Holy crap, I almost made the first one. Damn that Mountain Dew article. Oh well. In other news, I’ll be here all fucking day since I’m stuck at work until 11. That’s in the PM. EST. Etc.
That game(?) looks cute, too bad I will most likely never play it. I went with the PSP instead of the DS. Love the PSP but it would be nice if they put out some GAMES FOR IT INSTEAD OF PUMPING OUT MOVIES! Deep breath….relax.:)

I was just lloking for something good to do on Halloween and then I began to wonder if Paramount Canada’s Wonderland was gonna do anything good this year. And then I found this: http://canadas-wonderland.com/fearfest/index.cfm
It looks simply amazing. Any other Canucks planning on going?

Oh shit, I meant to get this in on the last one. Has anyone seen that Stewie Griffin DVD? I just watched it last night – it’s hilarious. And while we’re at it, and since it’s the season, has anyone seen that Russian horror movie that came out last year, Night Watch? It’s out on DVD now. Pretty cool.
The Family Guy movie was good, best part was David Bowie at the beginning. Now I will stop spoiling. I went to Canadas Wonderland for Halloween a few years ago when I lived in Brampton, it was quite awesome. Would love to go again if I had tons of cash to buy a plane ticket!

I’ve been meaning to go to Paramount for awhile just for the Italian Job ride.. Maybe I can make it there for Halloween?
I think that they have most rides running but i have to double check. I know the main ones (Top Gun, The Mighty Canadian Minebuster, etc) are certainly running.

Matt – do you get to test a product before working on its commercial?
Both were really good. I especially love the dog scooting his ass across the floor. I had to replay that part just to make sure I saw it right.
Ghosted by Carri @ 09/24/2005 12:31 PM EDT
The pug dragging his butt across the floor in #2 is a riot!
Ghosted by Z-Man @ 09/24/2005 12:50 PM EDT
Time for a pun. The ass-dragging pug was a bone of contention during this project. I’m glad he was able to stay.

Matt, I know you’re not a pro wrestling fan, but I really you should get ahold of WCW’s old "Halloween Havoc" PPV’s they used to do. They did "scary" matches like "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal" and the infamous "Chambers of Horrors" match. Plus, the old Dungeon of Doom angle is wrestlecrap classic.
Also, WCW-wise, Chucky the Doll made an appearence on Nitro taunting Rick Steiner for some reason.
Also, the Undertaker alone deserves an entry. Great theme music, plus he occaisionally does "scary" matches like casket matches, buried Alive matches, Hell in the Cell, plus an inferno match with his "brother" Kane.
Nintendogs seems like a high-tech version of those Digipets that were briefly popular a few years ago.

I have these cards in a box some where from the early 90’s that have pro athletes dressed up for Halloween on them. Some of the costumes are pretty stupid looking and since I’ve never really been into sports I have no idea who any of the guys are. Does anyone have any clue what I’m talking about.
And those commercials are great Matt. Pug= awesome:)

Is this game even worth the money?
Ghosted by Gene @ 09/24/2005 1:34 PM EDT
Matt, Nintendo should have come to you first instead of them releasing those two god-awful Nintendogs commercials with the 12 year old kids. "Play on playas." *shudder*
JLA — I AM a wrestling fan! Though not much of one as of late. I actually did buy some old Havoc matches…but they turned out to be PAL format. Thanks for reminding me, though — there were two in particular I wanted to cover in Oct.
Ghosted by Matt @ 09/24/2005 2:02 PM EDT
Okay…so these commercials sound sweet…God my boss needs to walk away long enough for me to watch them.
Nice new commercials. They do have the same sort of feel as the Furby spot. You should have embezzled some of the project’s money though and produced an X-E commercial. I liked the car-driving dog too (and of course the pug….)
I actually got a DS and Nintendogs earlier this week. I was never too into virtual pets before (no Tomagoshi or whatever) but it’s a pretty great game. I give it my seal of approval.

Linkies no workie. I suckie.

I think your ads just sold me on nintendogs, btw. Can you really interact with other dogs? That’s so -cool-.
Nintendogs is a cool idea but definitely something that looks like it would get boring after a while. I besides the fact I don’t think I’d shell out the money for a DS anyways. Both Nintendo and Sony and their licensees aren’t doing much to support the systems and most likely will die shortly. There is just too much of a market for home consoles rather than a hand held system that probably demolishes batteries. Now don’t take this as a dis on the systems themselves for they seem capable of playing cool games i just think they will suffer a demise similar to that of the Dreamcast. Dreamcast in my opinion was one of the best systems made with really good games but the system was marketed horribly and died. On top of that it can run lots of fun emulators!!! Definitely worth the $15 price tag i see it selling for at used game shops around here…

I was referring to the PSP when i mention Sony in my last comment. Just so people don’t think i’m brain dead…
Ghosted by phunqsauce @ 09/24/2005 2:45 PM EDT
Sony and THEIR licensees aren’t supporting PSP,but I have to disagree with you on DS.
Wario Ware Touched,Nintendogs, whatever the Kirby game is called,Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, whatever the surgery game is called,Advance Wars Double Strike,Pac Pix,Trackball Pac-Man,Bubble Bobble DS,Atari Retro Classics,Yoshi Touch And Go,the Princess Peach side scroller…………….
I won’t go on,but there’s a whole bunch of good games out/coming out.
Plus I’m pretty sure it charges like a cell phone,so no batteries.
Plus there’s a ton of good GBA games it can play.

Those were Coca-Cola’s "Monsters of the Gridiron" trading cards I believe Darth Poop is talking about. I’ve got six from ‘94. I think that was the last year they had them. I haven’t see any since. Worth it to see Cornelius Bennet made up as a weird bear-werewolf thing.
Hmmmm…. X-E inspired virtual pets. I like the sound of that.
Ghosted by kingklash @ 09/24/2005 3:05 PM EDT
I am sickened by the "ass-dragging pug" in your otherwise nice commerical, Matt. A groomer friend explained to me a few months back how she has to relieve dogs with that problem of the pressure on a regular basis; think rubber glove scene from Fletch.

Dogs let you put Halloween costumes on them. Cats do not.
Ghosted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 09/24/2005 3:51 PM EDT
Ummm, I just saw Catwoman, and that is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen, and not in the good bad way, either. It sucked.
Ghosted by kidneyboy @ 09/24/2005 3:56 PM EDT
Matt’s cat Lenox LOVES wearing costumes as we discovered in last year’s Halloween countdown. By the way how is Lenox doing Matt?
This has nothing to do with anything other than the fact that I spotted our old friend Spidey-Bum in Times Square yesterday. And not just one Spidey-Bum. Oh no. This time, there were TWO of them. They’re multiplying.
Ghosted by Pirate7L @ 09/24/2005 4:21 PM EDT
Pirate: Yeah, and now we’ve got the Naked Cowgirl a block away from the Naked Cowboy. It’s getting out of control.

Holy crap finally he left. And yes, those commercials are great. That pug needs a series. Matt, if this were Myspace, I’d give you the maximum amount of kudos possible. Two. That’s it.
Okay, I’m sorry – I keep forgetting things that I’d meant to say. But this idea came to me last weekend, and I was just reminded of it again today – are any of you on Myspace? We should all be "friends." Click on my name for my page!
By saying, "they’re mine" Does that mean you wrote, or did all the producing as well? Either way, I am jealous of your job(s)
Ghosted by kb @ 09/24/2005 4:50 PM EDT
Wrote/produced/loved.
Ghosted by Matt @ 09/24/2005 4:53 PM EDT
Cool Matt. Can’t wait for Oct. RD at Wrestlecrap also does his annual Halloween edition in Oct.
What exactly does a producer do here though? Direct? Make the graphics? Pick the tip?

Just got back from picking apples at the local orchard and took a side trip to pick up some jones soda and was gonna send you a pic because I thought I was going to be the 1st to see it! Guess I should have read my blog faster. Thanks for all the halloween ideas! At wal-mart here in ohio we have the popcorn balls you have for 3.94 for 20! So I bought 4 boxes to give out and target had full size candy bars for the kids in a pack @ .25 cents per bar! They are going to by way excited! I am looking for the gummie bears you had an artical about but can’t find them anywhere does anyone have any good ideas? And one last thing Matt have you ever thought of going to cedar point? There halloweekends are the best! They have to walk through fright zones that are out of this world and I think 4 or 5 good haunted houses not including all rides are open and they have creepy music through the whole park and they change all the food to include hot made to order caramel apples, popcorn balls, hot chocolate and more! If you can check it out here http://halloweekends.cedarpoint.com/
Are we going to see anymore pet costumes this year? Or did your cats declare war on you?

Hey Matt forgot something else too! I found carvable decorative pumpkins. They are like a foam core material and look like a real pumpkin and last forever and you can carve them like a real pumpkin without all the slime and mess and no animals or bugs can eat them! And no little bastards can ruin them and you can light them up too. If you want a pic let me know Im carving one right now!
i have a psp so i’m a bit biased but man i gotta say they have some tite stuff comin out.. i actually like burnout legends more than burnout 3 on ps2 cuz it mixes up the gameplay more, but still has some of part 3’s content.. tony hawk, hot shots golf, need for speed, fired up, darkstalkers are all good releases.
but what will really set it off for me is grand theft auto, socom and infected comin out this fall.. sorry i’m hi as fuck.
oh and those commercials were tite man! your talents work well for marketing.
hey kneg, check out the imdb movie of the day! awwwWWWW YEAH!!

Ever think in twenty years these commercials will be a part of some (currently seven year old) kid’s website on nostalgia?

Happy Saturday thread to all.
Kyle, your idea is interesting, but in general I try to avoid Myspace like the plague that it is If anyone is on LJ I’m hip to a friending exchange…in fact the few LiveJournal "friends" that I have that I don’t actually know IRL have been mostly met through this blog here
I consider myself a Friend of Squee.
Speaking of HALLOWEEN HAVOC, yesterday was a big school spirit day. Click the name to and check out the last picture entitled "Who’s the Manimal???" and guess which one is me AND explain your answer.
HAPPY SATURDAY!!
I love Nintendogs! But why does Nickelodeon require their own Nintendog commercials?
Ghosted by Anne Packrat @ 09/24/2005 7:54 PM EDT
Manimal,
I will go ahead and guess that you’re the one on the left – because, seriously, The Manimal must be married. It would be ridiculous to think that he hasn’t been snatched up yet. However, the one on the right has an "x" on his chest – for x-entertainment? Possibly just a trick of the light. I don’t know. I’ll stick with the one on the left.
