Jell-O Pudding Pops are BACK!

It's a short article that was more suited to be a blog entry, but it was just too big of an occasion to resist: Jell-O Pudding Pops are back! This probably isn't big news to most of you here; I've seen it talked about over the past few weeks, but for the other half of the planet who must have this information, it's now there in html form with a bunch of pictures of Tunnel Rat. Now then, the answer to yesterday's Kinder Egg trivia quiz is...

A spider. Guess the clue was a little easy. "Ant" is our winner with the first corrent entry. He wins a big huge smile. :)

Hey Matt, that is one of the greatest announcements I have heard this year. I am a huge fan of Puddin Pops.

I still have a question though, where did you find Duck-A-Roos? I am searching for them and no luck. Thanks

Damnit, there goes the waist line. All those crunches are gonna go to waste now that these evil spawn of the Coz are back.

Mmmmmmm.
My mother used to get me Jell-O Pudding Pops when I was very young.

A few months ago when I was sick she surprised me with a box.

Oh, I love them. <3

Either they didn’t sell pudding pops here, or my parents never bought them. My mom had a Tupperware thing that could make 6 pops of whatever flavour you poured into the moulds. Most often it weas pudding or regular fruit jello’s mixed with kool-aid powder. I ate many during the summer months of my childhood, and the chewed-up rings of they key-like sticks are proof.

I’ve never had a pudding pop, but they sound yummy.

You saved the article when you brought in the Turtles. I wasn’t sure how much more I could read about the flavors and freezer burn. But as usual, it was a great article. :)

All right! Maybe my Grandma will have some in her fridge this summer, just like she did in the late 80s. Man, I’m having flashbacks now. Great article!

If that spider had two more eyes, he’d be the Itsy Bitsy Spider from the short-lived USA cartoon. And that’s cool. I hope there’s a Kinder Egg featuring an off-brand Ned’s Newt.

But will they ever have Butterscotch again???
We must have Butterscotch.

Chestnuts roasted by Randomkill @ 06/19/2004 2:20 AM

Drool :P
I can’t believe I’ve never had these before. Going to the grocery store now. I’ll comment again after I’ve tried them. They’d better be as good as you say. :D

I remember some kind of pudding freezie. Like a Mr. Freezie, but it was pudding instead. There was chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and I believe butterscotch. Mmmmmm… Those were good. I wonder if they still make them.

Haven’t you ever made your own? XD I make mine all the time– they come out better than those nasteh store bought thingamajigs. Freezer-burn and all.

Matt, would you ever flip this to settle a dispute?

I wouldn’t. These figs are too fucking awesome!

Not as awesome as a "Mac and Me" review, mind you.

So wait when I buy Pudding Pops they don’t freezer burn them beforehand???

Chestnuts roasted by Geek @ 06/19/2004 10:55 AM

SWEEEET! I am going to go put on my Bill Cosby Sweater and head to the store to get me some Pudding pops.

Number5, if she’s anything like my grandmother, those are the exact same box of pudding pops from the 80′s…something to complement the tasty "one-solid- lump-of-candy" dish on display.

Jake: agreed. This week explains the appeal of X-E to me. We went from the carnival to Jason to Pudding Pops.

Chestnuts roasted by Love The Swirl @ 06/19/2004 1:11 PM

The freezer burn ice coating that we loved so much is not freezer burn at all but done at the factory. To prvent the "pops" from losing their shape they are quickly dipped in water before packaging.

Chestnuts roasted by Madbuster @ 06/19/2004 1:17 PM

Madbuster, I’m not so sure if they’re doing that on the new version. They’re pretty gooey. Legit freezerburn might be the only way to get it.

Whoa! They’re back! Now is a time to rejoice and sing! Jell-O pudding pops have ressurected! I shall honour this great miracle with a purchase!

Matt- Great coverage of this glorious event!
