Emeril’s Halloween Cooking Special.

Did you know Emeril had a Halloween special? Bam, he did. Bam. BAM. BAM. By the way, this appears to be the 500th entry on the blog. Kinda feels like there's been a whole lot more than that, but this calls for a celebration. I think I'll have coffee.

Survey: List your top five most prized possessions. Mine are really lame, I'll add them to the comments later. Doesn't matter if they're worth anything -- list the five things you can't possibly ever get rid of and that serve as a happy thought whenever you need one after a bird shits on you.

Top five. Hmmm.
1. Computer (for obvious reasons)
2. TV
3. Playstation (need something for that TV)
4. Rikku 12" Action Figure (took me forever to find and I’m never getting rid of it. Makes me happy everytime I look at it.)
5. Comic collection (hours and hours of reading)

Looking at that list, holy shit I’m a big nerd. Oh well. And first?

Have no idea who that guy is, but this still makes me laugh! 4,000 cloves. heh!

Woops!
1. My diaries, notes from highschool, etc.
2. Could never live without my computer/internet
3. Toys from when I was a kid (meemoriesss..)
4. My systems (PS2, SNES, NES, Genesis..list goes on)
5. My MP3 collection I guess. Music always cheers me up :)

My 5 favouritest possessions?
1. NHK, Kaiyodo and Yowie prehistoric animal collection
2. Jurassic Park Estemmenosuchus and Scutosaurus
3. Masters’ degree (not official yet, but it’s done, so it counts).
4. Fish tank with three bichirs (I know, my site says two).
5. The rest of my (mostly prehistoric) animal figure collection.

Wow. I’m a nerd on a different order. At least I have a wife & kid so that people don’t think I’m a total whack-job (and no, I don’t consider people to be possessions, or of course they’d be at ther top of the list).

BTW Matt, I saw your earlier blog question, and responded at the email address in the contact section. I haven’t heard back, so I don’t know if you got it, but the short version is, there’s probably not much you can do–it sounds like a disease called Hole in the Head.

Uhummm…
Well let’s see:
-my 1983 Darth Vader helmet-box with filled with action figures.

-my four seasons futurama dvd set.

-the whole bunch of Terry Pratchett books

-the PC and…and…

-the original 40 figures set of miniature lead figures of Lord of the Rings

yeah, that would be the main thing, though my cd collection would follow immediately!

I want a T-shirt with ‘Bam!’ Written on it. That would be my entire top 5 sorted. Although my patriotic USA t-shirt spelling ‘The United States of America’ as ‘The Unftied Statfs of Amefica’ comes a close second. Gotta love Engrish!

I only have one true prized possesion and I ain’t telling, ’cause it’s probably the secret of my power. But, I’ve had it since I was three months old. It’s valuable to me. But, any five after that?*

1. Unicron
2. My tape of TransFormers: the Movie.
3. Spider-Man GBA case w/GBA and arcade collection carts (go Pac-Man!)
4. Big box of Atari carts, ah, what the heck, all my video games
5. My "Illustrated Edition Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy" with cool photoshopped aliens

*list void after the invention of the brain-implant that allows access to X-E from anywhere in the world.

Great and hard, hard question. Mine…

- My DVDs everything from Aliens to Zardoz. Well, maybe not Zardoz

- My Imperial Shuttle. The gigantic one I think Matt has two or three of, only the reissue one. Still, it’s uber.

- My DEATH TO HUMANS t-shirt. Because everyone should be constantly reminded of how funny Bender is

- My cellphone. yeah, I know that’s lame, but it’s my connection to all my friends.

- My computer, I guess. It infuriates me at every turn, but I just can’t do without it.

Hey Matt, I just wanted you to know that, thanks to you, I have rented "The Worst Witch" just in time for Halloween. Now I know just how to punish my boyfriend for not picking up his underwear :)

1. My copy of Chrono Trigger
2. All my CDs
3. My comic book collection
4. My PC
5. All my DVDs

Yeah I realize a collection isn’t technically "one item" but so what?

Chestnuts roasted by plasmo @ 10/09/2004 12:52 PM

Pedro from NY-Fuckin-City is back.

I hate emerill. I hate it when the only thing on food newtwork are his shitty shows. Great piece, matt.

Top 5 possessions:

1. My car
2. My Fantastic Four #3 (the one where they get their uniforms and the fantasticar)
3. My collection of bootleg Cure concert CDs.
4. My surfboard
5. My cigarrettes

I BEG YOU TO CHECK OUT THE DISCUSSION FORUMS ON http://www.thepigsite.com. I’ve recently invaded them with off the wall comments and ask you all to join in. These are most clueless hysterical people on the planet.

Chestnuts roasted by Pedro @ 10/09/2004 1:13 PM

OK, my list (complete with mostly unnecessary commentary)…

1. A box with all my personal mementos in it (home movies, pictures, notes, etc.) I didn’t want to clog up the list with all that stuff.

2. My camcorder. I spent many a youthful summer afternoon making (often embarrassing) videos with my parents’ camcorder and I really missed having one after I moved out. I was able to get one for myself last year and may I never be camcorderless again…

3. My video collection. Most notably, my plethora of Kids Inc. tapes. YES, I KNOW it was a lame show, but my world revolved around it when I was 6. Every time I watch those tapes it’s like a little vacation back to 1985 and reminds me of that innocent, psyched-just-to-be-alive feeling you have as a kid. Moving on…

4. My autographed picture of Greg Kinnear that E! sent me back in 1993. It doesn’t mean quite the same to me now as it did then, but I was euphoric for weeks after getting that in the mail. Good times.

5. I have to say, my catalog collection. When I was a kid, I always got excited when the new Sears and JCPenney catalogs came in the mail (especially the Christmas ones). The ones I didn’t wear out I’ve kept (some of the notable ones I did wear out I purchased again – thank you, eBay). My favorites sit in the living room and I love to flip through them.

1. Sliders DVD Set (I payed 90 fucking dollars for it).

2. Collection of Thomas Haden Church films along with episodes of Ned & Stacey and Wings on DVD and VHS (It took me 4 years to collect).

3. Sonic the Hedgehog stuff.

4. My notebooks (Nobody really needs to be reading my Mary Sues about Thomas Haden Church, it’s a self-enjoyment thing. I know I sound like a psycho THC fan… well… I’m not *runs off with a THC cardboard cut-out*).

5. My sanity… except for Thomas Haden Church. Damn you, Church!!!

Umm….

1) my life,

2) my house,

3) my writing and drawing ability,

4) my extended family,

5) and insert one inanimate material thing here, I guess.

Chestnuts roasted by Mars @ 10/09/2004 2:01 PM

1. My dog
2. My game boy SP. (I like how it flips open.)
3. My family and friends
4. Choco Tacos
5. My computer

Chestnuts roasted by HOTSHOT @ 10/09/2004 2:06 PM

1. My Cats
2. All my quilting supplies
3. Lord of the Rings box set(books)
4. My wedding album
5. My iPod (ok, it’s my husbands, but it’s still cool).

I guess these are more like, things I’d take with me if I was stranded on the ubiquitous desert island… I can’t think of any "possessions" that I am like, super proud of or whatever. I mean, it’s just stuff that I bought, most of it. Anyone can buy stuff.
