Something like this you hate to admit but;

Avril Lavigne, don’t know the name of the song, but when ever it’s on, I don’t change the station.

Ninja Rap by Vanilla Ice. I remember every single word, that’s how much power the turtles had on my fragile 8 year old mind.

Ghosted by Kevin @ 03/14/2005 11:47 AM EST

I have to say anything by Avril Lavigne…her music sucks but I’m in love.

Ghosted by Pewing33ny @ 03/14/2005 11:48 AM EST

Quiet Riot… because Cum On Feel The Noize is too damn catchy for a girl raised on 80’s rock.

Ghosted by Meg @ 03/14/2005 11:57 AM EST

Hey matt, you gonna change the lay out of the web site err not? Hehe I couldn’t resit the low posting and cant think off the top of my head of any body like that. Now songs yeah theres tons that get stuck in your head no matter how annoying they are…

Ghosted by LordSorrow @ 03/14/2005 12:00 PM EST

I hate just about everyone that sang "We Are The World" with the exception of Huey Lewis and the News. However that song always brings a tear to my eye in a sappy 80’s sort of way. I HATE that.

drop it like its hawt

Abba songs get stuck on my head very often…
Waterloo…waterloo…grrrrrrrrr
I hate Abba!

Ghosted by Célia @ 03/14/2005 12:43 PM EST

I don’t know the band’s name, but that damned Friends song. I got busted once singing along to it in my car. Right when it got to the clapping, I look over at the car next to me and two girls were just staring at me with a look that said "You are a moron."

Ghosted by jhnnywalkr @ 03/14/2005 12:47 PM EST

You know the sad thing about Quiet Riot? Their first hit was a cover by a British glam band, so they try to follow it up on their second album with…another cover of a song by that same band!

Obviously, "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" didn’t quite catch on as much as their first hit.

Ghosted by Hellpop! @ 03/14/2005 1:02 PM EST

"She’s Every Woman" by Garth Brooks, although he was "really" Chris Gaines at the time, so does it count?

Ghosted by Mxmx @ 03/14/2005 1:39 PM EST

Yeah…

The wife loves Dixie Chicks and country, as I have tried to stay away from it for fear of being stereotyped here in Germany, I can’t get enough of it.

Semper Fi,
Erik Majorwitz

although this doesn’t count as a musician/group…i feel like less of a man for loving the Grease soundtrack

Ghosted by STYLER @ 03/14/2005 2:01 PM EST

I despise Creed, but I admit that their cover of Riders on the Storm is possibly as good as the original version.

Ghosted by Gavok @ 03/14/2005 2:07 PM EST

Aws much as i hate and want to string Fred Durst up by his thumbs, "faith" was a pretty cool cover. I feel so dirty and ashamed.

Ghosted by primusboy @ 03/14/2005 2:15 PM EST

I’m already noticing a pattern here. A lot of these listed I think will be bands that suck who managed to do a fairly decent cover. I hate cover songs, at least when they are released as the new band’s main single. You like them, but of course you do, you’ve heard them a million times before. It’s a no-talent move.

Ghosted by jhnnywalkr @ 03/14/2005 2:59 PM EST

Well, at the beginning of their widespread fame, I didn’t care much for Green Day, mainly due to the hype of them being the second coming of Punk. (like it ever went away in the first place.) But, I really dug "Walking Contradiction." With a little help from Time, I can say G-Day is a pretty good group on their own, PR aside. It’s that in general, I feel if you are going to hate a pop group or singer, find one song you like, and use that as your standard for dislike. "Why can’t they make more tunes like this!"

Ghosted by kingklash @ 03/14/2005 3:09 PM EST

Faint by Linkin Park. I wish I could help it.

Ghosted by Jeff Mack @ 03/14/2005 3:10 PM EST

Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous by Good Charlotte.

I hate how they’re ridiculous posers and I hate their scene…but everytime that song comes on the radio/iPod, I can’t help but start bopping up and down to the beat.

Ghosted by Soviet Rocket @ 03/14/2005 3:32 PM EST

the only song to get stuck in my fragile mind as of late was ’stonehenge’ from the movie ‘this is spinal tap.’ does anyone else feel my pain?

Ghosted by eskimo_guy @ 03/14/2005 3:34 PM EST

I can’t stand any of the "boy bands," but I’ll tell you, if I’m along in the car and "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys comes on, I’m singing at the top of my lungs. I have the same secret love affair with the Titanic theme song. I’d never admit it in public, though!

Ghosted by Shelby @ 03/14/2005 3:37 PM EST

I have to go with Shelby to some extent: I HATE NSync but I like the song "Tearin’ Up My Heart". I also love the songs "Barbie Girl" and "Candyman" by the group Aqua. Oh, yeah and the Spice Girls, NKOTB and Olivia Newton-John are guilty pleasures of mine..

Ghosted by Melissa Y. @ 03/14/2005 3:56 PM EST

Blue (dah doo dee dah doo dah).

no idea who did it or what the hell it means, but i cant turn it off.

Ghosted by Draven @ 03/14/2005 4:03 PM EST

I like Celebrity Skin, by Hole, but I hate the rest of their songs.

I also like the song Dramamine, by Modest Mouse…the rest? Hated it!

In Too Deep, by Sum 41.

There was one song a long time ago by Garbage, Matt posted it as an Easter Egg on an article. I liked that song, but that’s about it by them.

Kenny Rogers – The Gambler
And this one song from Veggie Tales, it’s called the Cheeseburger Song :) It’s really cool!

There are def. other bands that I like a few songs, but these bands are the one-song only club.

Ghosted by kidneyboy @ 03/14/2005 4:03 PM EST

Hey Kingklash — great poll choice!

Uh, I hate admitting this, seriously, but it must be done: I’m a Christmas music junkie (big surprise, I know), and despite my best efforts, whenever I’m driving solo and the windows are definitely not open, Mariah’s damn X-Mas song is perfectly welcome. Go me.

Ghosted by Matt @ 03/14/2005 4:04 PM EST

Matt, I share your passion for the season and must admit an unhealthy adoration for the music. Thankfully, I work with an MP3 nut who has amassed a xmas collection of no less than 9Gb. He brings in that chunk of his hard drive every thanksgiving for the office to share…..

Ghosted by Draven @ 03/14/2005 4:08 PM EST

Who doesn’t hate Britney (insert ho reference here______) but like a song hers?

Ghosted by Kennef @ 03/14/2005 4:09 PM EST

"song OF hers."

Ghosted by Correction @ 03/14/2005 4:10 PM EST

I have a true love for Phil Collins, some ppl know this, but its hard to admit it to others. I also enjoy WAAAYYYY too much is cartoon theme songs. I know Tail Spin by heart, my friends make me sing it over and over just cause I can do that grin and bear it when your in it part! And I truly believe I would have been a better choice to sing in the Little Mermaid!

Ghosted by IHAQ @ 03/14/2005 4:18 PM EST

For me it is Violent Femmes – Blister in the Sun.

Ghosted by Tiny @ 03/14/2005 4:41 PM EST

I know what you mean by your friends making you sing that song. The theme song to the commercial for the A-Team action figures. For some reason I seem to be the only person I know able to sing it in its entirety. They constantly force me to do so.

MST3K meets Cheap Seats (Monday at 10pm on ESPN)
I understand the dislike of the Sklar Brothers, but I enjoy the show for feeling more like public access with a budget; rather than just a MST3K rip-off.

"1985" by Bowling For Soup. I hate that band. I hate everything they represent (as a punk rock fan). I hate all the crap that sounds like them. I hate all the obvious cliches in that song. I hate his snotty voice. But once I hear taht song, It’s stuck in my head all day long. Damn you, snotty skate punks.

"Springstein, Maddona, way befefore Nirvana AAAHAHHHHGGGGGGG@#$@"

Ghosted by Lou @ 03/14/2005 5:14 PM EST

That Hillary Duff song "So Yesterday".

i rocked out to "bye bye bye" in a car one time.

no one told me.

then they laughed.

oh, how they laughed.

The Widow by Mars Volta

Very awesome tune that evokes early Led Zeppelin with compelling lyrics and a strong sonic style.

The rest of their album evokes the prog rock equivalent of lukewarm ferret shit.

Ghosted by MAT @ 03/14/2005 5:45 PM EST

Pink Floyd : Mother

I hate…LOATHE…everything else they ever did.

Ghosted by Devin @ 03/14/2005 5:56 PM EST

jhnnywalkr:

I vaguely remember the A-Team action figure theme. The one piece I remember is "you can pretend that you’re Hannibal, Murdock or Face; or even BA Barracus, you know each one is an ace."

I fucking hate Billy Joel (even though I’m from NYC), but LOVE Captain Jack.

Ghosted by Pedro @ 03/14/2005 6:14 PM EST

Shakira… defintely her.

Wait a second, nevermind… I think I love her.

Ghosted by Review the World @ 03/14/2005 6:19 PM EST

Definately Maroon 5…all their songs sound the same. But there’s one I can jam to, just not that much.

Ghosted by Warx @ 03/14/2005 6:28 PM EST

Oh man, this is great. :D

I have a few songs.
1. "My Happy Ending" – Avril Lavigne
2. "Thing called Love" The Darkness
3. "Just Lose it" Eminem

I’m sure there’s more. :)

That’s right, I’m an "ltrftp" (long time reader first time poster), and I just have to say first of all that X-E is friggin’ awesome! Stumbled into it completely by accident while researching an English paper and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Now, as far as the poll: I’m gonna have to say Nine Inch Nails — "Hurt." All the rest of their music I’ve heard is absolute trash, but there’s just something about Trent Rezner (sp?) pouring out his soul into that piece that hits me right *here*.

Ghosted by nerothewizard @ 03/14/2005 7:26 PM EST

nerothewizard … OMG *loves Trent and all of his music* :’(

Heh, sorry … just never heard anyone call his music … ahem … "absolute trash" *winces*

Anyhow, welcome to posting at X-E :)

Man, Shakira is definitely my guiltiest radio pleasure, though she seems to have disappeared. However, Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You…that I will never, ever change the station for.

Nickleback – Figured you out

Matchbox 20 – Push

I dunno I just like when pussy bands do songs about abusing women.

I have two…God, I don’t know why I’m letting this out to the public, but…
Pretty Boy Floyd and, well, Stryper. Please don’t beat me up.

Ghosted by Meat Popsicle @ 03/14/2005 8:47 PM EST

I just wanna live by Good Charolette, hate the band, but damn thats one catchy tune.

Ghosted by The Dude @ 03/14/2005 9:17 PM EST

I hate good charlotte but I love their song "the click". its the theme song to under grads.
