Actually, you don’t see the bunny that much anymore. I think he’s joined the realm of retired commercial…things, like the Budwiser frogs and McGruff.
in the uk we have "duracel" and the bunny is in duracell commercials :

for those of you in the uk, al roker is a weatherman here in new york city. hes like a local celebrity (note the term celebrity is being used loosely in this situation). hes like a big fat wierd black dude who thinks hes funny and rokertoons are cartoons drawn by him. i looked at the site briefly and came to the conclusion that closing your hand in a car door multiple times in a row is way funnier than al roker. he might look like a funny guy, but beware.

oh and by the way tin man we have both energizer and duracell in the states and the energizer bunny has nothing to do with duracell. duracell commercials go "DUN DUN DUN!!! THE COPPER TOP!!!" and then two halves of a battery slam together. its pretty epic.

Roker isn’t fat anymore, however. Just his head. It’s like freakishly over-inflated looking now. Which makes me like him more for some reason.

Rokertoons? I have seen worse… ever heard of Pokey the Penguin? ( http://yellow5.com/pokey )
Anyway, I hate that bunny. I hate all bunnies. I don’t see what people see in bunnies. Stupid little creatures… Stupid beady eyes, stupid beady crap, stupid beady lack of affection. They are stupid, beady creatures. Gimme a cat any day, at least they show some measure of affection and crap in nice designated containers. I hated Bugs Bunny, and I REALLY hated the Energizer bunny. Now, if energizer didn’t suck, it would be OK, but Duracel blows anything Energizer ever made outa the water. Those commercials with the freakish guys that ran off Duracel batteries were way less annoying that that bunny. That stupid, repetative, pounding, pink bunny. You know, I think that he had some sort of supernatural power over all other batteries. I mean, every time you tried to put a chainsaw to his head, or skewer him on a lightsaber, your batteries always ran down… RIGHT at the deathblow. It’s not fair, and Duracel would never stoop to that level. Stupid energizer… Stupid Bunny… MAY WE NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN!

I have to admit, I thought the Energizer Bunny commercials where guys in a van track him, a la Twister, was pretty funny and clever. Maybe I just hate Twister.
(Twister the bad tornado-themed movie that is, not Twister the game, which is a legitimate way to grope people at parties. Can’t bash that.)

its winter still…the bunny only wears flip flops. its obvious that the bunny doesnt want to let down his fans by committing a fashion no no (that being flip flops in 30 degree weather). so he’s just waiting for spring break to hit panama city and such. We shall see him then. And hopefly he won’t be stuck in a battery like that last commercial…that was just depressing.

Enough about the bunny- does anyone know what that song linked to the big picture is supposed to be? My guess is a remix of something 80’s, but I have no idea what specifically.
X-E RAAAAAAAWKS!

It’s not a remix, the song always sounded like that. It’s Culture Club, I think. It’s got that Boy Georgian quality.

Man, that was a totally random song/link. By the name of the song is ‘The Reflex’ and it is by Duran Duran. Haha, remember them?

Duracell bunny races again after appeal victory
GILLETTE Australia is preparing to have its controversial Duracell “race bunny” TV advertisement back on air “as soon as possible” after winning its appeal against an earlier Federal Court judgement that forced it off air.
In January this year Gillette had to pull the plug on the ad campaign comparing Duracell’s alkaline batteries with rival Energizer’s Eveready Super Heavy Duty batteries.
The ads, which were temporarily removed from TV screens in November 2001 pending the Federal Court ruling showed a bunny—powered by a Duracell alkaline battery—steaming ahead in the race stakes while an Energizer carbon zinc battery-power one lagged behind.
Energizer launched legal action, saying the ads compared the Duracell top-end battery with Energizer’s second tier battery and were misleading to consumers.
The judge ruled that the ad made substantiated claims about Duracell batteries and neglected to mention that Energizer also stocked a comparable battery as part of its range.
But in the appeal the judges ruled in Duracell’s favour allowing the ad to return to air but with script modifications that clarify what is being compared. Any mention of the Duracell brand will include the word alkaline and any mention of Duracell will describes them as super heavy duty.
Gillette Australia business director Ian Coleman said the company had pursued the right to use the comparative ad because it believed it was the clearest way to get their point across to consumers.
“We wanted to show that comparison,” Coleman said.
“Our advertising aims to allow consumers to make better informed decisions based on the superior performance of Duracell alkaline batteries compared to carbon zinc batteries.”
In the ruling Justice Heerey said “…to the extent that comparative advertising provides consumers with accurate hard facts about competing products , it assists in the making of better informed choices and thereby results in more effective competition.”

The Energizer Bunny
He just keeps going and going and going.
The Energizer Bunny wearing his cool sunglasses and beach sandals
while beating on his drum, never runs down.
The Energizer Bunny’s secret is that he was powered by Energizer
Batteries.
The Energizer Bunny is the marketing icon and mascot of Energizer
batteries. The bunny has been appearing in television commercials
since 1989. His original appearance on television was to help
Eveready Batteries introduce their new Energizer batteries.
The Energizer Bunny only appears in the United States,
due to the rival Duracell Bunny (see below) that is used in Europe.
The American Energizer commercials began originally as a parody
of a long-running TV advertisement for rival Duracell. In the Duracell
ad, a set of drum-playing mechanical rabbits gradually slow to a halt
until only the rabbit powered by a Duracell battery remains active.
In Energizer’s take-off, the Energizer Bunny then enters the screen
beating a huge bass drum, and occasionally swinging the mallet over
his head.
The Energizer Bunny has appeared in over 100 commercial spots
sometimes co-starring with such celebrities as Elvis, Darth Vadar,
the Wicked Witch and Wile E. Coyote
He has made special guest appearances on ABC’s Wide World of
Sports, the David Letterman Show, Cheers, The Emmy Awards
and The Tonight Show.
The Duracell Bunnies
A Duracell Bunny is any of several pink rabbits powered by batteries,
used to promote Duracell brand batteries. In commercial advertisements,
the Duracell Bunny is actually only one of these rabbits, powered
by a Duracell battery rather than rival batteries. The point of the
advertisement is that the bunny powered by a Duracell battery can
continue functioning for a longer amount of time before its battery
runs down.
The advertisements usually feature the bunnies competing in some
way, for example a game of soccer or a race.
The Duracell bunny commercials appeared before the Energizer Bunny.
There are differences in appearance - the Energizer bunny wears
sunglasses, has larger ears, is a different shade of pink and has a
different body shape. Also, while the Energizer bunny is a single rabbit,
the Duracell bunnies are a species. The Energizer bunny is always
depicted with a drum, as the Duracell bunny toys that it is a parody
of had drums, but the actual Duracell bunny advertising campaign
has moved beyond this, and Duracell bunnies are usually depicted as
doing something other then beating a drum.

Eveready’s batteries are about as good as their management. Which means they are useless. The Bunny most likely has a dildo up its ass with Duracell batteries in it. That bunny will keep going as long as it stays there. Why are Duracells batteries? Because there management isn’t running around with there heads up their asses!!!
