I just finished my outline for my third speech (in my speech class), and now I’m off to study for my two huge tests on Monday. Boo! Some Saturday night… I wish I was here with you talking about classic Nickelodeon. Awesome- this is why you’re my people. My copy of Pete and Pete 2 arrived yesterday, and it’s calling my name, but I just don’t have the time yet. I really can’t wait for future DVD releases, for the stuff I like even MORE. So good. :D

I miss Snick. Thank goodness I taped so damn much of it. Bwahahaha! Most of my Saturday was spent working at the Arcade trying to whore all the leftover Halloween toys at the ticket counter. The rest of the weekend will be spent working on important stuff like Nanowrimo and other bad things no one will read.

I’m still waiting for the You Can’t Do that on TV DVDs…. :(

Legends of the Hidden Temple was always my favorite show on nick. Click my name for a reveiw of the show on pop arena.com

Ah Nick. I used to love Nickelodeon. I loved Salute Your Shorts, Hidden Temple, Wild and Crazy Kids, early All That, and Clarissa Explains it All. I had a crush on Melissa Joan Hart for a long time and still do. :)

I just ate ‘The Batman’ cereal. Exactly like Oreo O’s but bat shaped cereal bits. Probably see a review for it here in a few years. Haha.

Wish I was here last night. Work. Boo.

No crazy things at my grocery store where I work. Halloween night we put up Christmas candy that’s it.

Can’t wait for December for those advent calendars. One of the things that make it easier going through the winter month.

Later.

Matt- I finally escaped the little man from the draft board! I just thought that you would like to know that. I think we all know of my battles with the little man from the draft board and now the world can breath a sigh of releif. WAIT! No it can’t be! The little man from the draft board! But who was it that I pushed off the train in Dayr az Zawr! A gun! No! Stop! Ahhh!

Ok, who else just realized that Matt’s tagline for this thread "It’s SNT…delicious!" was a reference to the old Alpha-Bits jingle?

Invader Norbert: That’s the exact SNICK line-up that rocked my world back in tha day also! Ahhh, old school Nick- anything better? I remember the happy day I finally went to Florida and SAW Nickelodeon Studios- I almost cried when I saw the slime fountain.

"Legends of the Hidden Temple" STILL comes on regularly in Korea! I loved watching it when I was over there.

legends of the hidden temple, guts and double dare are still on a channel called "GAS". i dont know what it stands for. i get it on digital cable in philly. did anyone get the new ducktales dvd?

Chestnuts roasted by pdac @ 11/06/2005 8:02 PM

I want that Duck Tales DVD! That show is funnier now than it was back when I was four, now that I understand economics and what a capitalist pig Scrooge is. I mean,he swims in money!

Chestnuts roasted by Suren @ 11/06/2005 8:20 PM

Anyone else watch Simpsons Treehouse of horror number… this year’s?

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 11/06/2005 8:32 PM

Yeah, I’m definately looking forward to the "Ducktails" and "Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers" sets. I don’t know if they’d do any extras, but it would be worth it for just for the memories.

Speaking of memories, I made a great find at the grocery store where I work today – I found the video for "Christmas at Sesame Street." You want to talk about taking you back. The tape was released in 1987 (according to the box), but I think the special may be a little older (Mr. Hooper is in it and very much alive). If you can find it, I recommend it. It’s really sweet, has some hilarious segments (like Bert and Ernie doing a charming "Gift of the Magi"-esque present exchange), and they even let Oscar sing "I Hate Christmas."

Matt, your review on the halloween soda is listed on jones’ website, you probably knew that. Still, pretty cool.

Chestnuts roasted by kb @ 11/06/2005 9:33 PM

Yes. I have the green vhs tape Christmas Eve on Sesame Street too, and it’s becoma a tradition for me to watch it on Christmas Eve. It’s Awesome. I love the beginning when they do the slingshot on iceskates and Oscar gets whipped through the wall and down the stairs! Then Cookie Monster keeps trying to contact santa, but eats all his writing utensils and telephone. Fuck yea.

Chestnuts roasted by Mattman @ 11/06/2005 9:34 PM

GAS = Games And Sports. I had the option of getting that channel with a bunch of crappy channels instead of more movie channels when I first got our digital cable. I’m not sure if I made the right choice….

Chestnuts roasted by Gozer @ 11/06/2005 9:38 PM

Saturday morning cartoons are gone as we know it!! remember when the networks produced their own programming?! Now, CBS borrows from Nickelodeon/Nick Jr., ABC borrows from Disney/Playhouse Disney, and NBC…well, NBC gave up in the early ’90s. They don’t even have cartoons anymore. Fox is the only one that still produces their own stuff, besides the lesser networks (WB and UPN).

You know you’re getting older when stuff like this really bothers you.
