I truly envy all of you who were fortunate enough to have been able to play this game in our glorious childhood or perhaps in more recent years, as I must say I never got to play a full game.
I remember the commercials, and the excitement they generated. Never had I anticipated the release of a board game until now. Then the day finally came when I received mine. When I opened up the box it was as if I was Indiana Jones opening the arc. At that moment I realized that this game was truly special. However my friends didn't seem to think so, so much to my disbelief I couldn't find anyone to play the game. What a bummer! I possessed the greatest board game ever made, and I couldn't even play it.
I soon thought Fireball Island was a bust since I couldn't get a game on, but then a new kid moved into the neighborhood. He seemed real nice and made friends quickly so I became his friend as well. One day he discovered that I had the game and said he would like to play. Ah! Hope is reborn right? Wrong! He asked to borrow the game so he could learn how to play, and myself as the always trusting schmuck that I am gladly let him borrow the game only to discover that he and his family moved away the very next day.
Then the teenage years followed, followed by adulthood, marriage, and waking up one day deciding to reclaim your childhood. You say to yourself I am an adult now! I make the decisions! I am going on ebay to buy Fireball Island!
Then you discover it's $150-$200. You also discover it was only manufactured for a year or so, and then I realize I want something bad to happen to that guy!
Milton Bradley, you need to reissue this game. as far as I know people aren't paying these high prices for your other games. It would most certainly sell.

My dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas I asked for Fire Ball island after seeing the commercial. I freaked when I opened the gift. Never got to play this much when I did I loved it. Calling my parents to see if they still have it and all the pieces. My kids will play this game.

I am 31 now and still remember the awesomeness of this game. I wish my parents still had it. Maybe a 25th anniversary special will be on the horizon?

You sir, have written a tribute the likes of which has never been written. This might be called nostalgia by those who have never walked the trails of the Island, but they'd be wrong. I vividly remember the added twinge that the fireball card gave when it was played against you (bringing life to your innermost fear and terror of being flamed), you could see it in the poor bastard's eyes on the card.

I'm 28 years old now and this was by far my favorite game as a child. I would still play it if my mother hadn't given it away. But mark my words, fireball island will be mine once again...oh yes, it will be mine!

I just got this game off ebay and my kids love it. They're young so we're kinda making our own house rules but it's great! Love the page
