80s Commercials – Volume H2RE-46c!

Yeah, it's late, but it's up, here it is: 80s Commercials - Volume H2R3-46c. Another dozen in this batch, including Colgate Junior, the Mickey Mouse Playhouse, Roddy Piper and something about cheeseburgers. I sort of rushed through it so I'd have time to put together another article I've been meaning to write (and one that I spent a little too much money for the materials), but it's all up and there's plenty of downloads for you to check out. By the way, it's way too hot out.

Hmmm…If it was the "real" Matt he would have written in by now. I’m sure t’was just the standard blog flamer. Flamers put their pants on one leg at a time, just like everyone else, but after they get their pants on they post stupid crap and run. Besides, I’d have to agree with Joe in OH…Matt knows how to spel gud.

Ha ha, how mighty original, pretending to be Matt, and saying something ludicrous like you are shutting X-E down. Please.
I can’t believe anyone fell for that illiterate asshole’s post. Not only are there simple misspells, it’s nowhere near what Real Matt would have said anyway. Geez. THINK, PEOPLE.

Geez, haven’t you people been reading long enough to realize that not only is Matt an immaculate speller, but he doesn’t write anything in less than 30,000 words! He wrote 10,000 on a broom he found in an Advent calendar! I think he would write a lot more than that if he were leaving.

But let’s all hope he never does!

I can lend you my interdimensional portal so you can deal with the Imposter-Matt. Comes with 78-hour temp authority to use the Dork-Seeking Pool Cue. (now Teflon coated for smoother, less irritating retribution.)

Wasn’t me. I’m at work. You should know better!

Anyone notice Jake Fogelnest is on "I Love The 90s" as a commentator? He was a precursor to Matt in some ways. Click on my name for links about the guy.

I wish I kept my Wishbooks or even the Toys’R'Us Christmas books that came in newspaper.

-First Doink was awesome, with the evil circus music, the other versions all sucked.

I Love the 90′s has some guy who’s a "pop culture expert". They should have used Matt instead.

Chestnuts roasted by Paul @ 07/13/2004 6:54 PM

Matt uses proper punctuation and capitalization. Fake Matt used the usual lack of punctuation and capitalization most people on the internet use because they’re too lazy to do otherwise.

Chestnuts roasted by Teirusu @ 07/13/2004 6:56 PM

The reason Matt never had to secure some way for no one to pretend to be him is that no one was stupid enough to try to do it before now. Honestly, why do you, whoever you are, want to imposter him? Unless you’re 13 I don’t understand the motivation.

About "Shredder’s" not-Shredder voice–remember doing the run of the original cartoon, there were a few episodes where a different guy did the voice? It really peeved me simply because the normal guy sounded so much better.

And am I the only 80s child who never watched pro-wrestling? Mostly due to the fact I wasn’t allowed to watch it. I only saw the WWF cartoon a few times and only remember the episode where they had an amusement park where every wrestler got a ride named after them. Hulk Hogan, of course, had the roller coaster.

That bubble-gum quote, Number5, is going to keep me laughing for a good day or so.

Chestnuts roasted by inkmage @ 07/13/2004 7:42 PM

Uncle Phil is the definitive Shredder.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to more 80s commercials. I think that TV commercials in the 80s were far more memorable than the 90s batch. Hope you got some of the good stuff like Twinkie the Kid, the Hubba Bubba Gum Fighter, Snausages, Klondike bars, and more Transformers commercials.

Chestnuts roasted by Bert Raccoon @ 07/13/2004 8:15 PM

Matt- Thanks so much for the commercials! So many of them I thought only I remembered the jingles to ("My first Sony" is permanently etched into my brain, I am pretty sure.) Glad to see all your WWF knowledge as well! DANTHEAPE- I went to a WWF show when i was 10- Front row….dream come true….BRET THE HITMAN HART .vs. ADAM BOMB WAS THE MAIN EVENT! (and for a Canadian kid like me Bret is ‘the best there is the best there was and THE BEST THERE EVER WILL BE) but anyways- DOINK THE CLOWN was there too- and he came out with a bucket of snowballs and I got hit with one! I was one of the chosen ones! I agree with you- he was best at first.

Hey Matt, can you please do an article on Bionicle? I know it’s not 80s, but it is still a pretty frigging good toyline. If you don’t have a clue what the hell Bionicle is, go to BZPOWER.COM.
ALso: Poll TIme! How many of you think that Chalkzone sucks big monkey privates and that SNap RUdy and Penny are all so annoying , that they should all burn in hell

I’m practically pissing my pants as I read the comments of the impostor, and I’m not laughing with him. I seriously think that if Matt were to shut down X-E, he would’ve written something special about it in a new article (or at least a new blog entry).

Chestnuts roasted by Nate @ 07/13/2004 10:43 PM

Matt, I doubt you care, but it seems that http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0283905/"> Jake Fogelnest worked on pilot for http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0811746/"> Barry Sobel (of "227" fame, sort of) and VH1 called "The Old School Show."
Here are his journal entries on the show and pictures:

TOM, aren’t you like, ten? Chill on the language or you won’t have any curse words left to bug your parents with by the time you’re 15. At least hold back on the "C" word as your trump card.

Imposter Ant: nice lesson teaching, but it would be more effective if anyone had believed it was actually Matt for more than twenty seconds. I think people have been blocked from commenting on the blog in the past, so hopefully we’ll be spared if some other evil genius decides to replicate your insidious and ingenious plan.
