02/27/2003: Ultimate Muscle Figures
I found 'em!
It took weeks and weeks of calls and pointless side trips and lots of other activities that made me look and feel like a moron, but I found 'em!
Just had to share that. Next article should be a good one. It's not about Ultimate Muscle, but it is about something else I picked up at Toys R' Us. You've been warrrrned.

Yeah I just found these in my area of California too. I picked up the four sets of the small, M.U.S.C.L.E. sized ones.
They're supposed to do at least 6 more series, plus big 28 packs too…

I got the four mini-packs (are there more yet?) and the large version of the main guy. Sorry, totally forgot his name, but I recognize him as the lead from the old line.

Only 4 so far. It sucks because they have a crapload of doubles in the 4 packs that are out.
They have more you can get with the CCG, though. LIke if you buy a starter deck you get one guy, and if you buy booster packs you get a guy too.
They're clear red or blue.
Figures.com's toy fair coverage for uhhhh bandai or whoever puts these toys out has pics of the new big figures and little ones. They're making a ring for the little guys too, which totally rules. No joysticks though

That is so cool that you reviewed the HULK hands. I got drunk this weekend and went to Wal-Mart at like 3 in the morning and took a pair out of their box. I put them on and chased people around the store hitting them in the face. (Note I was not hitting people I didnt know, but man it would be cooler) Eventually I fell into a display of basketballs and knocked them over, so our drunk asses had to run the hell out of there.

God-damn impulse control issues! Thanks to Matt (again), I now HAVE to have the Hulk Hands. Dammit, dammit, dammit.

I think the Hulk hands took over your REAL hands, because they seem to have made you write that they deserve an A+. Well, I'll show you…I'll make me OWN Hulk hands; hands te likes of which have never been seen! Muahahahaha!

I still dont like hulk hands…maybe in a year or so if they were in a thrift shop or something i'd by them…but paying 20 bucks for foam fist gets a big "NO SUH!" from me. In other news….cherry shoes name is actually apricot and lemon rabbits name is hopalot. Sad that i know that…i know…i o-pawl-o-gize.

Ah, the Hulk movie. Looking foward to that for some time now. But let's hope they also make a Ghost Rider movie. You could get a flaming Ghosty skull to go with your Hulk Hands. Hulk Rider!

Honestly, though, I couldn't give a rat's ass about the movie itself. I never did care about the Hulk, but those hands, DAMN, those hands just look like they'd be oodles of fun. Do you hear me? OODLES!

Some adult company should make a big green weiner to go with this.

More Thundercats and a confirmed rumor (according to Toyfare's postings in He-man.org's New Cartoon Forum)about He-Man.
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news.htm
Thundercats: They're real - and by all accounts they are spectacular. C has some background/update on The Thundercat Feature. 'Brit scribe, Ben Trebilcook (Die Hardest) tried to get this off the ground over a year ago. He wrote a 15 page Treatment, detailing the first of a proposed trillogy of Thundercat movies, set in the vein of X-Men. The story contained the desperate flee from Thundera, that was in self-destruct and also under attack by the Mutants and their landing on Third Earth, subsequently defending themselves from The Mutants and Mumm-Ra The Ever-Living. He (Trebilcook) even secured finance to produce and direct a series of teaser trailers to form a 'package' to take to New Line Cinema. Whether the trails were ever filmed is unknown, though from reading interviews on Trebilcook, he still wishes to pursue and be involved in this project.' BUT THAT'S NOT ALL, 80's animation fans!!!!
Masters of the Universe: I never had a He Man figure, and perhaps that's what helped make me the man I am today. However I know many of you did, and so this may come as either a pleasant surprise or a shock. Perhaps both. Bryce found this in Toy Fair magazine … "The success of the Cartoon's Networks' He-Man and the Masters of the Universe could mean could news for fans - or detesters - of the 1987 live-actioner. are in talks to reignite the "He-Man" film franchise with the first in a series of live-action Masters of the Universe films, the first which will be released Christmas 2004. "No Dolph Lundgren folks this time, and No campy He-Man goes to Earth storyline either. The new film will start from a fresh, telling the story of how Adam turned into the unstoppable He-Man. Newly conceived characters from the Cartoon Network's current series will also be incorporated. ToyFare has learned that Eric Christian Olsen is one name being branded about for the lead, He Man, with everyone from Tim Roth and Jude Law favoured for the role of Skeletor". Thanks Bryce.

The movie's not coming out for a few months, right? Forgive me if I'm wrong on that. Anyways, with the merchandise being released so early, do you think it might fall under the same trap as "Godzilla"?I mean, they started peddling that shit long before it came out, people got all hyped up on it, started buying that crap, then when it was released, you'd see "Godzilla" everything in clearance bins. I thought that movie studios and toy companies were going to stop with this. Yes, I'm talking out of my ass on this one.

I had a similar thing when was young, only they were Power Ranger Gloves. All it would say was "Morphing Time!" in an ugly mechanical voice, and the batteries would run out really fast.
..'there here to body slaam the human race!

You just GOTTA review the cartoon for us, Matt! And yes, the new MUSCLE toys do indeed ROCK!
and the leader's name in MUSCLE was "MUSCLE Man."
Don't feel too bad for visiting the store for weeks on weeks. I did the same thing, and I still havn't seen the large figures!

You should'a called me; our local Wal*Mart has a ton of 'em. Don't look for the new Turtles toys, though, completely sold out.

The Hulk hands reminded me of the time I bought Mickey Mouse gloves while I was vacationing in Disney World. Thing cost me either $17 or $18, but I just had to have have them no matter what.
Too bad we can't post pics in this forum, otherwise I'd show you what I did with them.
GOOD GOD! How can you not have realized the best attribute of the Hulk Hands? Cover one with foil, get one of those striped tank tops Russian sailors wear and this Halloween… YOU CAN GO AS FISTO! That's right, you can be the gayest (ok, gayest non-man-at-arms) character of all time! I am so incredibly disappointed in you…
