Saturday Thread, Duh.

I've only got a quick sec before a friend stops by to help me with a computer hardware issue in exchange for free Japanese food, SO HERE'S YER SATURDAY THREAD! All day, all night, all right.

Our official movie of the night: A Nightmare on Elm Street: Part II, airing on Encore at 10:35 PM. (And for others, at different times, and for others, at no time at all. Buy the damn DVD.) The Monday after next marks the start of X-E's 2005 Halloween Countdown - yay!

Edit: It's Sunday. Keep posting.

Watched GHOULIES I and II this morning thanks to the double feature from Netflix. I think the sequel was better (which is rare as we all know).
Getting into the HALLOWEEN spirit myself. Bought some cheap whatnots at the Dollar Store yesterday and watched TREEHOUSE OF HORROR 2 and 3 earlier this week.
I like how on the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET collector’s DVD it states that part 2 is essentially (albeit unintentionally) a metaphor for homosexuality. Once one thinks of the movie in those terms, it makes a lot more sense. Watch it and you will see it. Either that or you can wonder why everything bursts into flames in that movie (???).

Right now, I’m so tired, I’m not thinking of what I’m doing tomorrow, much less next month. I’m trying to find a job doing something I enjoy more and gives me steadier hours than working in a grocery store in a town that people think only exists in the summer. The grocery store I currently work at is going to be torn down in about three weeks. Yes, it does need to be replaced and it’s supposed to be done in May, but it’s going to be a pain transferring to an off-island store (I can’t afford a car) and trying to haul all my groceries home on my bike or the bus this winter. If I’m going to leave this store, I might as well get out all together. I’m just having a hard time finding a job as a writer or an editor or a receptionist or a secretary – seems people have friends and reletives to do those jobs.

Yup, part 2 is homosexual as can be – but in a hilarious way – a must see if you haven’t seen it.

I never really thought about it like that. Though I did notice how the X-Men movies were pretty much a big homosexual reference. I mean in X2 where Iceman "comes out" to his parents.

Sooo gay.

I’m too old for Halloween as evidenced by the fact that my costumes were getting lazier and lazeir. The last time I went trick-or-treating me and my friend drew goatees on with brown marker and went as our evil twins.

I don’t get Encore, but Dirty Dancing just started, and Uncle buck too! Crappy Cable.

When I was like 4 or 5 I had a dream that the Incredible Hulk picked up my house, laid down and put it on his stomach then waited for us to walk outside so he could grab us. I probably should have skipped watching that show.

Chestnuts roasted by kb @ 09/03/2005 9:28 PM

Probably. I do find it weird that I find Lou Ferrigno more frightening than the CG Hulk from the movie, which I did really really like. Also, the Return of the Incredible Hulk is the greatest movie ever. I mean, come on, THOR was in it!

Hmmmm, just checking in and I guess it’s going to be a sleeper tonight.
MATT and whoever else, I forgot to mention that I found a 1990 DICK TRACY magnetic facial hair toy at the local Dollar Store. It is from 1990 and is Disney authorized and everything. Not bad for a dollar but the original asking price was 2.19. No wonder it took 15 years to sell. I also got the Halloween stuff. Are you guys familiar with the toy MUTANT FREAKS? Looks like good stuff. If you want to see pics (for whatever reason), click the name.

Manimal – Great Dick Tracy find! My all time favorite merchandise was the official Dick Tracy badge.

Did we make a Nightmare 2 timeslot mistake?

Chestnuts roasted by Carri @ 09/03/2005 11:22 PM

For me it’s on at 11:35

As in starting right now.

Also, I always liked the watch. Everyone had the Dick Tracy watch though.

Chestnuts roasted by AJ @ 09/03/2005 11:36 PM

It’s on now for me too.

Chestnuts roasted by Carri @ 09/03/2005 11:38 PM

Dammit. I’m actually doing stuff for once and miss an attempt to have a Bill & Ted discussion. I am seriously disappointed with myself. Again, happy belated B-day to the man himself. Kyle, you cannot call yourself a Bill & Ted fan without having seen Bogus Journey.

STATION!

See, if you’d seen it you would have totally got that. The box set’s first printings apparently had a phone sex number mixed into the box art. For once, already owning something has cost me. I could have had one of those fine pieces of rare Keanu merchandise. But no, I’ve owned B & T for years and haven’t bought it yet. Grrr.

I recall Keanu saying he was willing to do 3. Trilogy here we come. Not like Alex is doing anything. Wait, he’s doing a biopic on somebody, right?

Chestnuts roasted by Knegative @ 09/03/2005 11:46 PM

And Keanu and Alex Winter do still talk about it. The plan is to wait til they are both 50ish and do "old Bill and Ted"

And yes, I so own the box set. Haven’t found that phone sex number, though.

So how about that random rake for no reason in Freddy’s basement?

Chestnuts roasted by AJ @ 09/03/2005 11:50 PM

Was it the Napster dude? Help me out AJ. You seem like the Alex devotee. And I’m too lazy to check imdb right now :P

Chestnuts roasted by Knegative @ 09/03/2005 11:51 PM

I can’t remember, all I know is it is called The Best Man, and that made me happy. Because Alex, is, indeed, the best man.

Chestnuts roasted by AJ @ 09/03/2005 11:54 PM

Oh yeah, he IS also doing the Napster Bio-pic too. Wow. that’s TWO projects. Thank you IMDB.

Chestnuts roasted by AJ @ 09/03/2005 11:59 PM

I love how the record melts on Jesse’s nightstand but the cassette tapes don’t. That just show’s the pure 80s power of the cassette once again triumphing over vinyl.

Chestnuts roasted by Carri @ 09/04/2005 12:00 PM

In the spirit of comraderie, I’m going to let that one slide :D But you know what I want to say. I own Hardball, Little Buddha, and Johnny Mnemonic. Hardcore!!!

Chestnuts roasted by Knegative @ 09/04/2005 12:01 PM

Yeah, but he’s writing that. Way to not read.

Chestnuts roasted by theed @ 09/04/2005 12:01 PM

oh maybe I shouldn’t have unwrapped that damn glove!!

Chestnuts roasted by kidneyboy @ 09/04/2005 12:01 PM

Well of course, Carri, I mean how can vinyl match the sheer awesomeness of casette power? It’s funny though that in just a few more years there’d be CDs. And yes, you are the most hardcore Keanu fan ever.

Oh and theed, you are write. Winter writes the Napster biopic and STARS in a movie called The Best Man. Hardcore.

I need to learn to not be impatient and click the post 3243243 times.

Chestnuts roasted by AJ @ 09/04/2005 12:03 PM

I think Dick Tracy and Bill & Ted should be on our movie of the month lists.
