X-Entertainment loves Christmas and will not stop talking about it, ever.

A 2 A.

As you can see, we're gearing up for this year's Advent & Advert Calendar features. (Thanks to Brian for working on the design, even though he's a miserable Kraut and I hate hate hate him.) For those who don't know, I LOVE CHRISTMAS and intend to ostracize everyone who doesn't celebrate it by writing about it over and over and over again, or until I get drained in late December. This year, we're doing things a little bit differently. Okay, I admit it: We're doing things more simply, because I want to make sure I don't overextend myself and hit a point where you come here and find NO CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!

In other words, for X-E's 2005 Christmas season, I've decided to keep everything located here, on the blorgh. The decision was pretty easy, since the holidays have become a busy and generally good time for the blog -- lots of lurkers come out of the virtual woodwork to contribute, and because of all of the many wonderful holiday-themed items I seem to pick up by the minute, there are usually more new posts during December than during any other month on the site. So, let's make this place one big ol' month-long holiday bash!

The blog will be homebase for this year's Advent and Advert Calendars, and if you don't know what those are, I guess you haven't been reading the site very long.

Oh it will be a mare-y Christmas indeed. Time to break out the South Park Christmas CD. Mr. Garrison’s song has got to be my favorite Christmas song of all time.

Yay, the Advent and Advert calendars!

The Christmas season has truly arrived.

With ANY holiday X-E is the one-stop entertainment site!

Bravo, Matt! :)

Chridmuss Tahm (as the cool kids like to call it… or just me and maybe two other people) is not complete without the Advent/Advert calendars. I’m not just saying that either. It should be a requirement in schools and churches to get "Mare-y" with it.

Yep, I’ve been lurking for too long. I mean, I’ve posted here plenty of times before but not for a long time. So I’ll jump back on the wagon for this special time of year. One thing I remember about last year was being late to class and late to work because I was having so much fun with the calendars. True story! But it didn’t matter…I got my boss and some teachers hooked on it too!
Merry calendar time to one and all!

I look forward to the calendar with great anticipation! By the way, has anyone else noticed that the bear on the coca-cola cans looks as though he is relieving himself? Just a christmas observation!

Like many others I can’t wait for the calendar. I can’t wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. . .sorry.

Also, yesterday I went to best buy ( the crappy one, with small aisles, not the nice one with the huge aisles), and I picked up Disney’s holiday classic Vol. 9, with pluto’s tree and mickey’s christmas carol. Also, for 2 for 20 I picked up, its a wonderful life and Christmas vacation.

Thanks, Matt. I just got back from the worst Thanksgiving on record, including thrilling elements such as severe illness, moving my sister into her new house despite said severe illness, having some of my sister’s furniture blow off the trailer, worrying myself even sicker over grad school and finding a new apartment and having absolutely no money and a shaky job sitution, being bitten by a dog, taking care of another dog who was, himself, pretty tore up by a third dog, and generally getting my first-ever taste of the infamous "holiday depression." Oh, and also, yesterday we got to spend an hour with the coolest snowfall I’ve ever seen, with big wet flakes. When we got home? Seventy fuggin degrees. So I was bah-humbuggin with the worst of ‘em last night.

But then this morning, I crawl grudgingly out of bed, brew the first cup of coffee I’ve had in a week (my parents switched to decaf some time ago, and don’t even keep any real stuff in their house) and fired up the computer for the first taste of Internet I’ve had in a week, and what do I find? A parade review and the intriguing framework of the new advent calendars. Blam. Syringe of holiday cheer straight to the heart, complete with decisive downward stabbing motion. So now I’ve fired up my Transiberian CD, put on my cozy green-and-red holiday socks, cranked up the AC so I can pretend it’s seasonal outside, and am making a list for my Christmas shopping foray, scheduled for later this morning.

So thank you for saving Christmas, Matt. Rock rock on. Giles.

Don’t know if you’re interested, Matt, but a friend of mine has an original copy of a Muppet Christmas special from way back in the 80′s. I’m not sure to what year, but it’s loaded with all the commercials and everything. This muppet special is where all the muppets, sesame street, and fraggle rock characters get together at Fozzy’s grandmothers house. It’s pretty good stuff. I can get you a copy if you’d like.

So Matt, is this the year you finally take me up on a free Kinder Chocolate Kalendar sent to your door in exchange for a review of it?

Semper Fi,
Erik Majorwitz

Okay that’s enough now! Why is everything today leading me back to Kinder Chocolate!?

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 11/28/2005 10:12 AM

Who wouldn’t want a free Kinder Chocolate Kalendar?!

Chestnuts roasted by Rosella @ 11/28/2005 10:56 AM

Holy spoodles, Kinder Kalendars are amazing

weeeeeeee here it comes again…A Mare’y Christmas is all I want!!!

Now I even love more the message that "Today on X-E: Christmas is dead, forever"…That’s such a cute statement once you see the xmas spree going on inside the blog…

Just one question:

Shoot, I forgot it.

Um…yeah. Christmas rules?

Chestnuts roasted by Warx @ 11/28/2005 11:25 AM

*uncontrollable bouncing* YAY! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I am so terribly, terribly excited to see the calendars up there. I really freakin’ need to get my damn computer fixed.

Is it bad that it’s not even December yet and I have over half my Christmas shopping done? I’ve done everything so far online this year, a first for me. I’m seriously considering doing it all online, so I can save all that mall-crawling energy for the after-Christmas sales to stock up for next year at the new apt.

The boyfriend comes up for our Christmas celebration this weekend…it’s the only weekend in Dec. he could get off work. So I totally score probably the only good presents I’ll get this year almost a month early. Woot.

I would just like to state up front that I have been a long-time X-Eer. It’s just, I’ve always avoided the blog discussions (because I thought such things were stupid). Now that I have seen the error of my ways, my wife accused me of being addicted to X-E. Matt, I can only blame you for this. Curse your awesomeness!!!

P.S. The calendars are back and all is right with the world.

A bit of a bright light after the bad news we got this morning. Little Brother and Wife were in the process of adopting a baby, and now, the mother decided, literally at the last minute, to keep her. But, they have a room all set up, so who knows? There might be another kid who needs parents and a grouchy old cat to look after it. Meanwhile, I’ll just drown those bad vibes in some hot chocolate. And anticipation for the calendar twins, ‘Vent and ‘Vert.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 11/28/2005 12:53 PM

I can eat the anticipation with a spoon.
Yum.

Yay! Christmas!

Whoever said it earlier (too lazy to find the post) – I have most of my Christmas shopping done too, online shopping is great. Some things I am waiting on though, since I’m away at college and want to see my friends and family in order to assess what to get them. My sister is so hard to shop for…

I went looking for the Playmobil and/or Lego Advent Calendars last weekend, couldn’t find either. Friggin’ central California, I can’t wait for my last two weeks here to be over.
