12/24/2005: Christmas Eve, 2005.
Merry Christmas to all. I’ve gotta go stuff mushrooms and drizzle liquid death over rapidly heating Chex Mix. Thanks for being a part of X-E’s nearly-finished 2005 Christmas celebration. May Santa bring you all the best.

4th post!! I mean um ‘ahem’ Merry Christmas! I am going to eat pizza w/ my family later and the aunt that won’t be at my christmas is coming tonight. Sweet. Nothing like greasy fingers opening presents.

My celebration technically already started last night at my great aunt’s big family Christmas party. She met my boyfriend for the first time and everybody got along great (my aunt even said my boyfriend is cute!).
I’m a little sad because the boyfriend just took off to go visit his parents. He’s only 20 minutes away, and he’ll be home this evening, and I’m used to being away from him for long days while he’s at work, so I actually have no idea why I’m sad. I guess Christmas is making me a little emotional.
On the upside, we seem to have more presents under the tree this year than any previous year, so I’m pretty excited about that.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

I’ve got a bit of a party in a few hours….and I’ll be catching the Xmas marathon on ABC Family that starts at 6!
Click my name to go to this year’s NORAD Santa Tracker site!
Matt, this might be the nog talkin, but all I know is, this gold tells me that this was the best Advent ever!
I had Snu-Snu…
Although my schedule is just too busy normally to allow me to post, I thought I would give a quick Merry Christmas (that’s right, Christmas) to everybody who probably enjoyed the advent calendar as much as I.
And I have to say Matt, based on the story arc, you’ve turned into a bit of a Romantic. Hmmm…does your lady know of this?
You know, it only happened because LEGO gave me the bar/glasses set.
Also, good to hear from you, Sean! Speaking of my lady, she still asks me to ask "that guy from the blog" whenever our fish act up.

May heaven embrace their plastic souls to the halls where the gods of Lego and Playmobile dance and laugh together while plotting the next year calendars daring each other to see who can get an advent with toys even less conected to the christmass topic.
Best advent ever, matt! Cheers for that! Happy holidays everyone…

Matt.
I’m 15. I’ve been reading X-E for almost four years. I can remember reading your articles in computer class in sixth grade. Every year you make this site special for Christmas. X-E is now a HUGE part of my Christmas, and I hope it stays that way.
The thing is, this year feels different.
I don’t know what it is. Christmas feels so dull this year. It snuck up on me, and I can’t believe it.
I’ve seen the presents under the tree, the lights on so many lawns, the colors and bows on the cereal boxes, and the Charlie Brown Christmas specials. But still, it feels so unlike Christmas.
I still love Christmas, and the spirit of it. I love seeing the huge mall Santa displays, seeing the snow and the lights in Boston, when I go, and the look on my little brother’s face on Christmas morning. It’s amazing.
I was so afraid that you wouldn’t pull through this year with the Christmassy spirit. You’ve told us all about how busy you are, and that scares me. I don’t want you to move on, to forget about the site. Yet, you did pull through. It’s not as fancy as years past, but as time allows, it’s great.
I don’t know why it feels like this this year. The political correctness has gotten me a bit depressed this winter. The big annual Christmas tree in Boston is being called a "Holiday tree" from now on, and face it, what other holiday has a damned fir tree? And it’s not a matter of IF they’re going to re-name Christmas Crunch, it’s a matter of WHEN. This generation is falling prey to a mixture of PC idiocy and corporate greed.
And Christmas still means so much to me, and always will. I know you’ll understand, Matt. I know you will.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone on the blog, from New Jersey to the North Pole and everywhere over, under, and in between. I’m over my parents’ house for Christmas, as always. Just finished watching "Robots" with my 13-year-old brother. Cute flick; the plot’s hardly original, but the voice cast features Robin Williams, Ewan MacGregor, and Halle Berry, among others.
Matt, I understand you couldn’t do what you usually do with the blog, and that’s reasonable. You’re a busy man. As Tom No Like said, even when people are arguing over the real meanings of the holidays and whose holiday is it, anyway, and you still manage to have some Yultide spirit and enjoy the season…because that’s the REAL meaning of the holidays, all of them. Give, share, reflect, and have fun doing it.

Sir Matthew: Great job on the advent/advert calendars this year! May the Christmas motif stay up well through August 2006, sir!
It’s definitely been an X-E sort of Christmas. I sent the link to the site to a few friends this year (again) and one of the checked it out and BECAUsE OF X-E sent me a pair of COAL CARS for Christmas! I got and ambulance and the always awesoem MOBILE LIGHT CAR, which i guess is a big truck that has a big yellow plastic thingy thing that’s supposed to by some 10,000 watt bulbs for outdoor rock shows. The plastic coal is awesome. I will put it to good use (weed container).
Wasted off vodka red bulls at my parents house on Christmas Rockin’ Eve checking out the X-E advent calendar. It doesn’t get any sweeter than this.

Well, my Christmas has been a hit so far, and I haven’t opened a single present. I really enjoyed my Christmas Eve celebration at my grandparents’ house. I mentioned in an earlier blog post that I had to arrange that to happen this year since my cousins decided we should do our family present opening on Tuesday so their precious children didn’t have to miss it, and more or less cancelled the Christmas Eve thing.
It was actually really nice having it be all adults this year, we didn’t have to watch what we said. Plus, this year I hadn’t spent the week before with my Mom and Dad (since I live here in the same state again), so I wasn’t driven nuts already by my dad, and I actually enjoyed having him there for the first time in a long time.
It was just me, my parents, my grandparents, my sister and her boyfriend, my boyfriend, and later in the night, my dad’s sister. There were a couple times through the evening that I laughed so hard I was crying, something I really needed.
The only lowlight of the night was having my crazy aunt there. I’m vaguely worried that I’m going to end up like her because I’m not having any kids either. But, when I think back on it, she’s been like that as long as I can remember, so I think I would have to be well on my way to nuts already.

I had a Nice Decemberween myself.
Usually there’s a theme to my Christmases like "Power Ranger Xmas", "TMNT Xmas", "Transformer Xmas" (lots of them). This years theme seemed to be "I smell." I got Three kinds of Body Spray! BOD man, a sample bottle of AXE, and a Poker Gift Pack of TAG.
On the plus side, main highlights include transformers…which I bought, $50 in gift certificates to Target, Simpsons Season 7 (Marge Head!) and the Garfield Holiday Celebrations DVD! Watched all 3 eps earlier and I’ve only seen the Christmas one, and a LONG time ago at that. It was sweet but I thought that the Halloween one was the best of the 3.
I hope the Advent & Adverts end on a great note! (I haven’t checked the main blog page yet)

And a late Merry Christmas to everyone from me, also! I had a weird day. I feel like a cold is on me, but it hasn’t gone full blown, yet. It’s just made me tired and cranky and I slept from 9pm-2am, so that’s why I’m late.
Matt, can you tell me which Lego set(s) Knacks and Kuse came from? I’m just curious, because everytime I put out the Lego Star Wars at work, I never ever see either of them. There’s a couple that look similar, but they just aren’t exact.
Has everyone see the Slave1 Lego set??
That thing is sweet … of course, it comes with a little Boba Fett, and possibly the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time — Han in the carbonite! hehe! I’m almost willing to shell out the 50 bucks just for that

It sucks to be back at work and feel like Christmas is over. No more Christmas music on the radio. Back to the oldies, and I cant say I missed "My Baby Does the Hanky-Panky" very much. And I want to watch Matt’s Nick commercial sooo bad, but cant at work.
All you young’uns on break for the next week or month, please make the most of it. All I have to look forward to this week is paying property taxes.
At least I still have the 25th on the advent to string me along…take your time, Matt, dear, because it’s all I have left!

You know, as long as I’ve been coming to X-E I somehow continually missed the Advent Calendar. But I am in agreement with everyone else, it was highly amusing. Are there any pictures of the whole set? It’d be neat to see "where the magic happens" so to speak.
Mare and Kuse getting drunk and finding public places to hide and screw in reminds me so much of when I first met my boyfriend! I guess Mare can’t resist a man in uniform, either. But for some reason I find myself relating more to Mrs Clause, though I can’t quite put my finger on why…

Just thought you guys should know that after all the fuss I made I ended up not buying a DS but rather 4 video games for Gamecube, 1 accessory, 1 cd and 1 dvd. I based this decision off of something Matt once said about getting a lot of small toys being better than 1 big one, which I fully agree I just couldn’t fully convince myself looking at those beautiful double screens. I can’t find the article were you said it Matt but i’m sure it was you.. or Tom Brokaw, same thing.

As far as Pooh Corner, yeah, I tend to remember stuff no one else does. I’ve been met with as many blank stares as there are grains of sugar in a Pixy Stix. The big kind.

yeah, i should just comment on YOUR site, but this is so much easier.
thanks to you, mystie, i cant get the dumbo’s flying circus song out of my head. i didnt even realize it was still in there. so fucked up.
i think the reason you get so many blank stares is a) people are looking at your cleavage and b) most as young as you dont remember some of the shit you have on your site. i mean, i’m 30, and i was young when that stuff was on.

I’m not sure how I feel about the advent..it seems rather anticlimatic but then again it has the happy christmas movie feel good ending.
