Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pudding Pies!

This is a really short article, but I wanted to get the ball rolling on the quest to find Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pudding Pies. Made by Hostess in the early 1990s, these vanilla goo-filled green-dyed pastries changed the lives of every grade schooler who knew what a "sai" was. After a year of hunting, I've located three of the original wrappers and some of the cards, and this has excited me enough to pay tribute even if I don't have anything too worthwhile to show you. Oh well. They're great wrappers, though. I love the wrappers. When will the pie search end? Soon, I hope. This is making me feel like such a loser.

I used to love these pies! Believe or not despite the green slime they were incredibly tasty! I also loved the ninja turtles!

Thanks for posting this, it really took me back to my childhood. I miss these things though I have to admit I’m sure the memorie is alot sweeter than if I were to get my hands on one today. I remember them being regular color on the outside with a neon green interior pudding though. Maybe someday some company somewhere will return the concept for these.

I was about 1 or 2 when these pies came out. So until today i never heard about them. I got a text from my boyfriend asking me to google them, he wanted a box and thats when i came across this site. He was pretty upset about them not being made any more. He wants to settle for just plain vanilla pies from hostess but i dont think they even make those……

It’s not looking like Hostess makes vanilla pies anymore. I did find out mrsbairds.com makes vanilla pies seasonally. Those are only sold in Texas though.

I am so angry right now at Hostess. Who wants a pie filled with fruit anyway? All I want is a phuckin pie crust covered with icing (it doesnt even need to be green!) and filled with vanilla pudding. IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR????????!!!! wtf????!!!

Well, a revelation may have been had here. Almost, at least. I was at the store the other day, and noticed that Hostess now makes CHOCOLATE pudding pies. Chocolate! I remember eating these when I was a kid, and loving them. Perhaps a vanilla version is on its way to us? If so, they would probably be identical to the TMNT ones, minus the green coloring of course. We can only hope!

Dear hostess,

Please bring back the pies I know to love as a child, I don’t care if they are green or not but just the taste of these pies have had me on the hunt that maybe just maybe hostess would bring them back on the shelf repackage. but it never happen and i would forever in this lifetime be looking for a so delicious pie as those tmnt pies. Please bring them back to the market, so everyone can relive this moment again.

this was the funniest shit ive ever read. Seriously. I havent thought about these turtle pies since i last ate one in 1991. I was one of those kids obsessed with the ninja turtles. I seriously thought these pies were the best shit money can buy. Funny article, i was crying while reading this i was laughing so hard.

I was looking for a turtle pie for years. Hostess had a plain vanilla custurd pie at on time, but not any more. I wish they would bring it back. When I was pregnant with my son I would have killed for one. He’s now 9 yrs old and I was just telling him about them, which lead me to this site. We all need to let Hostess know we want our sugar snack back!!!!!!

Will they EVER bring these back?! hopefully for a promo item for the new series airing on Nickelodeon?? Everyone needs to email NICKLEODEON and have them work out a deal with Hostess. If a big player like Nickleodeon gets involved, I’m positive Hostess will BITE. Because I know a number of fans have been emailing hostess and haven’t had any luck, but contact Nickleodeon, they just bought the TMNT franchise, so I bet they’ll do whatever they can to resurrect the fame of the series with old and new fans alike.

I remember there being a promotion where I got a TMNT belt buckle. It was a plastic TMNT shell that could be opened up and you could store stuff in it. I was the 4th grade kid with a huge turtle shell belt buckle.
