09/02/2004: Halloween Request!

Request!!! I’m still looking for more Halloween crap if anyone out there has it.  Some readers took me up on the request and sent in some really great stuff — we’re in for some killer creepy content this season.  For those who missed my last message, here’s what I’m looking for: Halloween sitcoms/toons/specials, Halloween-themed commercials (these can be in either file format or dubbed VHS), Halloween print ads from old magazines & comics, or anything else that you’ve got laying around that just seems “X-Eish.”  I will pay all expenses for you to make copies and ship ‘em out; we can also work out trades, whatever.  Shoot me an e-mail if you think you’ve got anything that fits the bill, and thanks!

Still writing up a list of novelty tunes, including some that are appropos of the season, even though not originally meant as such.

Matt, did you get my e-mail with my suggestion? I wish I still had the darn thing on tape but even if I did, I’m still the only person in existence who doesn’t have a dual VCR setup to copy videos. :( But I hope you can get a hold of it from someone to review. Notice I’m being coy by not giving out the title, I don’t want people stealing my ideas darnnit! Oh, speaking of past X-E Halloween articles, do you know The Worst Witch is now out on DVD? I just got it the other day and I’m so excited because at least now I can watch the cheesy video effects in high quality…but they still look cheesy and Tim Curry’s cape is still too damn big.

You’ve never done in-depth reviews of the Castlevania games and I would love to see that.  Also there’s not nearly enough Ghostbusters crap on your site.

Melissa you’re not alone I have something that might be x-eish but I don’t have a VCR dubber setup.

The only decent thing I’ve found lately is a chunk out of the middle of a celebrity rodeo with James Coburn, Pee-wee Herman and Markie Post.  Markie Post does some trick riding.

It’s not Halloween related in the least, though.

I think a guy in a Corey haim mask would be quite frightening. It would make run. Did you see how fat the guy got? I didn’t know that kicking a drug habit could make a person so rotund. Anyway, he scares me real bad.

I dont think i really have anything Halloween themed, but I see stuff here at work that goes on clearance all the time that you would probably love, if you have a PO box or something, I can make sending out a box of penny toys from long forgotten cartoon series a regular thing.  Drop me a line here mintgreengoblin@aol.com if intrested

Hmm…wish I could still find that damn Slimer trick-or-treatin’ pail from Burger King.  I distinctly remember the last of the listed safety tips being "Have a ghost bustin’ good time!"  And believe me, I did.

Wait, Wait a minute, Matt, if you can find out someway of finding it, I beleive there was a Halloween epsiode of the "Mightly Morphing Power Ranger." I didn’t quite remember the plot. Although, in the epsiode, Rita created (or one of her goons created) a Frankstein monster look alike that trash in one scene, I believe, a halloween party at the Juice Bar and fought with the megazord. Try asking the people that often respond to you article see if they know where to fine this epsiode if you are interest to review it.

there were a few halloween power ranger ones. There was one about rita making a frankenstein monster. One when Kimberly goes on a halloween themed game show and one when Tommy goes to a monster graveyard. And made a really hot pirate.

Pikachulover, Well, thank goodness I’m not alone. I actually have a few old things on video that I think Matt would enjoy but alas, no copying abilities. Sad isn’t it?

What about me!

Hey B-Dawg, I’m from Lynn MA.  Hmmmm, just thought I’d mention that . . . not too often I find comments online from people so close.  Ever visit Harrison’s?

It’s the time involvement that has me, i have 3 episodes of Real Ghostbusters that were aired almost back to back on halloween on USA network in the early 90’s i’d love to send out to you matt.
maybe i’ll take a half day at work and copy the damn thing and send it off to you shoot me an e-mail if you want it.

I should also mention that the tape has little commercial intermissions starring a monster hotel which is run by Dracula, werewolfs, frankensteins, and not to mention the scores of halloween commercial from different companies, including those infamous Mcdonalds halloween buckets.

What about the Scary-Godmother special? I think that would make  kickass review-fodder (unless you’ve already done it or something).  I have it on tape somewhere, and I have a capture-card, but I’ll look around for a digital version first.  It’s not bad in a funny way, it’s actually a really good special.  It’s probably not as good as the comic, but what the hey.

Were there any He-Man Halloween eps?

I have 4 tapes worth of He-man that I’ve watched relatively little of, but I figure Matt already has every episode anyway.

Have you ever reviewed the Duck Tales ep with all the Universal monsters staying at Scrooge’s hotel?

Posted by Paul @ 09/16/2004 1:42 PM EDT

I went through the Halloween section. Nothing. Especially no Peeps Choco Bats!
