New Article: Krang’s Android Body!

We've seen lots of Krang here on the site. Several months back, we saw the TMNT episode where Krang finally got that body of his. Now, here's a look at the toy based on it. "Krang's Android Body," made by Playmates in 1991, is a towering inferno of half-naked bald belly-brained terror made of plastic and sin. I love it, every part of it. For those curious: yes, the Krang figure was removable. You want a pocket brain pal, you can have it. Review features a bonus section where Krang Jell-O molds fall apart.

I had an overwhelming urge to color. Krang demanded it.

Someone has to bring up the TMNT anime again, so, TMNT ANIME! Who else would like to see american cartoons as anime? A lot of the 70′s saturday morning stuff would work. Speed Buggy, Groovie Goolies, anything by Sid and Marty Krofft. Remember the episode of Real GhostBusters where they went to Japan and were given Ecto-Ichi? Imagine Live-Action GhostBusters Sentai. I’d better calm down a bit before I come up with something ugly. Like Akira and Stimpy.

Krang Sucks Shredder Utrom kicks his butt any day!

I miss my Krang. I was the only Nina Turtle-obsessed girl in the second grade, and I was proud of it… and my mom sold all my Turtles except for the "mutating" Donatello and Raphael in a garage sale a few years ago. T-T

That Utrom picture Matt linked to reminds me of Dr. Zoidberg.

I loved that Krang and Walker set. After getting a few of the TMNT figures and playing with my sibs and then getting him, I was rockin’.

VERY coicidental, one of my little sibs who likes to play with my old stuff from time to time about a week ago, and POW!, the giant Krang Body, which we got only after the Walker after some time and the only thing I could remember from playing with that is the very cool mirror in the stomach.

Though I was heavily into TMNT, I never got this figure. Had every other one, just not this. Never really remembered even wanting it.

Strangely enough, in that second picture from the coloring book, Krang looks suspiciously like Meatwad (the character from "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," not the above poster).

And nothing beats "Krang Goes Babysitting." I still laugh my ass off at that one.

Rowan Steele, that’s probably a 5th anniversary Turtle. I’ve got one–It’s a Leonardo figure, just made from silver and gold plastic and immovable, on a little base

Happy three-year anniversary, X-E and Matt. I’ve ready every darn article and enjoyed every minute of it. Long may you run!

And I too prefer Krang to the Utroms. Utroms want to fit in with us, but Krang knows that his destiny lies in his sheer ludicrousness.

Hey, is the new Shredder a Utrom? What’s going on there?

New Turtles figures! See the baby turtles. See the dinosaur man with a claw hand. See the braaaaaaaaain.

(Their spellings might be off. They Utroms, not Ultrons.)

What a great article and a great toy. I got mine while visiting my grandmother in Colorado. Talk about the ultimate villain! Although, admittedly, I was more of a G.I. Joe guy.

this reminds me of the day i stopped playing with toys for good. i crammed all my TMNT figures into my party wagon, and rolled that sucker on my wooden floor as HARD AS I COULD into the wall dozens of times. by the time it was dark outside, i had a collection of mutant animal parts and one sad looking vehicle. it was so awesome.

…is that a Danger Mouse VHS tape I see behind Krang? If so, give it. To me. Now.

…please?

Chestnuts roasted by Aeire @ 04/01/2004 4:24 AM

That looks very familiar. I do believe I owned that back in my childhood days. I miss my TMNT figures. Stupid mommy and her decision to give them all away to the Salvation Army. I need those figures more than those poor kids do!!

Upcoming Utrom figure: http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0886/mystery.jpg

^^ Ah! That is the scariest damn think I’ve ever seen. It kinda reminds me of a Pac Man Ghost with rabies.
That said, awhile ago I had sent an email concerning a possible appearance of a revamped Krang in the new Millenium Cartoon series, and they stated that there was no way, no how they could do that citing that with the Utrom story arc (Of which I’m guessing is close to the comic story arc.) it left no room for Krang. On one hand it saddens me, but on another maybe, just maybe, there’s a way to bring Krang to life. Of course I’d like to see him look more like this than a rabid Pac Man Ghost:

On that note, just by looking at the above picture, wouldnt that look awesome as an animatronic puppet for a live action movie?

Krang was, well– he was one of the coolest, and most easy-to-defeat guys on Ninja Turtles. Couldn’t Donatello just slap him around a little with that Bo, and pretty much end him? I always pictured it in my head, but never had the pleasure of seeing it on the show.

Chestnuts roasted by Stilewalker @ 04/01/2004 1:28 PM

brandon,

I was the same way…. you know, when the turtles craze hit big time, I was at that age where I was beginning to look beyond toys and focus more on Nintendo. Only a few of my friends got the turtles toys, because there was that stigma that we were getting too old for action figures. But it didn’t keep me from lusting over the product. The solution? Trips to the arcade to play TMNT and trips to my friend’s to play Nintendo’s TMNT… the original one, you know, the one where all the turtles looked like Raph on the front of the cartridge.

It’s the ultimate April Fool’s joke! The chia plot is here, but it’s invisible! I know it is! It has to be! Krang (no relation to the British hard rock mag Kerrang) is behind it all! His Dimension X technology will not stop Matt’s Dimension X-E powers! AAAHH-ha-ha-ha-haaa!

Gaaassspp- I’m better now.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 04/01/2004 2:29 PM

Ahh…the good old NES. Still the best system out there. I can remeber playing the first TMNT on it for hours. It was by far the hardest game I have ever played. And I never have heard of anyone beating theat damn game ever. All of the emulators that I have tried for it just go black once you get to the part where you would enter the technodrome. I think that the developers made the game soo hard that they didn’t even bother putting an ending on the game, cause no one would ever beat it.

The second level(the dam) with the seaweed = the hardest, most aggervating level in any game ever created.
