverly Hills for a friend’s bday recently…Most expensive place I think I’ve ever been, but the food! Incredible.
Lizzy, it’s still unconfirmed but the rumor is that Dom M. and Evangeline L. (Charlie and Kate) have gotten engaged in real life.

My favorite spice is that stuff that turns your eyes blue and allows you to fold space with your mind.

Nice random Dune reference, kingklash.

Don’t worry, ZiZak…I too was struck nearly blind by Stacy’s post. As someone who writes and edits for a living, it made me rather nauseous. Though I felt better when I thought of the laugh it must have given Matt. Snerk. I’m getting mean in my old age.
Chestnuts roasted by Nicole @ 01/26/2006 12:29 PM
Thanks for the support, Nicole. I’m glad I wasn’t alone in my reaction. I neither write nor edit professionally, but do believe in proper communication. That post was just a little far out for me, even by the relaxed standards of an internet blog.
Furthering the spice topic: I cannot stand Chinese 5-spice powder. The anise in it just makes everything taste like licorice. At lease, I think it’s the anise. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Saffron is the most expensive food by weight on earth. It is derived from crushing the stamens of a particular species of crocus. The cultivation and processing of up to 100,000 flowers is required to produce one pound of saffron. It has been used as paint pigment, a fabulously expensive flavoring, and a spurious cure for the Black Death.
And now you know.

My fav spice mix is the Louisiana staple: Tony Cachere! It’s great on burgers, chicken, steak… the flavor is just delicious. Hard to get outside of LA though, I have relatives that will ship me that + more of the obscure Zatarain’s mixes like Creole Chicken.
Chestnuts roasted by Kittycatgirl @ 01/26/2006 1:58 PM
I like pepper because it’s married to the salt.
Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 01/26/2006 2:20 PM
oh…I thought the spice thing was a joke. But I’m so glad it’s not. Jedoc, you’re my hero.
I’m caught between cinnamon and rosemary. I love the scent of cinnamon and cinnamon buns are my reason to live, but I can’t say no to some rosemary potatoes action.
squee – did you love the Driveshaft diaper commercial last night?
Chestnuts roasted by Lizzy @ 01/26/2006 2:26 PM
I’m Pennsylvania Dutch, we don’t typically eat spice. Taco powder is about as fancy as I get. I hate spicy food.
mtrox – It’s actually a good, consumable soda filled with 47g of sugar. Hate to site-whore, but I did a brief review last night for anyone curious.
I, for one, liked Stacy’s post. It reminded me of the way I used to type on BBSes back when pogs were actually popular. As for finding pogs, Goodwills and old comic book shops are a good place to find them by the bucketfull.
Sazon and Adobo. I can pretty much eat anything that has Sazon and/or Adobo on it. Even a hat…..
Cinnamon gives me a headache. I absolutely cannot stand anything that even remotely tastes or smells like it.

I’m becoming addicted to those new McCormick’s Spice Grinders, especially the pizza ones.
You know what I found to be funny? On PBS, they have a kids show called "Between the Lions." that teaches kids how to read and sound words. You know who’s a cast member on it? Famous Sex Therapist Dr. Ruth. They changed her name to Wordheimer due to the nature of the show. I just found that funny.

I still have my pogs, they’re packed away somewhere. The card shop we use to by them from would sell one of those large zip-lock bags filled half-way with pogs for like 25 bucks. My brother and I both bought a bag with christmas money, we were in pog heaven.
Chestnuts roasted by Geoffinsanity @ 01/26/2006 3:54 PM
I, too, still have my Pogs. Good memories. I can probably look at them and still tell stories about how I won some of them.
I have all of my pogs in a zip-lock bag in the basement. I never really learned to play, I just got them because of the pretty pictures. And whats up with all the hateing on Stacy R. and Stacy R. threatening people. This is a blog of love.
Chestnuts roasted by Darth Poop @ 01/26/2006 4:10 PM
Well, ZiZak, I wouldn’t exactly say I’m professional…I write and edit online copy for a few big retail stores. I was recently switched over to the Software and Games team, so I get to write and read about video games all day. Yay! Except that I’ve been editing for several weeks now and still haven’t been officially offered an editing position, which would entail more money. Booo.
I had quite a few pogs in my day as well. I believe I found all mine at the dollar store. In fact, I still have a black one that features purple lips and vampire fangs. Somewhere. I just saw it while packing.
Stacy R., I’m sorry if I offend, but netspeak makes my brain bleed. It’s not you, it’s me.
As to the spice debate: I’ve always been partial to Baby Spice.
Chestnuts roasted by Nicole @ 01/26/2006 4:16 PM
Nicole, I know you apologized but it took me a while to write this and ZiZak, for shame. This is the internet and that is internet speak. I to dislike it when people type like that but X-Entertainment has a very diverse fan following and we should let everyone go nuts. Now I know that I should be the one to talk but when you outright insult someone’s post like that it aint cool. I enjoy every post and for you to disgruntle people from posting, that’s just sick. And ZiZak, don’t break people’s fingers.
