Wal-Mart Receipt.

Those of you who read my "I'm bored" post on Saturday night know that we were...well, bored. And what better way for a true socialite to cure boredom than find any still-open store in the area to blow money on completely worthless crap? I've still been sporadically trying to gather a complete collection of the Revenge of the Sith action figures, and for that effort, at least I found a Destroyer Droid. The last one in the store. I shared the aisle with two other guys also too old to be there but shameless all the same, and they pretty much followed me around for an hour waiting to see if I decided against the purchase. Sorry suckers. Still haven't seen a single damn Royal Guard in stores since the line debuted. I refuse to buy one from a dealer on eBay or elsewhere -- I refuse to believe that there will never be a red Royal Guard in a store I have access to. Life is too easy for it to be that hard. The search continues. No real point to this post, I just wanted to archive my stupid Wal-Mart receipt for posterity's sake.

Don’t worry Matt,if I could find a red Royal Guard,so will you. It’s a pretty cool figure,with the armor from the Crimson Empire comic series underneth the robe.

I just realized I haven’t commented on the evils of Wal-Mart and why you should never ever go back there again but I’m sure you’ve all heard the arguments already.

The red royal guard does in fact exist. On the day the figures were released the KB toys I went to had two of them, I picked up one initially. Then as the day wore on I didn’t see any of them anywhere so I went back and picked up the second, so I’d have one loose and one in the package. The head sculpt is different from the blue guard so it is a seperate figure, although the body’s are identical.

I hate to gloat but this guy is definatly worth ebay (provided the price isn’t outrageous). The royal guards have the armor underneath instead of the old school plastic robe. And they have a holster for their blaster pistol. By and far I’d say he’s the best figure of the ROTS line.

It also bares mention that anytime I’m anywhere that sells toys I look for them and to date I still haven’t seen any since the day of release, and only in that one KB toys.

Late night Wal-Mart and late night Denny’s are equally as hilarious/creepy….Taco Bell finishes close but falls short because it is not 24 hours..

I hid a wookie warrior behind a ton of batman begins figures a couple of weeks ago and was reminded of that while reading this blog. I hope they make the wookie boats and helicopters.

I’m avoiding Ebay as well. I heard they’ll be shipping more royal guards in a few months, so be patient and you shall be rewarded. Don’t ever give in to scalpers. They are evil…

No Red Royal Guard today… We have like 15 cases in the stockroom – all the same figurines. :T But yeah, they are supposedly going to be shipping new ones soon, so hopefully we will get more of a variety.

There is a red royal guard in the new collector set coming out at KBtoys. Unfortunately you have to get 8 other figures you probably already have. I really want a red royal guard.

I couldnt help but notice the location of the store on the receipt. I used to live in Woodbridge (a long time ago though–I’ve been a shore girl since 1985!).

By the way, the CBS-3 Philly internship is going great. You see those anchors? I KNOW THEM!!!!!! I know I sound like Buddy the Elf, but that’s ok. It could be worse…

I saw about 10 red royal guards today without exaggeration. They were $8.98 Canadian. Zellers is sweet.
