kentdog- It made me laugh. A little blurry though but we really need to think of the children anyway. I don’t know what that last sentence is supposed to mean.

Darth Poop It smells like Pooh? Is this magical Christmas tree farm deep in the Hundred Acre Woods?

Chestnuts roasted by Mystie @ 01/14/2006 10:21 PM

Mystie- I’m tired and I don’t know how to respond so I’m going to bed. As we say here in Michigan, may the great one slap you silly.

god damn it, I watch the Jetsons like once a month and it always ends up being the same episode, the one where they get Rosie.

Dude! I go to a local anime convention and what do I see? A Mario Plushy from Japan. My heart did a power jump, my fingers shot fireballs, and my clothes were flashing the minute I picked up the thing. I took it up to the dude selling it. And guess what? The fucker wanted 25 bucks for the damned thing! Sweet Mother of Fucker Jesus Holy and Shit! There were people selling other plushies of the same size for 10-15 bucks! I love Mario and all, but I could NOT justify 25 for a plushy of him. I mean, it’s not like the thing actually did give me all of Mario’s powers Now 25 bucks for a copy of one of those rare NES adult games on the other hand…

Dear God, just last week I was thinking about that movie, "the Peanut Butter solution". I couldn’t remember the name of it yet I remembered how odd it was. Thanks for the flashback Mike, I’m off to amazon for the search.

Chestnuts roasted by bloodybrilliantme @ 01/14/2006 11:25 PM

Was the peanut butter solution a full length movie…

In my memory for some reason I thought the peanut butter solution was an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

it was a long time ago afterall

SNIKT!

I didn’t see Peanut Butter Solution, but I did finally see Chronicles of Narnia. Effects and direction were up to snuff, but I had the same problems with the film as I did with the book. The religious allusions/allegory is so blatant that it hits the reader/viewer over the head. I prefer my stuff to be more vague. I didn’t want to see a film version of the Bible with talking animals.

Chestnuts roasted by mtrox @ 01/15/2006 12:42 PM

Yeah it was a full movie. Are you Afraid of the Dark rocked, though. I bought every episode on ebay but still havent finished em- there’s like 90,000. My eyes also ran across Eerie Indiana: The Complete Series at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago. It was only 23.99 which is really fair. The episodes thus far have been really sweet.

I should probably mention that I remember the Peanut Butter Solution. I really loved the Asian kid (I had lotsa Asian friends myself, so I could relate). Anyway, it was my Mom’s decision to rent it for us. She regretted it.

Anyway, I’m off to the pub.

Referencing the Peanut Butter Solution is pure SNT genius.

One of my elementary school teachers MADE us watch it.

Any idea when they’re putting out the rest of the He-Man series on DVD? I must.. have.. more.. Battle Cat!

Chestnuts roasted by Review the World @ 01/15/2006 2:07 AM

whenever you’re at the anime convention (or mexican marketplace) never pay full price!!

and adult nes are easily downloaded although 8 bit porn isn’t really all that enticing..

Spending 2-3 hours playing diablo II After I bought both the game and the Lod expansion.. woo killer level 11 assassin <3

Chestnuts roasted by DashiKun @ 01/15/2006 4:27 AM

Man. I haven’t played Diablo II in years. Almost makes me want to find the disc and load up a new Paladin. Nothing relieves stress like hitting someone several times a second with a sword which crackling with lightning.

Besides Burnout, of course.

I spent all last night watching an entire disk of Lost…man, that was awesome.

About the Chronicles of Narnia – it was written to *be* a blatant religious allegory, but the director wasn’t a religious guy, so I doubt he was thinking about that when he made it. Then again, I’m a Christian so it doesn’t really bother me that much. What bothered me was that horrible centaur, his acting was atrocious.

Chestnuts roasted by Jessica Marie @ 01/15/2006 8:44 AM

Jessica Marie: I know Lewis wrote it as a blatant allegory. My Jesus-freak sister has books dedicated to the guy. As far as being a piece of literature, though…bleh.

Chestnuts roasted by mtrox @ 01/15/2006 10:17 AM

The one Satuday night I go out. I remember the Peanut butter movie. It always freaked me out though. I was into Purple People Eater at that same time I think. Doogie Howser ruled.
I’m writing the following now cause I don’t think it will ever apply to a topical XE thread:
I am so stoked for American Idol this week. I am such a closet fan, and not just about the funny sucky people at the beginning of the season. I have not voted ever, but mabye I should. I don’t have to face any of you all so I can say it freely here. OK, that’s all.

Chestnuts roasted by kb @ 01/15/2006 10:46 AM

"Stop all the downloadin’! Help computer."- Mutt

Review the World- I don’t know when they’re putting out the rest of He-Man but I need more now man. Stop it! Stop the voices in my head! I need He-Man now! Oh god, I’m so cold.

Chestnuts roasted by Darth Poop @ 01/15/2006 10:46 AM

I’ve never even HEARD of The Peanut Butter Solution. :/

Chestnuts roasted by Ryane @ 01/15/2006 11:16 AM

To me, The Peanut Butter Solution sounds like something from the seventies. Perhaps a music group consisting of 5 or 6 black guys with high voices and afros who sing various love songs. Hey this could work. Millions I tells ya, millions.

Chestnuts roasted by Darth Poop @ 01/15/2006 11:45 AM

Actually, kb, I recall Matt once mentioning being an AI watcher. I’ve never been able to get into it myself but I do wait for every new episode of Project Runway like it’s my next fix so I can understand the appeal.
Narnia: I didn’t notice as a kid, but if I made it all the way to The Last Battle I’m sure I would have picked up on it. Now my enjoyment comes from the Christian slant cause I’m a sucker for allegory and religious imagery (Carnivale, why hast though forsaken me?). Currently reading a Lewis memoir about his conversion from an athiest…it’s really weird and dated but definitely interesting. The Narnia movie was terrible though. I thought the kids playing Lucy and especially Edmund did admirably, but the movie just had no heart at all. I’m the type to tear up at the drop of a hat (definitely during Kong *sniff*) and Narnia left me totally cold. Tilda Swinton was perfect perfect perfect and the CGI on Aslan looked pretty nice, but even the FX didn’t impress me that much.
(Jessica Marie, welcome to the Lost fanatic fold. If you’re not caught up with season 2 yet be vewy careful out there in spoiler riddled intenet land).

Chestnuts roasted by squee4242 @ 01/15/2006 12:58 PM

I remember watching the Peanut Butter Solution on tv. Very weird, I also remember watching another movie like that, but it was about the kids getting these "grandma & grandpa" robots and then they kids are old and the robots are the same age as the "kids". I don’t remember much else. Pretty weird?

Anybody remember a show called "Brain Games"? It used to come on in between shows on HBO back in the 80s. My grandmom has a tape of it that my sis and I would watch when we were over.

Another thing does anybody remember the HBO theme song they used to play before the 8:00 movie?

Brain Games is now *sob* over…

Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to meeeee… I’m 28 today!
