Jason Voorhees & Alice Cooper UNITE!

This is pretty interesting, I'm surprised I haven't covered it before. To celebrate Jason's return in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, the slasher's old pal, Alice F'n Cooper, wrote, sung and starred in a music video all in tribute to the big man with the machete. Titled He's Back -- The Man Behind The Mask, the video guest stars Jason himself, who flies through a movie screen on a Tarzan rope and paces in front of moviegoers. Quick review also includes a really grainy video clip. You've gotta see Jason tackle Alice for yourselves, it'll make your night.

Yes!! Alice Cooper rocks old school, I’ve heard the song before but I’ve never seen the video thanks for lifting my day.

While we are on the topic of horror flick soundtracks … Did anyone else here own the soundtrack to The Lost Boys? "Cry Little Sister", the theme song of the movie, takes me back … And that shirtless saxophone player at the carnival in the movie … great movie.

never saw the video but I did hear the song when I payed a friend to put it on a CD for me, good stuff. Will you be covering Will Smith’s Nightmare on my street or Motorhead’s cover of Hllraiser videos? that’d be a good addition to the October month

Hey Matt, what’s your number two Friday movie (since I’m assuming that The Final Chapter is your fave)?
I vote for a review of the Dokken video too!
[freddy]What a Nightmare![/freddy]
Anybody else buying the Friday set?

Agggh!!!

He’s back…

Well, better than the mindless garbage my stepdaughters watch that gets stuck in your head.

Matt should review the movie "TRICK OR TREAT"

Chestnuts roasted by dfgdfg @ 10/05/2004 2:42 PM

Hell yeah! I’ve never seen Trick or Treat, but I have seen the box cover. In fact, it may just be the best box cover EVER:

Just looking at the movie description, I’m almost tempted to take a trip to Amazon.com for it. In fact, I bet it’d make a great Christmas gift. The kind of movie gift that you buy somebody else, but it’s really for you because you plan to watch it with them.

Chestnuts roasted by Gavok @ 10/05/2004 3:39 PM

I agree with Gavok about Dream Warriors. Dokken is one of my favorite bands and a review of Dream Warriors would make my day. Also, you should check out the video for ‘Love Kills’ by The Vinnie Vincent Invasion, it’s also based on Freddy Krueger. I don’t much care for the song itself, but the video is great.

First time commentator, long-time reader. Great site, Matt.

Anyway, there’s a website called http://www.freestylemusicvideos.com/

At this website, they have all your favotite cheesy horror-movie music videos available for mixing and matching onto customized DVDs.

My favorite video is "Dream Warriors"…The gag ending with Kruegger waking up from a bad dream was funny.

Also, Matt, it’s a little early, but will you be covering any Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades this year? I feel your reviews of the 1984, 1985 and 1986 parades were killer.

Chestnuts roasted by The Rock Steady Flamethrower @ 10/05/2004 3:55 PM

Typo…Favotite should be "favorite". Duh, yep, yep, yep!

Chestnuts roasted by The Rock Steady Flamethrower @ 10/05/2004 3:57 PM

Trick or Treat is a great movie. Ozzy saying things like "Heavy metal is pornography" really takes it to the next level.

Black Roses is another good heavy metal horror movie, though not as Halloweenish. Hard Rock Zombies might fit the Hallowtheme…

This music video is great. Thanks for opening another door of my childhood Matt!

I would have that song in my head all day but I have all hair band all day on my sat radio

Yay, The Ramones! Good choice, Kingklash.

I actually have AC’s Poison running through my veins, I mean, head, now, after listening to that song. His voice is so distinctive, and that’s the only one of his songs that I know all of the words to, so that’s the one that’s stuck.

I love these little articles. It’s great knowing I have something new X-Eish to read every morning. Great job, Matt, keeping up w/ the 9-5ers, and then coming home and writing a new article every night.

interesting video, it reminds me of an opening to a kids mystery show

One of the best non-drug mood elevators I have ever recommened is a good Ramones cut. You try to be down while jumping around, singing I Wanna Be Sedated, I dare you.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 10/05/2004 5:13 PM

Loved the video. Jason + Alice = good times for all. By the way, does anyone remember the glut of gimmicky 900 numbers in the late 80′s? I was thinking of one that was seasonably apropos- back in ’89, my brother and I used to call 1-900-909-4FRED. You could listen to Freddy Krueger threaten to do all sorts of horrible (and intriguing) things to you in your dreams. The jig was up when mom and dad discovered a $22.00 charge on the phone bill- DOH! Anyway, if you remember that, post. Ciao!

We’re the dreaaaam waaarriooooors!! I love the Alice video! The song isn’t a example of the best Cooper, but it’s fun. The lead guitar player, Kane Roberts had a assaul rifle/guitar.

Chestnuts roasted by Viruete @ 10/05/2004 8:34 PM

I always liked that song. Up there with Nightmare on My Street and Dream Warriors as great 80s cheese horror movie tributes.

It looks like no one beat me to this, but I hate to inform you all that Rodney Dangerfield died just a few hours ago…82 years old too.

…Great Article Matt…

Hey, first time poster. This is really cool, I actually just got home from seeing Alice Cooper in concert (way up here in Sudbury, Ontario), and I get treated to this. 2 shots of Alice in one day! Thanks, Matt!

The links still aren’t working for me.

Chestnuts roasted by JLAJRC @ 10/06/2004 12:01 PM

Matt, I agree, a review of a Macy’s parade next month would kick ass! By the way, would you consider vidcapping a whole parade and giving it to someone to seed on bittorrent, so people could download the whole cheesy parade without killing you with website bandwidth costs?

Chestnuts roasted by Destro @ 10/06/2004 3:37 AM

I heard there was going to be a He-Man movie and remembered the coloring boook article, so I looked it up…

Thanks for the kind words, Traj. It’s a lot tougher to do this while working than I anticipated, it’s good to know it’s not falling on deaf monitors.

JLA — are you on a Mac? The file type will only work on Windows. I can’t afford to make two file types available, and generally speaking, mpg/avi files are simply too large for me to make downloads available so frequently.

Weds’ Countdown entry will be posted tonight. It’s written, I just didn’t have time to put it together last night. The entry for Thursday is pretty killer, though. :)

RIP Rodney, thanks for the triple dive and everything else.

I use a iMac, but thanks to my vast mental stoehouse of trivia and TV-related things, remembering the video is no problem for me. In the meantime, are they starting to mine nightmares for commercial ideas? The Juicy Fruit ads with the CPR dummy and the pinata, f’r instance. Or the Levi’s ad with the mannequin stalker. I just know there are people losing sleep after seeing those ads. I’m still scarred from the melting Grimace ad from a long time ago.
