12/24/2005: Christmas Eve, 2005.

Merry Christmas to all. I’ve gotta go stuff mushrooms and drizzle liquid death over rapidly heating Chex Mix. Thanks for being a part of X-E’s nearly-finished 2005 Christmas celebration. May Santa bring you all the best.

Mars–I predict some kind of unexpected, tragic Mare death.

Merry Christmas everyone. Thanks for the season, Matt. This has been the first Christmas in years that I’ve actually felt Christmassy inside.

Hmph. Up first and I can’t open presents til mom gets home from work, anyway. Eh, I’ll read the Advent Calendar again in the meantime….

We’re having a water emergency this Christmas on account of the old tannery being Gutted with fire. Course my retarded father is up splashing about in the kitchen and bathroom. I guess the conservation doesn’t apply to him. @_@

Anyway, I watched A Christmas Story like 3 times yesterday. I’m so glad that now I can also watch it in 30-seconds and re-enacted by bunnies!

Well, like I said before, Matt, you actually got me into the Christmas spirit this year, and I am extremely grateful.

Even tho your site seems to be all into commercialism, it isn’t really – its about being a kid. :) And that’s a good thing to be reminded of at any time of the year IMO. :)

Well, my Christmas has been a hit so far, and I haven’t opened a single present. I really enjoyed my Christmas Eve celebration at my grandparents’ house. I mentioned in an earlier blog post that I had to arrange that to happen this year since my cousins decided we should do our family present opening on Tuesday so their precious children didn’t have to miss it, and more or less cancelled the Christmas Eve thing.

It was actually really nice having it be all adults this year, we didn’t have to watch what we said. Plus, this year I hadn’t spent the week before with my Mom and Dad (since I live here in the same state again), so I wasn’t driven nuts already by my dad, and I actually enjoyed having him there for the first time in a long time.

It was just me, my parents, my grandparents, my sister and her boyfriend, my boyfriend, and later in the night, my dad’s sister. There were a couple times through the evening that I laughed so hard I was crying, something I really needed.

The only lowlight of the night was having my crazy aunt there. I’m vaguely worried that I’m going to end up like her because I’m not having any kids either. But, when I think back on it, she’s been like that as long as I can remember, so I think I would have to be well on my way to nuts already.

Christmas Rocks! I got the Calvin and Hobbes Collection. Yea!!!!
Thanks for all the entertainment this year. The advert calendar has definitely been something to look forward to each night after work. It has brought a little Christmas spirit to an otherwise dull Louisiana holiday season. You rock!!!

Merry Christmas Matt! Thanks for making sure the holidays stay fun!

Although I have been a bastard and not posted in a while I still wish everyone in x-e land merry x-mas and a happy new year.

I guess I will wait a while before posting my list of ‘what I got’ for Xmas. Can’t wait to see Matt’s haul of toys this year!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and as I have said before, thanks to Matt and the XE blog for making it special.

Merry Christmas to all!

I think I have only posted once or twice in the years I have enjoyed this site, but I decided to post again today in the hope everybody had a great Christmas. Once again Matt you filled our season with cheer and my wife and I thank you for that.

Hope everybody has a great New Year and as always, we look forward to when Matt brings a past memory alive in a way only he can do.

-D

Everyone take their xmas money and and buy Battlestar Galactica: Seasons 1 and 2 (Part 1). I’ve burned through like 12 episodes so far…it’s so good.

I’ve got the funds for a DS!!! and a real problem, now that I have the money I can’t help but think of all the many smaller things I could have. Decisions Decisions.

Thank you for everything Matt.

Missed the Flinstones Christmas Carol on Boomerang :(

I had a Nice Decemberween myself.

Usually there’s a theme to my Christmases like "Power Ranger Xmas", "TMNT Xmas", "Transformer Xmas" (lots of them). This years theme seemed to be "I smell." I got Three kinds of Body Spray! BOD man, a sample bottle of AXE, and a Poker Gift Pack of TAG.

On the plus side, main highlights include transformers…which I bought, $50 in gift certificates to Target, Simpsons Season 7 (Marge Head!) and the Garfield Holiday Celebrations DVD! Watched all 3 eps earlier and I’ve only seen the Christmas one, and a LONG time ago at that. It was sweet but I thought that the Halloween one was the best of the 3.

I hope the Advent & Adverts end on a great note! (I haven’t checked the main blog page yet)

And a late Merry Christmas to everyone from me, also! I had a weird day. I feel like a cold is on me, but it hasn’t gone full blown, yet. It’s just made me tired and cranky and I slept from 9pm-2am, so that’s why I’m late.

Matt, can you tell me which Lego set(s) Knacks and Kuse came from? I’m just curious, because everytime I put out the Lego Star Wars at work, I never ever see either of them. There’s a couple that look similar, but they just aren’t exact.

Has everyone see the Slave1 Lego set?? :D That thing is sweet … of course, it comes with a little Boba Fett, and possibly the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time — Han in the carbonite! hehe! I’m almost willing to shell out the 50 bucks just for that :)

I’ll save my list for the Christmas fallout thread that we all know is coming, but let’s just say I had a NICE Christmas. The boyfriend and the mom both treated me reaaal good this year.

I’m about to go pick up a friend and venture to the malls to hit up the post-Christmas discounts. Wish me luck!

Ghosted by jazzy @ 12/26/2005 9:47 AM EST

Hoping everyone had the Merriest of Merry Christmases.

And having said that…

LET THE POST-HOLIDAY DEPRESSION BEGIN!!!

Ghosted by Rhino @ 12/26/2005 9:47 AM EST

No post-holiday depression for me this year… because Santa brought me my very own playmobile advent calendar. So now I can relive the adventures of our favorite friends any time I want!

In all seriousness though, hope everyone is having some time to enjoy themselves, spend time with loved ones, and eat a LOT of leftovers.

One more thing: I received a Jones Holiday pack from a cousin… we had a taste-test with my whole family. I’ve never seen so many lose their appetites after some soda. It was too great for words.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Merry day after, knuckleheads! Hope every body had a fabulous, crabulous Xmas. Hit the usual spots, got good gifts, ate good food. Now, let’s have a blog-page party!

Ghosted by kingklash @ 12/26/2005 11:59 AM EST

Merry late Christmas everybody! I want to thank everyone here, especially Matt, for making this an incredibly fun season. I would have posted this last night, but my wireless router went haywire while it was uploading to the page. Now bring on New Year’s and some (hopefully) spectacular parties!

Ghosted by Bludge @ 12/26/2005 1:03 PM EST

It sucks to be back at work and feel like Christmas is over. No more Christmas music on the radio. Back to the oldies, and I cant say I missed "My Baby Does the Hanky-Panky" very much. And I want to watch Matt’s Nick commercial sooo bad, but cant at work.

All you young’uns on break for the next week or month, please make the most of it. All I have to look forward to this week is paying property taxes.

At least I still have the 25th on the advent to string me along…take your time, Matt, dear, because it’s all I have left!

Ghosted by schroeder @ 12/26/2005 2:21 PM EST

You know, as long as I’ve been coming to X-E I somehow continually missed the Advent Calendar. But I am in agreement with everyone else, it was highly amusing. Are there any pictures of the whole set? It’d be neat to see "where the magic happens" so to speak.
Mare and Kuse getting drunk and finding public places to hide and screw in reminds me so much of when I first met my boyfriend! I guess Mare can’t resist a man in uniform, either. But for some reason I find myself relating more to Mrs Clause, though I can’t quite put my finger on why

It’s the very similar eyes Mystie.

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 12/26/2005 2:37 PM EST

Ah, you’re right! Knew it was something.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 12/26/2005 2:39 PM EST

Boo yah. OK, so my Christmas wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. I got some cool presents and good money. I also got to see my cousins again. Ate sum good food. Didn’t drink any good drink though (my bro and I are the only ones in our family who drink; my grandma says it’s the devil’s water). Oh well, there’s still New Year’s Eve. And cosnidering the money that I got, I think I’m gonna take a little trip (viva Las Vegas?).

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the conclusion to the advent calendar. Later, guys.

Ghosted by Nate @ 12/26/2005 3:26 PM EST

Just thought you guys should know that after all the fuss I made I ended up not buying a DS but rather 4 video games for Gamecube, 1 accessory, 1 cd and 1 dvd. I based this decision off of something Matt once said about getting a lot of small toys being better than 1 big one, which I fully agree I just couldn’t fully convince myself looking at those beautiful double screens. I can’t find the article were you said it Matt but i’m sure it was you.. or Tom Brokaw, same thing.

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 12/26/2005 4:07 PM EST

wow, mystie! (your blog, not your boobs…um, ok, maybe a little of both).

i totally forgot pooh corner existed until i popped over to your site. i was pretty much only allowed to watch the disney channel when i was little. like way back when it first came out. back when there was still real disney stuff on it.

so, thanks for the pooh corner review. i forgot how creepy that show really was.

Ghosted by schroeder @ 12/26/2005 4:23 PM EST

I’ll also say thanks for that Pooh Corner review, and point out how suspiciously photoshopped that cleavage line looks.

Ghosted by Mars @ 12/26/2005 4:38 PM EST

‘Shopped or not, it’s Christmas Cleavage, so it’s magical nonetheless. Thank you Mystie, may gravity be kind to you and yours.

Ghosted by kingklash @ 12/26/2005 5:14 PM EST

I see how it is. You think because I’m blonde I’ll fall for this trick. I’m not posting any more boob photos to defend myself. If I could photoshop for shit, I would have done a lot better on the occasional Fark contests I enter. As it is, I only work in Fireworks anymore.

As far as Pooh Corner, yeah, I tend to remember stuff no one else does. I’ve been met with as many blank stares as there are grains of sugar in a Pixy Stix. The big kind.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 12/26/2005 5:45 PM EST

yeah, i should just comment on YOUR site, but this is so much easier.

thanks to you, mystie, i cant get the dumbo’s flying circus song out of my head. i didnt even realize it was still in there. so fucked up.

i think the reason you get so many blank stares is a) people are looking at your cleavage and b) most as young as you dont remember some of the shit you have on your site. i mean, i’m 30, and i was young when that stuff was on.

Ghosted by schroeder @ 12/26/2005 6:01 PM EST

I’m not sure how I feel about the advent..it seems rather anticlimatic but then again it has the happy christmas movie feel good ending. I could almost hear the cheesy musical score as Knacks got asked to ride in the sleigh. So I guess that makes it good. Still next year we need mare to return to her roots a little more.
