My dying wish is for an owl/camel hybrid, which I call camowl.

Over the ground, there’s a blah blah of white…

God, I've been so busy that I haven't even been able to officially welcome everyone to X-E's 2005 Christmas Season Extravabloganza, starring Knacks and Kuse and a ton of old holiday commercials. The light at the end of my own personal tunnel is the fact that I get to use up all my vacaca days during the last half of December. That is, unless they suddenly decide that I'm so valuable that even a week out of the office would be enough to crumble Viacom. Let's hope not, because Jesus, they're really treating us this year with the amount of Christmas specials airing on television and I'm getting pretty sick of missing them. Granted, it's happening mostly on cable, but a channel is a channel and so long as those channels are part of my cable plan, I've got a reason to plow through giant cartons of red and green Goldfish crackers in single TV sittings.

The Advent Calendar has been updated for Monday, and shit's really starting to heat up. You must believe me when I say that your guess is as good as mine -- I have no idea where this thing's headed. The Advert Calendar celebrates Christmas the only way it knows how -- with an old commercial featuring Santa Claus doing a pitch for Mattel's handheld electronic games, oh hell yes. While we are still tweaking the 2005 version of the Christmas Jukebox, there's no harm in satiating your Yuletide music appetite with last year's. Thank you Chairy. Here's a breakdown of what we've got so far...

Advent Calendar, 2005
December 1: Knacks and Kuse accept a job offer from Santa Claus.
December 2: A mysterious elf extends a mysterious invitation.
December 3: Knacks and Kuse visit Santa's house.
December 4: An ancient evil rears its ugly squiddy head.
December 5: Wouldn't you like to know.

It's worth noting that you'll have a lot less trouble making sense of this year's Advent Calendar if you read the features from 2003 and 2004.

Advert Calendar, 2005
December 1: The original Post Pebbles Christmas ad.
December 2: Have yourself a merry little Milkbone.
December 3: Suzanne Somers and Santa, BFF.
December 4: You don't just eat, you Underoos.
December 5: Football helmet? What's a football helmet?

It snowed last night. Big, nice snow, too. Yay.

Picked this up a few weeks ago. It still hasn't lost its appeal. Apparently, "Projector Pops" have been around for a while, and they've been popular enough to warrant new holiday-themed editions, including this, the evil infrared death snowman. Works like dees: The top half is a very fruit-scented lollipop, but the bottom half includes this tiiiiiny little window that -- at the push of a button -- shoots sweet Christmas sights on any wall or ceiling. Works in the day, works better at night. Best part is how the lollipop portion lights up all evil like, letting you dine on candy that feels closer to an energon cube.

Survey: What's the one thing you want most for Christmas/whatever this year, and don't be poetic. In related news, I'm whoring it up with my Amazon wishlist.

Baltimore is pretty bleh. :( I miss NY. Anyway, Matt I totally hear you about the Underroos commerical. I felt the same way with the Rub-A-Dub Doggie commerical you posted a while back… just felt wrong or something. The world sure did go and get twisted. :( Anyone from the Baltimore area know anything good to do with your time? I’m here for a week.

Speaking of classic Christmas commercials, does anyone know how old the Campbell’s Soup melting snowman ad is cause it’s been playing for years. Just caught it this afternoon. Awesome.

Hey RAS,

Do you like the new packaging for the Simpsons or the older style?

Personally, I like the older style and bought the the dvd case that Fox made for the Sixth Season.

Bought my 2pack Godzilla today YAY :)

Another christmas classic commercial, does anyone else live in PA? If so, how about the PA lottery commercial? They been using the same commercial for, it has to be more than 10 years. The one with the old guy giving scratch-offs to all the different people.

I just want to get laid.

You and me both, Matt.

What I really want:

-Seinfeld Season 4
-Seinfeld Seasons 5/6 Giftset
-MST3K: The Essentials
-Simpsons Season 7
-Photoshop CS
-Eternal Life
-ATHF Vol 4
-Family Guy vol 3
The following Cybertron Transformers:
-Mudflap
-Sideways
-Scourge
-Jetfire
-Evac
-Red Alert (both versions)
-G1 Soundwave (already have a Megatron & Jetfire)

I know I’m getting the new HESS Truck, I gor it every year since ’88 or so from my grandma. Also, I picked up the latest Toyfare and found a pic of a figure for Primus, the robot form of planet Cybertron. Kickass.

Materially? I’d say five hundred bucks in cash would about cover my needs. I’ve already got just about everything material I need…just need to pay off some debts.

But what I REALLY want for Christmas? A new job. The one I’ve got is driving me insane.

MISTA SNOWMAN’S BACK! Finally!

Chestnuts roasted by ROBRAM89 @ 12/05/2005 4:32 PM

Along the same lines as everyone else, I really just want some DVDs and CDs for Christmas…I’ve been setting up a wish list on bestbuy.com by pretty much viewing every single screen to see what’s out there. Not that I’ll end up getting even .1% of what I’d like…

The new Korn comes out tomorrow-not sure I’ll be able to wait for that one.

And I guess a Victoria’s Secret gift card wouldnt kill me either.

Lori-

If/when you get your new car stereo, make sure it is installed IMMEDIATELY. I got a really sweet one for Christmas last year, and it was just finally installed last month. (my man was capable, just never had the ‘time’) At least I got it in time to ask for better speakers this Christmas.

I just want to get laid.

I don’t remember that in the Wish Book. :P I hear ya tho… I hear ya.

Chestnuts roasted by Double G @ 12/05/2005 5:05 PM

Invader – That Primus is sweet as hell. I can’t wait for him to come out so I can have him kick the crap out of Unicron.

I can’t believe Mista Snowman is back! This is going to be the best X-E Christmas yet.

Ha ha….Knacks sux…

Jackie, I stuck with the head and will stick with the rest of the heads. I ran out of room on my dvd shelf awhile ago so they are just stacked up anyways. plus it’s homer.

Chestnuts roasted by RAS @ 12/05/2005 5:30 PM

Not sure if anyone already talked about this but, about the snowman projector pop…I have a Batman projector pop. I BASICALLY HAVE A BAT SIGNAL. I AM GOD!

Chestnuts roasted by Another Batfan @ 12/05/2005 5:31 PM

WRESTLEMANIA BOX SET- ALL of ‘em- with EXTRAS. Man, that’s one gift that would keep me occupied beyond Xmas day.

Also, box sets of ‘Garfield and Friends’, ‘Degrassi Junior High’ and ‘Fraggle Rock’ would be just swell.

I laughed out loud when I saw that box of cats- well done, Matt, well done.

Chestnuts roasted by Muppet Baby @ 12/05/2005 5:40 PM

Hey all you people wanting video games- as a GameStop employee, I can safely say that systems WILL NOT go down in price after the holidays. Sucks I know…

I am getting an SP and a massage chair. That’s all I want.

Chestnuts roasted by ANdrew @ 12/05/2005 6:08 PM

Yeah, I have Fraggle Rock on my ‘real’ list. It just doesn’t sound as cool as Lightsabers and Master Swords.

Another dose of Terror from my Claws to you.

Just watched Miracle on 34th Street (1947), Old skool! Holla holla! Anyway, awesome as always and as usual. Good stuff for Christmasy cheer, and proof we’ve worried about over commercialism since the FORTIES!

PS- Matt, for those of us wanting to play at home, what toys is Waiterbot made of? Specifically the head? Spanks!

The Trailer Park boys christmas special, for all you unenlightened americans, trailer park boys is the greatest thing to come out of Canada since back bacon

Chestnuts roasted by Diarrhea Dave @ 12/05/2005 6:22 PM

Well, I got my iPod Nano already, because my mom thought the store would be sold out of them come Christmas. Needless to say, it has been a GREAT gift.

I also want Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix for Game Cube, but I doubt I’ll get it. I would be disappointed, b/c I already got what I absolutely wanted.

Chestnuts roasted by Allison @ 12/05/2005 7:07 PM

Mandy, was it the Best Buy in Brick, New Jersey? Damn how cool is that?!

Matt, the boyfriend and I are really into He-Man right now. the He Man and She-Ra Christmas DVD was shipped today from Amazon, which means it will be in my possession by tomorrow night. Then, it goes to the boyfriend, which is his pre-Christmas novelty gift from me. Once again, did everyone order theirs?

Chestnuts roasted by Allison @ 12/05/2005 7:16 PM

I also want my DH to have Christmas day off but we wont know if he works it or not till the night before, I guess thats the price he pays for having his dream job on the railroad.

Norbert–your link is to your "private" wishlist. I think you need to find a public link. (I know because I clicked yours and it took me to my Wishlist).
