My dying wish is for an owl/camel hybrid, which I call camowl.

You saw the House. Now meet the Store.

Almost didn't beat the clock to get this one up before the weekend ends, but here it is -- an almost-sequel to the House article, it's....The Store! Yes, on the way home from the House, we met the Store. The Store is also known as "Gizmos & Gadgets," and it's got everything. Just a step above a thrift shop, it's the place that gave me WWF loot bags, Dinosaurs Attack! cards and a black licorice pipe that I completely forgot to mention in the article. Go check out the goods! Envy the crap I have no place for! Make outrageous monetary offers!

I’d like to see some pics of a party that makes use of all this wonderful crap.

How about a birthday party for Skeletor.

Matt, I really have to thank you for reminding me of Dinosaurs Attack! cards. My brother had a couple back in the day, and I used to sneek peeks at em’ and thought it was cool because of the gore. Now, years later, I read this article, then immediatly googled up a page with all the cards scanned and damn, they are pretty fucking gory.

Chestnuts roasted by Black Zarak @ 05/03/2005 1:48 AM

I’ve been to that store. Wish I bought some stuff but for some reason didn’t feel like it at the time. I caught on my way back of from the Jersey shore. Matt’s right about 97 percent junk and it looks like he just scored the extra 3 percent. I love the fact you made it to that place Matt. small freakin world

whoa sorry about the multiple posts. The store’s not actually in Delhi. It’s in morris. I think that’s the name of the town. A town which also has a covered bridge

Chestnuts roasted by Alexius @ 05/03/2005 8:13 AM

Do an article on the dino cards…I think I speak for most of us that we want to see them all

Chestnuts roasted by thejyav @ 05/03/2005 8:39 AM

Wow, so many comments this soon.

This article has pictures of WWF wrestlers, Mario and TMNT. Everything a guy could want.

The best thing about the store? The straw doll outside the front window (cf 1st picture).

"MR. GAME & WATCH"

Sun worship was anything but "another upstart religion’s worship of the sun god". Sun worship (specifically, worship of the Ancient Egyptian Sun God Ra) had been around since at least 2400 BC. Not really what I’d call an "upstart" affair. LOL

Sorry for the religion-related comment everyone!

I wonder if the Store has a Monkey’s Paw for sale?

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 05/03/2005 11:42 AM

Matt should have taken a picture of both rooms. i think in the second room there was a display case with half a stearing wheel or something. none the less the place is awesome. I wish every town had recycle shops like these.

Iforgot to mention that I had a dog in the 80′s named Koko B. Ware.

I actually have a VHS copy of the Incredible Shrinking Turtles. And the other episodes where they need to get the crystals to bring back some guys spaceship or something. I don’t remember it all that well.

Woo! License to Drive and, even better, TURK 182 are coming to DVD! Oh how I have waited for Turk 182. Matt, you probably get tired of people asking you to review their suggested movies so I’m not going to do that. Except I kind of just did. Damn I’m good.

Chestnuts roasted by jhnnywalkr @ 05/03/2005 3:42 PM

As with alot of people on here, I also remember the Dino Attacks cards (though vaguely) It’s one of those images I saw when I was younger that became permantly etched in my mind (that and the cover of Iron Maidens Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son album)….anyhow! Who doesn’t love goin to stores like that. I remember about a year or so ago I was downtown with my parents and went into a store that had a shitload of old movies, comics, cds…u name it! But moving on…I know I’ve posted this before…but I’m gonna ask again. Does anyone remember these cards from late 80′s early 90′s They were stickers I remember, and they were of real products…but the names were like a gross or disturbing version of the products. the mirror on my dresser used to be covered with them…but cannot remember for the life of me what the hell they were called? Does anyone remember?

Chestnuts roasted by Jabo @ 05/03/2005 3:48 PM

Nope, fraid not. Maybe if you could remember a more specific example? Sounds like something from the GPKs era.

Chestnuts roasted by jhnnywalkr @ 05/03/2005 3:51 PM

Wacky Packages, no?

Chestnuts roasted by Matt @ 05/03/2005 3:56 PM

I agree with Wacky Packages also. They’re making a comeback. They’re were some free inserts of them in some comic books a few months ago. Pretty cool.

Jhnnywalkr: Haim was interviewed about License to Drive in Entertainment Weekly. Batman’s on the cover.

Chestnuts roasted by JLAJRC @ 05/03/2005 4:28 PM

Looks like Wacky Packages it is.
http://www.wackypackages.org/
JLAJRC: Cool, thanks! I’ll see if I can check that out. I’m always interested in whatever inane thing either Corey has to say. Although I must admit, I missed the 20/20 interview with the Feldman about MJ. What I’m really waiting for though, is the Turk 182. I’ve convinced myself I’m one of the few people on the face of this earth that remember it and desperately want to see it again. It’s practically impossible to find in a video store. I’ve found VHS copies on E-Bay, but I’ve been holding out for a DVD. I figured it must come someday.
