Toddler Turtles & TMNT Mutagen!

I love these figures, and you will too. Playmates has finally unleashed the Toddler Turtles four-pack, featuring each of the Ninja Turtles as little kiddies with less painful weapons and more innocent smiles. They're really some of the best toys I've seen out there in the past few years, and if you were ever a TMNT fan, don't even bother trying to pass 'em up. I would've paid double or triple the eight bucks they ran without feeling the least bit ripped off. Okay, maybe not triple. The next article should be killer...expect it tomorrow afternoon or early Wednesday. Or never.

While we're on the subject of TURTLES, you've gotta check out this shit I found. Okay, at Toys 'R' Us or a reasonable facsimile -- you know that section of the store with all of the party favors and whatnot? The one spot you never really bother with? Well, break the code. There's something great tucked in there, and it's cheap cheap cheap. A set of four small TMNT mutagen tubs, featuring this entirely too kickass slime that's more like Play-Doh than anything you'd get out of a vending machine. You can totally mold shit outta this stuff, and it's a lot sweeter smelling than most toy slimes to boot. I know a lot of the new figures come with a much more impressive barrel of mutagen, but this is a slime of a different kind. Definitely worth hunting down.

The party favors aren't new entries, and I doubt more are being produced. If any of your local stores have it, rest assured that it's the last of their stock. In other words, get away from your computer. Get out of the house. Get in your car or on your magic flying bike. Buy the Toddler Turtles and the almost-bootleg mutagen party favors. You know it's what you want. Don't deny yourself victory.

I know it’s not even close to the same continuity, but a Toddlerized version of Bebop and Rocksteady would be fucking AWESOME.

Speaking of WWF, how about a review of an episode of Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n Wrestling? So this is still on-topic, anyone know of any plans to release the original TMNT cartoons on DVD?

Perhaps you can use them to finish the damn chia plot thingy!!! ;-)

I remember reading some of the comic books. All I can remember is the turtles getting eaten by a giant cowhead, then competing in a wrestling match or two. Also, wasn’t Raphael turned completely black?

Anybody know what I’m talking about or I am doomed to continue making up more memories, to replace the terrible ones I have of my dad beating me with a sock full of nickels?

I prefer the Mirage comics too, a piece of milk. But, I still like these figures. And, you gotta admit, the New Cartoon does a better job of followinhg the comics than the old one did.

I still wish they’d make a darker, late-night, just-like-the-comics series, though. Where the turtles all have red masks and actually kill the Shredder.

BTW Matt, will we ever see a Bucky O’ Hare article, here?

What a coincidence–or not. I just finished re-watching Ninja Turtles 2 today. Haven’t seen it since–I must have been 14–ten years ago??? I forgot how much fun that movie was. "A little too Raph," still makes me laugh. But Vanilla Ice makes me laugh more . . . but in that man-falls-down-sewer-and-cracks-skull-open kind of funny.
I just picked up Liam Lynch’s "Fake Songs" album today (with bonus DVD), any other Liam "Sifl and Olly" Lynch fans here? And no, this is not a paid endorsemend.

Great stuff, and I found the photo of ‘Donatello checking out the suspicious holes on Raphael’s feet’ mildly erotic. I must go poke out my eyes now.

these new baby toitles look pretty good!! Matt,I just want to know, was there anything in those Turtle Pie wrappers, or did you just puff it up so it looks full to tease us?

I love Sifl and Olly and was really pissed when MTV took it off the air. It was my only reason to watch MTV, and I guess I really haven’t watched it since.

For some reason, I hear them talking kinda like Stinkoman K from H*R, "The fighting was decent, but it wasn’t much of a Challenge."

Hey matt – have you ever seen the Japanese TMNT cartoon (made back in 96 I think)– It only last 2 episodes (that I know of) but Shredder got turned into a dragon – Crang was a total idiot – the turtle could turn into super powered anime style guys and then could all join together into a “super turtle Voltron thing guy” – and tons of gratuitous ninja minions (they even call themselves that)- all the while the foot were taking a vaction on some beach. It was like a total parody of the American cartoon while trying to be a Japanese American cartoon. It’s hard to find but you really need to review it.

here’s the proof

"O Yeah" TMNT rock, I love the comics and I love the show, even though the violance is a little watered down. Another great article.

Im just posting here to see what A pokey icon looks like next to my name.

Chestnuts roasted by Danny @ 06/29/2004 1:03 PM

Intersting. Looks like something they would’ve done in the early 90s with the Treasure Troll turtles and the monster movie turtles. If I had extra money, i’d proboly grab them for shits and giggles. Same goes with the mutagine.

So cute man! I want I want!

I love Sifl & Olly!!! Most of my friends would just stare blankly as I tried to describe them and then I would just start cracking up and they would leave the room. That was the funniest show ever!

"Come on, everyone loves the Don. I think it was just easy for kids to relate with the character; he was a geek and a hopeless loser just like the rest of us."

He was voiced by Corey Feldmen in the movie… can’t get much bigger geek and hopeless loser than that.

Chestnuts roasted by Darthmuppet @ 06/29/2004 6:22 PM

Well played, Darth. The truth hurts.

Gotta agree with Rob, Leo was the most badass, he had the best weapon and, like in the newest cartoon was the best fighter and most badass ninja, if they made another film of the Turtles Russell Wong would play Leo cos he’s a badass too. But not the voice, nope, that would be silly, has anyone seen the original trailer for TMNT? I have the English DVD and the trailer hasn’t been dubbed by whoever did the voices, even Corey Feldman is missing, it sounds like some chinese dude who is only just learning English cos it don’t sound like the cool Mickey we know and love when he screams ‘God I love being a Turtle!’ Man I gotta get out more.

Chestnuts roasted by Dax @ 06/29/2004 6:39 PM

Gotta agree – Leo was my favorite too! Disliked Donatello a lot, I guess ’cause he reminded me somewhat of Simon from the Chipmunks. Always meddling around and being nerdy and stuff.

~I wanna dip my balls in it!
