12/06/2004: Advent Calendar @ The Sushi Bar!

It’s a big day on the Advent Calendar, as Mare, Knacks and Kuse celebrate their Christmas tree with a huge feast at the local sushi bar. They might even meet a new friend. It’s a medium day on the Advert Calendar, as I make up for the crappy Dearfoams download with something you’ll like better: the original Super Mario Bros. 2 for the NES. Enjoy. And what’s your favorite Christmas/holiday song?

I love most of those S. Park Xmas songs, especially Cartman’s Oh Holy Night and the duet between Santa and Jesus. SHAWXmas is a fav as well, but the synthiness gets a little played out by the time 12/25 rolls around.
Since we’re on the subject, can someone explain why "Greensleeves" is in constant rotation on the office Xmas background music? I can see the Christmas connection with "My Favorite Things" though it seems like a stretch, but "Greensleeves"? Maybe it’s something blatantly obvious…

My favorite is "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" and "What Child is This?" preferably sung by a group of cold carolers of which I am a member.

Squee, the tune of "Greensleeves" is used in the carol "What Child is This?", mentioned in an earlier post, though the tune itself is much older than the song, I believe.
