02/02/2004: Strange Freakin Request.

Heyyyy. I have an odd request. A few of you mentioned something about Hostess’ “Tiger Tails” still being available. These seem to be much rarer than the Choco-Diles. If anyone has access, I’d love to get my hands on a few boxes for another upcoming Hostess article. Shoot me an e-mail if you’ve got the goods, and we’ll work something out.

Also, here’s a little thing I wrote for UGO a while back, though it was just published today. My mission was to choose my eleven most-wanted gadgets from movies, and in an attempt to be as honest as possible, I filled it up with Bathroom Buddies and almanacs. Click here to seeee it, baby, seeee it baby.

Picture this:

A full size mock-up haunted house with integrated holo-imaging and sound effects to produce a ghostly effect. You walk through the house, with your own Proton-Accelerator strapped to your back with special Etheral-Goggles attached that allow you to SEE the ghosts. Don’t let them come too close, though, or they will disrupt you circuits and you will find yourself in a dark hallway with a lump of usless metal on your back and you will hear footsteps creeping closer and the air getting colder…

Here’s the best Johnny Five based Lego bot I have found: http://www.marioferrari.org/cinque/cinque.html

and yes, j5 is my favorite robot. If only the Short Circut DVD was closed captioned. >:(

I second the Tron suit and Grays. Sports. Almanac. But I would rather have a Lightcycle and a time-traveling Delorean first.

Since somebody else brought it up, I’ll mention that this past Saturday was the FINAL time that MST3K will be shown on TV for the forseeable future. RIP, MST.

Richard Basehart?

AlienMagic, do you have the freaky Real Boy head for Tom?

Ghosted by kingklash @ 02/03/2004 4:25 PM EST

Is that the one from the episode where Tom Servo had a head that looked like Howdy Doody?

Ghosted by alienmagic @ 02/03/2004 4:59 PM EST

Ooh, I think I would want the Gizmoduck suit. I always envied the clumsy Fenton Crackshell who could turn into the infallible Gizmoduck. No, and that COULDN’T have been a rip-off of Clark Kent/Superman… Clark wasn’t a duck. Right, Killer?

Ghosted by Nachokhaki @ 02/03/2004 5:19 PM EST

GizmoDuck was more along the lines of a Iron Man/Captain Marvel parody. Blatherin’ Blatherskyte! Eep! (sounds of suit crashing through wall, king running like crazy)

Okay, the Bathroom Buddies thing conjers up memories of the "Wings" episode where Lowell, Brian, Joe and Roy go golfing and stay at a timeshare.
Lowell has a ziplock bag full of golf balls which he names and on the way back, he leaves his Bathtime Buddies at the timeshare and feels very sad about it, too, he even looks at Joe with puppy eyes!

Stephanie may have been beautiful but the best statement about her made by #5 was: "Stephanie change colors!" Lot of mileage came out of that one.
I was wonderin’ when king would get around to picking on me for my hobby. Pick on Gabby in her pink suit instead :) If I wear pink I look like I am trying too hard. Black is my color. Nachokhaki has just earned a figure in the hall o shame LOL. Soon comes the fun, I really mean it. Just been very busy with things plus haven’t had much time online lately. Just remember small things can get eaten by dragons :)

On the topic of money- I would pay if I had to to come here. I dunno what that says about me.

I’m quiting

Ghosted by Matt @ 02/03/2004 8:07 PM EST

If that Matt is *the* Matt, you can’t quit. You are forever trapped. Besides, we’d miss you and you don’t want to see us cry, right?

If you want a robot, try looking for the voice-command R2D2. I have one and he works pretty well. I wish I had more time to play with him.

I’d also like Pee Wee’s breakfast machine and Daniel’s exosuit, but if I was going to have any gadget from Tron it would be the Disks, aka the Frisbee of Death! That’ll put a new twist on an old favorite. That or the laser that beams you into a video game. Imagine getting to hang out with Mega Man, the Mario Brothers (where the pasta flows like Niagra Falls) or Pac-Man!

The Gizmoduck suit, or better yet the Iron Man armor, would be cool, too. Actually, I’d love a high-tech armor suit. That’s why Steel wasn’t as cool as it could have been. His armor was way low-tech compared to the comic. Also, Spider-Man’s web shooters would be nice, but they weren’t in the movie. (Unless you count the two-hour TV pilot as a movie.)

I don’t know I think I owned the coolest gadet, the Hypercolor tee shirt, you just can’t beat that now can you? well yeah never mind

Ghosted by Edthacow @ 02/03/2004 8:37 PM EST

You can tell that wasn’t me. He spelled "quitting" wrong. I only spell words that nobody will bother noticaing wrong.

Ghosted by Matt @ 02/03/2004 9:04 PM EST

Gizmoduck was a Robocop parody wasnt he?

Ghosted by Toxicity- @ 02/03/2004 9:13 PM EST

Matt did you get the e-mail I sent you about tiger tails?

Ghosted by pikachulover @ 02/03/2004 9:26 PM EST

Gabbylicious, 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Optimus Prime comes with an Autobot Matrix to put in his chest. If you’re willing to shell out $60-90 for a necklace, then get that :P

Imagine, if you will, a young man with a heart full of joy, for he has realized his dream. He walks into through the doors of his elementary school, proudly wearing his Ghostbuster suit, goggles, proton pack and trap. Another young man, his heart full of malice, walks up to the former. This boy says, "Your toys are gay." The young Ghostbuster calmly puts his neutrona wand back on his pack, and uses the available hand to give the unimaginative prick a black eye. My childhood had few memorable moments that didn’t involve lots of personal pain, but this is one of my fondest memories ever. I will never forget that day, and I hope someday I can tell my children that story.

I’m not sure about some of the things you listed. Am I the only one that thinks Moose mugs aren’t that exciting? Though truthfully i’m having problems thinking what I would want to replace it discluding as most people have said "the hooverboard." Maybe like one of the several Batman Gadgets would cool like the Utility belt and such. Or how about Gandalf’s Staff? I dunno, there just has to be something more desirable then mugs.

Ghosted by Ally @ 02/03/2004 9:59 PM EST

Yeah, I’d definitely shell out a hell of a lot of $$$ for a hooverboard, no doubt about it.

……

…what?

Oh come on, you know you were all thinking it too. Screw you guys, I’m goin’ home.

Matt, do you have a Sweet Pickles commercial? This interview with the Homestar Runner guys just brought back the memory:
http://tlchicken.com/view_story.php?ARTid=1374
"Matt: Like, there was this thing called Sweet Pickles–

Mike: It was a series of children’s books.

W: Yeah! And there was like a hippo and a stork, or something.

Mike: Yeah, yeah.

Matt: At the end of their commercials there was this little girl with a lisp that would say, ‘Sweet Pickles is gweat!’ And our brother was somewhere and he heard somebody say that, and he freaked out."

Ghosted by Richard @ 02/03/2004 11:05 PM EST

I was worried for a second that Matt really was "quiting." Until I observed teh typo. "Matt" Matt hasn’t done that since he got out of the alternate there/their/they’re space-time continuum years ago.

For the guy who wanted a Crow T. Robot you can buy one (or buy parts and build your own) here:

Oh yeah the link above has Tom Servo (with optional "Haircut Servo" version) and Gypsy too. :-D

I liked it when crow got cool and wore his "hat" backwords.

I wasn’t picking on Duck’s hobby. From personal experience I know how noisy poltergeists can be. It’s amazing how quick you can go from, "I’m the only one home! Who’s slamming cabinet doors?" to "I’m trying to get some sleep! It’s only cornflakes, for Pete’s sake!" And I do know a few places for Ghosts and BigFoot-type sightings.

I almost got arrested for trespassing when I went to an old abandoned childrens hospital that was supposedly haunted. Luckily I got off with only a warning. Sadly I losts 2 flashlights, camera, and a little tape recorder becuasse I lent them to some people who actually went in. Why the heck did I give that stuff to strangers? Anyway, when the cops came we got off with a warning and made us leave before I could get my stuff back from them. *sigh*
