X-Entertainment is still feeling pretty bad about those lobsters.

11/14/2002: Hey, you think the last comic was bad?

A few people didn’t seem to understand that the comic down below was supposed to be bad. You’d think drawing crude stick figures with blue faces would drive the point home, but the Internet and subtlety never mixed that well. So, just so there isn’t any more confusion, I labored for a half hour and created what I firmly believe is the worst comic strip ever. I doubt anyone could challenge my claim.

HOTCHA HOTCHA HOTCHA!

I’m gonna give Bill Keane a run for his money. I’m also going to murder him if he doesn’t stop drawing comics soon. I just finished up transcribing the Harry Potter interviews from last month, so if you have any interest in hearing the three young stars use the word ‘amazing’ about a thousand times in a thirty minute span, check out either UGO or Cinema Confidential later today.

Update: You can read the HP interview by clicking here.

Are you a Silver Surfer fan? I always wondered what kind of people actually read that comic.

No, I got into it when the Infinity Gauntlet came out, and lost interest immediately following. I’ve probably read 3-4 issues total.

That isn’t the worst comic, that fat ho that complains about being fat is the worst comic (I believe her name is Kathy). I read it so i appreciate all that is good in the universe…like your not so crappity (in comparison) silver surfer comic.

Naw, Family Circus is the worst. My best friend’s a college professor who has spent the last 15 years collecting those strips and replacing the captions with dirty stuff. Helps to have a hobby, I guess.

The 5 worst comics Ive ever read:

1) Family Circus

2) Kathy

3) Doonsbury (VERY strange, but not Ha-Ha strange)

4) Blondie (Jesus, the comic’s been around since the 20’s! And its still not funny)

5) Hi and Lois (Too fuckin preachy, I hate having morals and family values crammed down my throat)

Oh well, I guess they all cant be Calvin and Hobbes or Beetle Bailey

I wouldnt say that was the worst at all. I mean its not a far side, but hell it made me laugh. or chuckle rather. perhaps thats just the nerve gas… damn russian neighbors.

actually… I kinda thought it was funny, in that strange madcap way that X-E seems to be.

Coulda been much worse… Add Sephiroth and a DBZ refference, make the last panel in a manner that people can’t tell if you tried to be funny or not, Draw everything free-hand in MSPaint, ditch the adequate spelling/grammar…… viola!

Matt,

I heard it told in myth legend and the local gaming store that the Surfer had an NES game. Truth or uh…not truth?

Nemesis – the pics from the dumb comic are actually from the NES game. :) I haven’t played it much, but it looks kinda interesting, if totally dated.

The comic has a punchline at the end, though. It’s at least cute. Better than a lot of webcomics I’ve seen. And I never got the characters mixed up.

About the interview–British child actors are so much more…human than American ones. All of ours are little prima donnas. The Harry Potter kids sound like real kids. Except somewhat more mature and smarter. Ok, Daniel does. The other two…slugs and clothes.

They were a pretty decent interview, all things considered. Most of the actors I’ve taken part in interviewing are at least enough to ‘play friendly’, but others were complete tools. You’d be surprised at which ones. The kids were a breath of fresh air by comparison. And at least they’re shilling a halfway decent flick.

The sad thing is….there are much much worse comics out there, specially webcomics. Really too much to make a list of.

Congrats Matt, if everything fails, you can always start a webcomic.

He’s silver… he surfs… that is all.

Oh yeah, I forgot… You also need to steal a Simpsons joke, but present it in a manner that doesn’t work…

Yeah, that Daniel kid, wow, does he have good taste.

I feel ashamed for not getting into the Sex Pistols until I was 15 now.

And Twelve Angry Men? Who knew a kid his age would see that movie, let alone consider it one of his favorites?

And I wanna meet Tim Robbins. Why don’t I get to meet Tim Robbins?

Stupid British kid…

Or I could just be bloody amused at your little cartoon thingy…

galactus wants in the surfer’s silver shorts. it’s a reverse homo oedipus thing.

I have both the "Silver Surfer" NES game and the "Captain America and the Avengers" NES game, and after hours upon hours of playing them, I can say conclusively and without a single doubt, that Chef Boyardee makes the finest canned pasta available anywhere.

(Additionally, these games are not very good.)

I have Captain America for Genesis…it was better, you could choose from 4 chracters (Hawkeye, Cap, Iron Man, Vision) though the only good choice was Cap, because his shield would hit you coming and going. I always thought Thor would’ve been a good choice since, like Cap’s shield, his hammer always comes back.

I HATE the Silver Surfer, always have always will. He’s got to be the single biggest panty-waste in comic history.
