New Article: Wendy’s 99-Cent Super Value Menu!

Somebody had to do it. Here's an extensive review of everything on Wendy's 99-cent "Super Value Menu," from cheeseburgers to baked potatoes, and yes, even chili. I don't mention it in the article, but the place actually managed to screw up an order as simple as "one of everything." After getting home and noticing three cans of chili and sorely missing fries, we had to actually go back to the drive-thru window and go through everything all over again. It wouldn't have been so bad, but if you just ordered "one of everything," would you really want to go back to the place five minutes later? All for the sake of faux journalism. Check the review.

Thank you, that article made me seriously consider a lifestyle change from an uptight, Republican carnivore to a tree-hugging, Nader-loving vegetarian. At least my shit will come out smelling more like compost instead of greasy animal carcass.

Darn, I wanted to be 76th post. Oh well, anywho Wendy’s is the shiz-nit.
You get real sized onions and when you ask for x-tra ketchup you get it. I will argue w/ the statement that Wendy’s has the best fries. If you’re ever on the thruway (like cobaltnine) check out Roy Rogers fries, they’re thet thickest cut I’ve ever seen. Oh yeah, and Matt, we want the striaght poop (pun intended) on what happened to all that 99 cent goodness.

P.S I will still eat the chili. The value is too good to pass up, even at the expense of my life or colon, which ever should expire in a fiery death first.

OK, couple of things:

The 1/4 pound double stack with cheese isn’t exclusive to the Midwest; they’re available in South as well, or at least they have them in Arkansas. When me and my friends were piss poor, our sustenance would be a cup of chili + as many doublestacks as we could afford, AKA the loser’s lunch or ghetto gourmet.

Second, I haven’t had many bad experiences with ordering from Wendy’s. McDonald’s or KFC are more likely to screw up my orders than Wendy’s.

Third, if you think what goes on in Wendy’s is bad, then you’d better not take a look at what goes on in other fast food chains. Almost all of them have tons of gross stuff going down in them. And you better not think of what goes on in the factories that make the TV dinners/canned or processed foods and snacks you buy at the grocery store. You’re better off planting your own crops and cooking everything yourself. At least then you know who’s ruining your dinner.

Finally, I’ve heard stories that say the people who work in the bottling facilities in my area like to climb on top of the big flats of soda cans and piss all over them. You might want to wash your cans before you drink out of them.

Wow,the wendys in you country look like they really suck, in Toronto the wendys kick ass, its like the most gourmet food i can get for five bucks. Maybe in the U.S. all the wendys are under an evil curse ever since a voodoo witch docter chocked on a chicken nugget, so now when ever the staff make the food it will garaunteely suck hard.

1/4 lb Double Stack is alive and well in Vegas. Best value on the menu, though I’ll often go for the Spicy Chicken ’cause it’s just that good…

Mmmm. More salt. drool

Even before I went veg, Subway was one of my favourites. Now I like hot foods, so I could probably deal with Taco Bell if they had any veg stuff. On the other hand, what the hell do I know? I like to fit into a bikini without having to worry about how I look, so I don’t put this shit into my body anyway. Matt, I assume, doesn’t have the same worries. :D

Otherwise, I say we go back in time, assassinate Charles Kuralt and make Matt the Charles Kuralt of their generation too! Muwah hah hah hah!

Or, you know, I’m just trying to procrastinate instead of doing my stupid homework.

Ten dollar bills are cursed. So send them to me and I will dispose of them for you. On a more related note, can anyone tell me where Wendy’s gets the meat for their chili?

1/4 lb double stack is awesome. Like most places some menu items differ regionally. When I was 16 I ventured out of Minnesota and east for the first time. We stopped at a Wendy’s in Indiana and to my suprise they had…Breakfast?!?! I was totally shocked, it was like I "slid" into an alternate dimension. I had recently worked at a Wendy’s franchise(my first real job)and heard nothing about them having breakfast. I felt like I was in the middle of a twilight zone episode. Another time around the age of 19 my gf and I visited a Wendy’s in Duluth on Lake Superior and saw yet another Wendy’s oddity…a lunch time Taco Bar?? Go figure weird shit sometimes, road trips bring , they do , they do.

Of all the various fast food burger joints I like Wendy’s the best by far. I’ve never gotten violently ill eating anything from a Wendy’s which is more than I can say about McD’s or BK.

HOWEVER…I am thankful that they ditched the Wendy’s SuperBar, which was like the worst all you can eat buffet in the entire universe.

Molten, Taco Bell DOES have at least one vegetarian item, the bean burrito. However since I’ve never eaten at Taco Bell and not been hideously ill the next day, I wouldn’t recommend it.

I have two Wendy’s to choose from. Both are about three minutes from my home. I’m glad I have two, that way I’ll say, "I don’t go that one, I go to the good one."

As bad for you as some of the things on the $.99 menu are, when it’s 2 a.m. and you’re so hungry, you start gnawing at your own hand, Wendy’s all of a sudden becomes Gourmet!

For fun check out wendys.com and it will give you all sorts of great? nutritional information. Your medium frosty has 440 calories. It really makes me wonder what the hell they put into that monstrosity. Oh and since I’m from Canada, our Wendy’s have 1.39 great big value meals…not 99 cents

i leave for five minutes and all hell breaks loose. Mad Matt shows his eeeeeevil face, people got banned (?!?) and I found out horrible things about Wendy’s chili from surly minimum wagers.

so…did we find bitner yet?

Ahh, good old Wendy’s. So lethal, yet so convienent. Next time you go, ask for a junior cheeseburger. 50% of the time, they’ll think you said junior BACON cheeseburger. It’s a simple enough order, you’d think that most of the time they could get it right. But they don’t. Oh, and did you go to Wendy’s this summer when they were giving Pokémon toys with the kids’ meals? I asked for a Charizard, and they said "We don’t have that, we have Pokémon toys."

I want Wendy’s in Scotland. We don’t have it here. I’m craving fries and a Frosty as I type this.

Chestnuts roasted by Mel @ 09/08/2003 9:30 AM

I live for Wendy’s. It’s 2 minutes away from work, and 5 from home. And I get the same thing everytime. Is it bad that I’m slowly becoming a regular at my Wendy’s. They’re beginning to know what I’m about to order.

Chestnuts roasted by splitplug @ 09/08/2003 11:44 AM

Frosty+fries=heaven

try it NOW if you have never tried it before. youll be awakend at 3am three months from now with a strange craving for frosty and fries.

I just love how you can take pics of food and just make me not want to eat it. Keep it up, at least I am keeping my calorie downtake to a minimum. (BTW there is nothing sacastic about this, just the way I usual write things).

Chestnuts roasted by Kyle @ 09/08/2003 12:39 PM

in manhattan… we don’t have a 99 cent super value menu either! it sucks. only the fries and the nuggets, everything else is over a buck! ahh the city… gotta love it.
great article matt! :)

Wendy’s is great, but I hit Jack In The Box because they have the fried jalapeno peppers ~ instant heartburn. Wendy’s fries are great unless they’re undercooked, which happens to me entirely too often. mmmmm…. raw potato.
