12/16/2002: Advent Calendar

The Advent Calendar Christmas Countdown is now completely up-to-date, so go check it out if you need to see more plastic animals and plastic Mare Winninghams. Every year I have such high hopes for the articles I want to do around Christmas, but I always seem to forget that it’s the busiest time of year and my schedule (ha!) doesn’t always allow for it. So, I apologize if the updates aren’t coming as rapidly as you would’ve liked. Forgive me. It’s Christmas.

Working on a new article today. And the next day. And the day after that. I’m not out of Christmas-themed stuff to review yet, so keep checkin’ back.

There is also hope for a fourth teenage mutant ninja turtles movie, according to Ninjaturtles.com (I keep spelling "ninja" with as "ninha" or "ninga", and I originally wrote "spelling" as "spleeing").

"What’s going on with the fourth movie?
We’re currently in negotiations with several studios interested in doing a fourth TMNT movie. We hope that the new movie will go into full swing for a 2004 or 2005 release."

Anyways, Turtles II: the Secret of the Ooze has been on the Skinemax a lot recently, along with Robocob 1 and 3.

Been so long since the last movie that the turtles won’t be so teenage anymore — I know, I got nothing.

Almost forget, TMNT have a new show scheduled to begin airing in February on the Fox Network. It is in cartoon format and pictures are available at http://www.ninjaturtles.com. Venus De Milo is gone (and so are Bebop, Rocksteady, and KRANG! FUCKING KRANG is gone What the fuck?) Shredder is back with the foot, and a non-"blundering fly-boy" Baxter Stockman with those stupid mousers. The only thing that may help the series is that the creators are brining back Casey Jones, the crazy-ass hockey person.

Sorry for multiple posts for one topic, I will never do it again. In fact, I will do one better and never post here again — maybe…

Nice job on the Cartoon All-Stars review Matt. I remember being totally weirded out by that as a kid because it was this HUGE crossover with all the characters talking dead serious about something I didn’t remotely understand (I was also pretty pissed about them not including Roger Rabbit). Still, "hip" friends, meeting your cartoon heroes, purple ghost that hangs out with you and help you beat up people, dying young……what’s the downside to drugs again? Not to mention the fact you can quit anytime you want to by merely beating the living shit out of the smooth-type apparition who represents your addiction…

Nice to hear about the new TMNT show, sucks about all the good villans being taken out (Bebop was a personal favorite) but thats progress and you cant stop progress… or can you?
