The pictures you have are the OLD glofish – when the initially came out. The ones they sell now (and have for the last few YEARS) are awesome and look 1000 times better than they did back in 2004. Check em out – I’ve got 4 and they look amazing under almost any lighting conditions.

I think there are a few problems with your fish – first I think you DID get ripped off, if the glofish had looked like that when I went to buy, I wouldn’t have even seen them. I only got these because I saw how amazing they looked just in the store light. Also mine have white stripes, not black stripes.

Secondly, it helps if you have a light in your tank and don’t use a camera flash when taking photos. I used three cameras to take shots of my glofish and they all look stunning. (and one was an iPhone!)

My fish look just like the ones on the glofish site only mine are more bright in regular light! I never even knew about the black light stuff when I got them, I just thought they looked super cool in the store.
